@@MattMaranMotoring Question, I’m currently in a rental for my job until my actual company car gets delivered. I ordered a 2025 equinox RS but my rental is a 2024 base model equinox and it feels very jumpy accelerating or breaking. Does the new 2025 do this? I’m hoping it’s just this rental that I have
@@Pepin555 It didn't feel jumpy to me, but it might just depend on what you're used to. I haven't driven the 2024 to compare, but my only guess is maybe it's in the sport drive mode? Worst case scenario, if the 2025 Equinox ends up feeling jumpy to you, you can always leave it in Snow mode which should dull the throttle response.
@@MattMaranMotoring okay that’s good to hear! Maybe since it’s a rental someone was hard on it before I drove it. To me it’s like the transmission wasn’t smooth with switching gears or something like that. I switched out to a 2025 Tucson and it’s so much better so hoping the 2025 equinox will be similar. Looks like the Hyundai Tucson has a 2.5L 😬 the equinox is probably going to feel slower, darn it. Too bad Tucson isn’t an option for fleet vehicles
I will tell you the Activ model looks so much better in person than it does on these videos. And the green is actually good looking. I'm going to drive one.
Nice update! JD Power rated the last gen Equinox as most reliable in its class. If they can maintain that with this new look they will have a winner here!
Sad to see there isn't a hybrid option yet. My local Chevy dealership got a couple Equinox EVs in recently. Nice to see them showing up and the price wasn't too bad either. I noticed the road noise immediately when you switched to the active trim. Huge difference there. But nice review as always.
Who is really ever going off road with an Equinox? The faux off road tires are kind of silly on this vehicle. I would much rather have a Premier trim like we always had before with a more premium feel. Hopefully they add that trim soon!
Does anyone happen to know the ground clearance of the Activ? It seems that Chevy will not report it. I chatted with Chevy and a few dealers and no one can find it listed.
Chevy had 5 years to work on this new generation and for that we get recycled engine and transmission with no improvement in gas mileage. Not sure what the aversion is for more power and better fuel efficiency as seen with the Toyotas or Hondas hybrids. Nice looking vehicle but in todays market the mileage really is the low point
The Major Downfall of the new 2025 Chevy Equinox and it’s sibling the GMC Terrain is the lack of a 2.0 Turbo Engine found in the Cadillac XT4 or 2.5 Turbo found in the New Chevy Traverse or New GMC Acadia. I hope interior cabin comes in more colors than basic black with inserts or another color. Will it be offered in the ICE SILVER paint color?
Great video, Matt. I dont know if you agree, but why can't gm stop using abysmal colors on interiors ? They seats and dash are some of the ugliest I've ever seen. Other than that, it looks really nice! But the color combo of the interior kills it for me severely
Nice review Matt but I just can’t except the CVT on the front wheel drive version which is the one I would get. Also the engines are so inferior to the Japanese competitors. It’s unfortunate because the styling is excellent, especially the RS version with a premium paint color.
GM still has not figured out how to compete with Honda and Toyota, they could focus group the hell out of this vehicle segment but it seems they’ll never be able to match the Asians, this is the biggest vehicle segment in the US at this point I think
Damn.. it looks really good. Too bad any mechanic would tell you to run away from it. I would buy american if it made sense.. but it doesent. So old Toyotas it is.
They just don’t mean anything in general anymore, not just his videos. Automakers slap them on appearance packages. You can use sporty and rugged to describe something. For enthusiasts it doesn’t mean what it used to
I really dont care about screens, and moon roofs, and i almost laughed when you mentioned an EV version. Why would anyway care abkut, support or even mention EVs.

Man, if they drop that new traverse engine in there. It would be a game changer.
Best review I have seen yet for the equinox!! Thank you!
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it!

Nice Review Matt 👌🏾
Trying to decide between this RS Equinox or wait for GMC Terain….thoughts?
Nice review Matt

@@CaptDnaDonut was the ride quality better with those tires?
@@DiaperGranny11 I'm not sure, I haven't driven this car. I was just commenting on how noticable the road noise was.
Seems like a nice vehicle; thank you for the review.
Thanks for watching Jazz!

This is nice only thing I think it needs is a boost in power but overall I like it.
I actually thought it was the Traverse. I think it’s a great design!

It's like a Trax, but all grown up. Nice.
Small displacement turbo engine, CV transmission, all electronic dash made by Chevy. What can go wrong?
I wish someone would compare it to the Rogue
I have a question is there a cigarette lighter power outlet for the front on the 2025 Chevy equinox

Biden cafe standards.
Previous generation had a 6 speed.
I'm glad they finally made it a little more rugged looking and capable ish.

I'm a huge fan of these wide stance refreshes and the "martian green" colors manufacturers are now pushing out. Great review!
Thanks, me too!

Wow! You could really hear more road noise in the Activ model versus the RS model!
Nice as it looks, the engine size is off putting. It’s a nope from me.
I'll pass on it. I need a wee bit more power.
Just need more hourspower
175hp! 😂

I'll take physical HVAC + touch screen light controls over the opposite. Offering FWD on the Activ was a strange decision.
Chevrolet Equinox has always been a bad vehicle.
Really? Its listed in the top compacts by JD power. 85 out of 100. RAV4 has 83 out of 100.
Look for yourself

I’ve seen some on the road so there are people who do care. It works be incredibly stupid of him to not mention EV version 🤷♂️
No hybrid available in 2025, a huge miss.
I don't want a hybrid. But I do want top trim
@ericdolby1622 good for you, but I won't go back to a non hybrid as I care about my gas budget
