Goleby's don't fuck about - although in this particular case the process of developing the kit was made simple by the fact all they had to do was cut a 2JZ kit in half.

golbey's are great but the shipping time must be a joke in current postage climate, especially if you're not in the eastern states, i can get stuff out of japan via dhl faster then auspost express from Queensland...

Great content! I'm itching for a small new car to turbo, but you lost me at having to drop out the entire subframe just to access the turbo. This is why I hold on to my 1991 miata. I can pull my turbo and swap it out in 20 min or less. The engine pulls out in an hour - One man job.

What we really need for the GRY/GRC is a traditional Torsen center diff to eliminate the ITCC.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of lag (if any) this kit will have.
G550s are a fantastic little turbo, surprisingly responsive for their airflow capabilities. They're about a full frame size larger than the stock turbo, so even with the latest aerodynamics and materials there will be some trade-off, but it should be minimal.
I personally would like to see what one of these would be like tuned to 240 kw with the smaller GBC22-350 turbo, which is a considerably smaller size turbo in Garrett's very latest generation. About a 65 horsepower (at the flywheel) increase over stock but likely with even better response than factory.

The Yaris stock turbo has a 42mm/54mm compressor and 50mm/43mm turbine. Not bar for a 1.6 liter
We were surprised how much power we got put of the stock turbo

It's not that the new kit is better than the oem's but it is different, the target goals of power, emissions, coast... is different.
Still not sure wether to buy a Yaris GR or not. For the money, you could get a 2nd hand M3/M4. If you want AWD you can get a Scooby STI for half the money. I do love the Yaris and have driven one from the local Toyota delaership. They let me take it for a few hours. Its definitly worth the money. But would an M3 or a Scooby STI be better value for money???
Is the G16E-GTS actually a really strong and well built engine? Before you say anything upgrading the valve springs is nothing compared to some other engines that have pistons made from chocolate.
