My Late Mother always repeated the Meaning and Title 'Keep close to your Heart'.
Unfortunately, I forever wanted to play catch up by re-introducing this particular song. We lost the Track in 1978-80 through Reel-to-ReeL format changeovers to Cassette and I didn't quite know how to transfer the Music over to tape, I was about 10 years old. On this day 12/04/23 just past 01:05 hrs I finally hit on this BLog. But my Mother is gone just over 5 years.

One or two folkes that sold us the ReeL to ReeL are around and I remember the additional spool they gave us with Recorded OLd Folke Punjabi Music. Some tracks I as a kid became familiar with and these two were amongst. I have alit of Old Punjabi folke music in Records but hardly understand it. I wish my Parents were here to listen again lost 45 years ago.
very nice voice and song. Never knew this singer Gian Singh Surjit. Just A S Kang mentioned his name in an interview. He just recorded 2 songs then moved over to religious songs. If any one can post his religious songs?
Gian Singh Surjit had always sang "religious songs", which can be found on UA-cam, which include Shabad Kirtan, Dhadi Vaaran, Dharmik Geet etc.
He was a student of Sangeet Professor Darshan Singh Ji Komal. www.darshansinghkomal.com
It just happened that this initial record that was released in the UK was of two "Lok Geet" (folk songs of Punjab).
