My Ventus 3 had the same noisy DV panel issue which is a common problem these days. It was cured by trying several other panels until one actually fitted correctly.

Stefan, could you comment about all the electric gliding journey ? From assembly, takeoff, estimated autonomy after that and how is the battery recharging experience ?
Is it worth measuring the pressure difference between the cockpit and the static pressure? Adam Woolley did that a while ago to find out up to which vent setting there would still be a negative difference (to avoid overpressure in the cockpit which may add drag when air then escapes at the seal. There are some older articles from DG which show this can have a surprising impact on L/D (something like 2-3 lost). Let's see how good the cockpit air extractor of the 33 is!

For the whistling DV panel you could try some thin clear tape on the edge of the panel to fill the gap when closed. Otherwise some zig-zag turbulator strip a few mm forward of the panel upstream edge will normally kill the whistle.
the first thing I noticed is how quiet it is, not sure if it's different in person but the old club glider I fly has way more wind noise. although, it is helpful for judging speed without reading the airspeed indicator I guess

Bei meinem Testflug mit der AS33 Me letztes Jahr bin ich schon mit 600 kg geflogen und hatte mir das Überziehverhalten angeschaut. Dazu gibt's auch ein Video. Generell empfinde ich, dass die 33 auch mit hoher Flächenbelastung extrem langsam geflogen werden kann und keine große Tendenz zum abkippen hat. In der Thermik muss man aber manchmal aufpassen nicht zu langsam zu kreisen, damit sie noch steigt. Bei einer ASG29 ist der Bereich enger gehalten.

I would love to see a video that demonstrates takeoff roll, climb rate at normal continuous climb power, time the retraction process start to full completion (and record that process), same with the extension with a simulated landout avoidance. How about roll rate and stick force comparison to, say, the LS3 or a common glider we can mostly relate to? This might be my next glider - just not anytime soon 😂 we're building a home on an airpark in Florida and that has done a lot to my finances 🥴💀💀💀

Are there retractable wheels under the wingtips to prevent the wings from getting scratched & scraped & damaged during takeoff and especially during landing?
There are small wheels which are not retractable. For my perfectionist this is too much drag for a competition but good for every day use. I will exchange them for the world championship.

Is there a height limit for wave flights like the JS3 RES? Only thing the AS33ME will be good for with all that lard it is carrying about with it...............
@@SteFly The AS33es with water on board is limited to a fairly low height, under 6000m, maybe 5000m I think - nothing to do with freezing point........ but 'flutter' speed. Without water its not limited but will be like flying a paper bag.. Just wondered with the battery weight in the wings if height was limited........the JS3 RES is limited to 7000m - so the 33ME could be better for long wave flights with higher wingloading and better into wind penetration. Can't find a 33ME pilots handbook online to check. For the '1000 mile UK wave flight' you need good into wind penetration...... :-) Hoping you get those strong Texas thermals....... at least no worries about Kawa in a Diana 4.............

I used about 20% for the start. In the meantime I made some more launches and it´s always between 20 and 30% for a 500 - 600 m launch, depending on the weight.

I had an important question please, I hope you can find a moment to reply: Have you had any discussions about where you are allowed to store your glider? - In one club in Germany, there are currently discussions about the possibility of the batteries catching fire (abfackeln...!) - some people think it is not safe to store the glider near other gliders in the same space. What's your experience?

It is limited to 2 minutes but I don´t know if it is really necessary to reduce the power. Up to now I didn´t have any overheating problems. Uvalde will be a great opportunity to test it. I´m planning to self-launch every day.

This model would cost you north of €250'000, however you can practice gliding at a serious level for around €5000/year in europe if you join any decent club. Not a cheap activity but also not completely out of reach for most middle class folk.

Slightly annoying that Mecaplex is not able to deliver something fitting… Perhaps some thin sealing can help

It's still not perfect but especially at high speeds it doesn´t get a lot worse.

Yes, on the side is the compass correction card. The glider is prepared for an oxygen bottle, so I only need to install it.

Whats the biggest difference in flight when comparing to your asg29
For sure the propulsion system and it handles high wing loading better than the ASG29.

In general we are more lying than in a car. I will talk about the ergonomics and why I love this glider in a next video.

That is OK 30% ,which gives you the chance of climbing 2 times when the thermals are gone. Quite a lower risk for outlandings.👍😊🇫🇷

No discussions up to now. It is a certified glider and the batteries are much safer than e.g. the early FES batteries.

My bugwiper strings get stuck on the trailing edge of the spoiler when I use them :(
That´s annoying. Up to now I only have problems with the cleaning strings, not the string where the bug wiper is attached to the fuselage.

Es tut mir leid, aber für mich ist ein Segelflugzeug mit Motor kein Gleitflug mehr. Es ist wie sportliches Radfahren mit einem E-Bike. Wenn Ihnen die Luft ausgeht, möchten Sie immer den Motor starten. Das ist der grundlegende Unterschied, der diese schöne Idee des Sports disqualifiziert.

This model would cost you north of €250'000, however you can practice gliding at a serious level for around €5000/year in europe if you join any decent club. Not a cheap activity but also not completely out of reach for most middle class folk.
