If you don't understand why he did not used soul exchange with blue-eyes white dragon, for early victory, in the animé Soul exchange works like soul crossing, it can only be used with divine-beast, then why Lumas and umbra where able to sacrifice their own monster under the effect of mask of restrict, the reason they could was because of Mask doll effect that prevent all negative effect from their own mask card, this include Maitenance cost, takeing damage, and preventing their own flood gate from effecting them, while the real life version of mask dool only prevent maintenance cost from their own mask card, you would have to used another card in the real verison that would upgrade mask dool to the same as the animé once that card would be invented for real.
