Wow, that was a lot of work but one thing I’ve learned about you is that you’re not afraid of work! Beautiful job, and the money you saved is incredible.
Thank you very much, Janey! I don’t know if you have watched the videos from the makeover of Amiah’s basement. (There are three of them.) Those makeovers about killed me! 😜
Absolutely stunning , cozy and inviting! You have a God given gift for decorating! Thank you soo much.. hopefully in the next few months we'll be doing a makeover in one of our bathrooms. I already have several preliminary ideas for my colors..just need to work on the details and accessories. I'm always open to new, unique and inspirational " out of the box" decor.Thank you Sherry again for sharing your experience, visions and unique style with us! Love ! Love! Love!! The use of a vintage bedspread for your window and shower curtain! I use my older Vintage crocheted tablecloths as curtains..and I just love the way the sun makes soo many patterns on the opposite walls and furniture...especially in the evening hours! You truly are an inspiration to us all! ❤❤
Me too. I’ve emptied my robe onto my bed to declutter it but all the mess has sat on the other side of my bed as I’m single and it’s now my sleeping companion 🤣🤣
I love using unexpected textiles for shower curtains, wall hangings and window treatments, as no one else will have it. I think the bathroom is perfection.
Sherry, my husband and I were fixing up the bathroom in a rental home we had decided to sell. The tub was from the 1950s and needed attention. As I searched, I found that people recommended Rustoleum Appliance epoxy over the Rustoleum Tub and Tile epoxy. It's been several years and the people who bought the house said the paint still looks like new. We painted the tub, the lavatory and the countertop using the appliance epoxy. Juat wanted to let you know in case the tub and tile doesn't hold up. I loved the transformation of your bathroom! Think I might want to hang wallpaper in ours.
Hi, Sherry. This project definitely qualifies as “once an ugly duckling being transformed into a beautiful swan!” And a savings of $20,000 plus is definitely a win, win! Everything turned out beautifully! Great job!
@@Southeastgeorgiapeach Thank you so much! I wish I could find some color photos of the way it looked when we moved in. The original vanity with its peach tile countertop and sink was hideous!
I will be putting my 130 years old, 1/2 window of stained glass, inside over my new windows, like you did! It is facing "town" and is part of the features on the east side of the old Victorian. Great minds think alike. I was thrilled to see you hang that stained glass! ❤ The bathroom makeover was amazing!
When we bought our current house, the main bathroom had not been updated since about 1954. It still had that plastic tile they used back then, in pearlized hot pink. Both my husband and I had grown up in houses with that tile in the bathroom, and neither of us was willing to live with it again. I de-glossed it, sanded lightly, and painted it sage green marbelized with peach. It looks like real tile, and has worn extremely well. People will touch it when I say it's painted and remark that it feels like real tile. It would have taken a major gut job and a lot of expense to remove the plastic tiles, and we couldn't do it then, that being the only working bathroom in the house. 20 years later, it still looks good -- and the other bathrooms are working, too!
It’s not that you have the skills, but that your not afraid to choose original finishes! I can hear all the “old guys” saying that’s not the way you do it, you show us what works and what makes it sing! Blessed days!
The wallpaper is great! The black fixtures look good, too. I agree that the farmhouse style seems to be less popular now than it used to be. Everything has a season, right? My aesthetic is a home that feels curated over time with unique finds that I imagine have a historic, romantic or dramatic story behind them. Your home is chock full of such things, which makes it fun for us viewers. Thank you for sharing.
I wish you were my best friend. I just love your videos and in awe of your talent! I especially love how thoroughly you give directions. Keep up the great work.
Sherry, I love, love, love the update to your update! Your out of town guest will love using it!!! Everything is fresh and lovely. The trim and Chandelier were such beautiful added touches!! 💕 I was amazed watching you on top of that sink, hanging that mirror. I thought, nothing stops Sherry! Our last home was built in 1964. We had similar register covers that fit up against the walls. 17 years later, we listed our home. Instead of painting, we too replaced the register covers with new identical ones. I love the choice you made, but couldn’t find something similar to that. We also had a laundry, shoot but removed the door and trim and drywalled over the opening. When you put the clothes down the chute, they dropped on top of the water heater in the basement…
You are so welcome! The tub and tile paint will last longer if you sand really well first. I didn’t do this the first time, and I really think that is why it started peeling. Even if I have to do touch ups every five years, it is worth it to me not to have flesh toned peach tiles!!!
Love the trim around the tile!! This room came together so beautifully!! $30k vs $251? This is so encouraging to those who may have to wait for the budget for a full reno. It can look gorgeous until then for so little!! Thank you!!!
What a transformation! I love the colors and especially your apothecary cabinet. Love the stained glass as well, everything is so beautiful! Much love from California ❤
What a beautiful transformation. I am in love with those chenille curtains. That stain glass is gorgeous too. Now I think I am ready to tackle my scary bathroom.
Thank you, Shelly! Go for it. I can’t imagine that your bathroom is worse than my peach nightmare. (It wasn’t even a pretty shade of peach; it was kind of a flesh tone.😳
Amazing job! I'm really impressed that you were able to paint the fixtures and tile and tub. The chair raíl molding is so much better than an abrupt edge with the tile. Absolutely beautiful.
When I was a school library coordinator for twenty years, I tried so hard to make the library a warm, attractive space- All out of pocket. I painted the original orange countertop in the open work area and all of the cabinet door and drawer pulls with that heat proof grill paint (figured it was durable!) and it lasted for years.
Sherry, you are a force to be reckoned with! I LOVE that you went with the dark wallpaper to offset the white & black. Your attention to detail is amazing! Truly a remarkable makeover!

