It _wasn't_ "card games from now on" in the manga, however, because between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City there was Dungeon Dice Monsters, and between Battle City and the Ceremonial Battle there was the Shadow RPG in the memory world arc.
I was always wondering why it was so many different kinds of game in the early manga that nothing to do with the namesake card game. I do kinda like the idea of a it, honestly. I would have liked to see that more in later Yu-Gi-Oh seasons.
@@artistanthony1007 It's not, though; it's 遊戯王. 遊戯 (pronounced "yugi") means "game" and is also how you write Yugi's name (Yugi's name is literally "game" because I guess his family is weird; his grandpa's name, Sugoroku, comes from the names of a couple of Japanese board games). 王 (pronounced "o") means "king". This means the title of the series can be interpreted as both "game king" and "King Yugi".

I think what elevates this above most anime parody is that not only does expertly satirize the source but it also celebrates it. While they do an excellent job poking fun at the insanity of Yu-Gi-Oh, the best part is how the whole group completely embraces it once they accept what's happening. It's clear that the people behind this truly love the manga/anime/game and it's done with cheeky endearment, not ironic snide. As well as great animation. And Dave's reaction to their outfit, I love how the joke is not that "he's wearing girls clothes haha" but that they may actually be into it and no one reacts like that's a bad thing. The whole video is just so hilariously wholesome and absurd at the same time.
Second hand there are two copies of the 10 of Clubs and the Ace of Clubs in play. Chuck got dealt the first copies (we see the front of the cards as they fall from his face) and then Yugi ends up with a Royal Flush of Clubs, containing those two cards.
Remember first hand was their deck of cards second hand was yugis personal deck so they switched decks however they could have used two decks as well doubling the amount of cards
@Oliver Mccarthy Irrelevant if you've ever read the original comic Yami is indeed mentally and biologically 15. He died 3000 years prior to main story and was resurrected as his old teenage self.
@Oliver Mccarthy But he doesn't remember his name does he? He needed Yugi to go through some time travel shenanigans to remember his history. He's a teenager who died 3,000 years ago and got brought back, he doesn't know anything that happened during his time sealed away (unless it's game related) and he didn't go through new experiences so yes for all intents and purposes he is 15. You are correct I haven't read the manga in Japanese but I'm pretty sure if there were any major differences between the translations someone would be talking about it (all I've found is that Yugi isn't a diabetic in the Japanese text). So again that's irrelevant to the discussion. That was some pseudo-pentadic nonsense right there.
You this kinda reminds of regular show when they went to return the board game they got. but some how they teleported in game and fighting the store manager almost to death for 7 dollars
What’s funny is that originally, Yugioh was meant to be a horror series where the spirit would take over during any game Yugi played. Usually while gambling with death.
The show was made in late 90s early 2000s, the belt around the neck thing alot of characters wore cause it was a thing that kids or teens trying to look cool and badA#$ would do. @@devyboo2 Actually, technically, there are still 4 Blue Eyes. However, Grandpa's copy is no longer deck legal as it would be considered 'marked' via the tear/tape mending. In theory, if deck sleeves were used and the card didn't stick out too much, it could be considered 'legal' bringing the number of legal Blue Eyes back up to 4. However, no one uses deck sleeves in Yu Gi Oh so this wouldn't happen. Then again people in Yu Gi Oh use cards that shouldn't be legal in the first place because they're banned or 'not official' (EX: Super Polymerization didn't exist as a card until mid-way through the duel with Jaden and, thusly, could not have been considered 'legal' normally since, ya know, it didn't exist prior. I'm not sure where, say, some entity uses cards that may be 'legal' but not 'known to normal humans' would lie.)

@SilentGreninja No, "Yami Yugi" (Dark Yugi) is pretty much a fan name given prior to his real name (or the fact he was a pharaoh) being revealed that nobody ever actually addresses him by (just like Yami Marik and Yami Bakura). Everybody just called him the "other Yugi" and even Yugi always refers to him as "Other me" or "partner" until they discover his true name, which was Atem. After that discovery they start calling him Atem (except for Yugi, who asks if he can still call him "other me" just before the final duel even though they now know his name is Atem). His name is without a doubt Atem, since he himself even states as much and quite literally never actually uses the name "Yami" (nobody does)
@SilentGreninja Most media did use the Yami name, it was just never used within the story. Most media probably stuck with that name (especially games) because the main plot was finding out his name, so calling him by it when it wasn't discovered till the end of the story is weird He was originally thought to be the dark spirit of the puzzle (which is where the yami name came from) before becoming the nameless pharaoh and finally Atem. So most media just stuck with the Yami names to differate between "good" Yugi, Baker and Marik and their dark versions
The funny thing is, this is something that would ACTUALLY happen in the early manga version of yu-gi-oh. As the manga was well established before the card game and was made to show off all forms of tabletop gaming.

Yu-Gi-Oh! seems more like a combination of the names Yugi and Pharaoh.
@@BloodrealmX Yugi shouts Yugioh! and Pharaoh Atem & Yugi literally become a fusion and it's their first name, YUGI Moto, PHARAOH Atem, you literally combine their first name and you get Yugioh then they are a fusion because their hair and clothes are different, the creators literally merged characteristics of them both, they ain't a drastic fusion but more of the mild kind.

Actually both Yugi and Yami are 15 (at the start of the series)-16 (by the end).
For a straight forward game like Poker I wasn't expecting Yugi's "twist" to actually follow the rules. Very good!

Most media probably stuck with that name (especially games) because the main plot was finding out his name, so calling him by it when it wasn't discovered till the end of the story is weird
He was originally thought to be the dark spirit of the puzzle (which is where the yami name came from) before becoming the nameless pharaoh and finally Atem. So most media just stuck with the Yami names to differate between "good" Yugi, Baker and Marik and their dark versions
