Leak sensors (PLURAL) paired w/ a drip tray encompassing the stand & underneath any external overflow plumbing with some decent height to it for emergency circumstances. Blowouts or complete stand collapse is the only realistic danger in terms of water damage if implemented properly. Do the same with the mixing station.
I do like having an alarm like this along with my Apex... can't trust a single system for something this important. Also the waking up part is CRITICAL.
If I have a pretty serious case of dinoflagellates and I’m dosing MicroBacter7, should I keep dosing daily even though it goes against what the instructions are? I have also watched your Dinos video.
I use Geist IT Watchdog...similar...in water-based chemical manufacturing! Other systems cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and these Geist IT Watchdog systems are only a few hundred when paired with the Watchdog POE devices! Can send you an email or text when leak is detected. We have them in all of our server rooms, someone realized that the company also sells a leak detection sensor that can be paired with the unit, we now have them in all of our tank farms. Can also monitor light, humidity, temp... Edit: this style of alarm that Thomas is pitching is garbage, we all know spills don’t happen when we’re home.
Yep! Constant, annoying, high pitched, tone that I can hear from literally ANY CORNER OF MY HOUSE! Even if I am in the garage... Similar to a smoke detector.
Raise your hand if you've had water on your floor... 🙋 Who has tried leak detection sensors?
Watching Thomas with a hangover is challenging.
HIGH ENERGY! 😉
I didn't want a watchdog but you convinced me Thomas! Thank You! Love your videos by the way.
I already got mine after watching this. Lol. Seems pretty good. It's ugly though so make sure you have a good spot for it.

Thomas, are you ever going to put anything in that tank behind you??
I'll be sure to give him a hard time about the tank being empty 😉
@@BRStv Hahahaha YES! I am really excited to get it running, officially!
Thomas, you should've demoed the alarm (sounding). :)
Is it a constant tone?

@@ThomasBReef Good, maybe the neighbors will help make sure everyone's safe when it goes off. :p
Just so reefers in Canada know, you can buy these at Home Depot for less than the US price at brs.