Just be sure to add a pedestal mirror on the counter if you have young children who can't see in the wall mirror. Hopefully you may have grandchildren one day 😊😉
Wow! I love what you did with the whole room. You have a wonderful eye for design and color. I would recommend a shorter, thinner lamp for the corner. The glass shade disappears against the white wall and it seems like it would get in the way of opening the cabinet door? Thanks for the inspiration!

I purchase a bolt of muslin when JoAnns (especially when i have a coupon) and make a simple lining that I pin in to the casing I make for the curtain rod. The result is stunning! Ohhhhh did I need to see this!! As an owner of 12x12” brown tiled walls in my bathroom, I feel like there is HOPE for something beautiful! I’d even found a similar wallpaper I loved but it’s too much with the brown! I will paint the tile Sherri!! Thank you for this!!❤

Oh Sherry amazing make over! I don’t know when you get your strength ,you are so petite! Fabulous as always. And I’m so happy the stained glass window made it home in one piece and you found the perfect place for your hanging bird! Love the wallpaper and all the special touches!

On top of everything else, I’m envious of your energy . Please keep the videos coming - they are so inspiring!! God bless you and yours.
Great job❣️Down the road I think it would be pretty to switch the two curtains to a shade of pink that’s in the wallpaper. I’d also paint the backing in the black cabinet to that same shade of pink. Pink and black look great together. 👍
Sherry The wall paper is gorgeous Not so much on the fabric you chose for the curtains I would have liked to seen a crisp white fabric for both curtains. To me it doesn’t go well. The stained glass is a nice touch. Karen from Florida 🌴💕
So beautiful. The stained window is so pretty and who would have thought of a bedspread for shower curtain and curtain. The molding was perfect and the wallpaper. Thank you
You did a FANTASTIC job on your tub and fixtures it's an Amazing transformation! And I also applaud your CLEVER shower and window curtain refresh, which turned out looking really good too! The new peel and stick wallpaper makes a wonderful segue down to the cabinetry, and to your lovely tiled floor with the "old school" heat vent cover which looks totally original to the room- WELL DONE! And although I totally understand your reasoning for the glass shade, in my opinion, the bulb sitting directly at eye level is blinding and the lamp base reads bulky. Perhaps a more delicate brass Candlestick-style base topped with a small silk shade to soften the glare, would provide you with more space to open the medicine cabinet door as well as add another layer to the welcoming ambience of your Beautiful Bathroom Makeover. 🥰
WOW!! I love the whole room but especially apprciate your attention to detail. That molding was a brilliant touch.....I think it elevates the entire space. Well Done!

Thank you so much, Pamela! You are such a sweetheart!
Oh Sherry amazing make over! I don’t know when you get your strength ,you are so petite! Fabulous as always. And I’m so happy the stained glass window made it home in one piece and you found the perfect place for your hanging bird! Love the wallpaper and all the special touches!
Sherry, you did a fabulous job and the bathroom is beautiful. I’m so envious of your talent and decorating ideas. You have great taste. Everything you do comes out beautifully Sherry. On top of everything else, I’m envious of your energy . Please keep the videos coming - they are so inspiring!! God bless you and yours.
Looks fantastic! This is the year of bathroom makeovers.
The bathroom looks so pretty! Your attention to detail is spot on.
Great job❣️Down the road I think it would be pretty to switch the two curtains to a shade of pink that’s in the wallpaper. I’d also paint the backing in the black cabinet to that same shade of pink. Pink and black look great together. 👍
Sherry
The wall paper is gorgeous
Not so much on the fabric you chose for the curtains
I would have liked to seen a crisp white fabric for both curtains. To me it doesn’t go well. The stained glass is a nice touch.

Thanks, Karen! I do think the chenille fabric is a bit heavy. I may look for something else. I can always make pillows from the bedspread!
I love the glass hurricane on the lamp. Your bathroom is beautiful.
Lovely! Perhaps paint the silver hooks on the back of the door either black or brass to tie them in.
So beautiful. The stained window is so pretty and who would have thought of a bedspread for shower curtain and curtain. The molding was perfect and the wallpaper. Thank you
Wow, what a change! It looks so vintage. I love the curtains.
Love the improvised curtain and shower curtain, as well as all the antique touches!!!
what can say dear Sherry.....you have the gift of talent dear!
Gorgeous. My favorite part are the chenille shower curtain and cafe curtain.
I love that wallpaper. Your room makeovers are my favorite. That was a lot of work, but the result was worth it .
Wow, I have to be brave. Thank you for the little nudge.
I really like it . Isn’t it amazing what a difference dark colors make in the feel of a space. 👍👍
WOW!! I love the whole room but especially apprciate your attention to detail. That molding was a brilliant touch.....I think it elevates the entire space. Well Done!
