    In real aircraft this would not work. The glider was far too high. It would have lifted the tugs tail to a point that the tug could not take off. The tug pilot would have no choice but to pull the release knob and leave the glider pilot to sort out his problems.

      True. That's why on models the release point on the tug is intentionally close to the CG, not at the tail. When the pilots are standing on the ground, it's much more difficult to see if you are on-station, than if you are sitting in the aircraft. (By the way these are real aircraft - real model aircraft! They are not imaginary aircraft!! LOL) Thanks for your interest.
