It finally happened: Grand Theft Auto 5 is on Switch. Well, not really, but it's proof that it can be done. Modders took the game's source code and got it running on the Nintendo Switch. It doesn't run well, but maybe if Rockstar put some resources behind an official port, it probably maybe sort of can be done. In other news, an EA exec is mad at Stellar Blade-not over the game itself, but that Stellar Blade is a pretty violent game, and somehow that passed the Japanese ratings board, but Dead Space didn't. And finally, we're partnering with Xbox for the next ID@Xbox Showcase, so tune in on Monday, April 29th at 10am Pacific for a look at some upcoming indie games you won't want to miss.

Red dead redemption, borderlands 2, and saints row 3 are all on switch and run better on switch than it did on ps3/360. The switch can run gta 5.

Of course GTAV PS3/360 can run on Switch. It just requires tons of optimization and work, of which Rockstar and T2 don't want to invest.
Rockstar hasn't fixed GTA 4's PC Port in 15 years. so, they don't care about optimization

Well... Realistically how many Adults would buy GTA 5 on Switch? Heck kids who have Switch aren't really interested on GTA V so the number of probable sells might means there's no much of an incentive to actually try to port the game to the Switch.
They don't think it's worth it because only 140 million Switch consoles is sold...

Rockstar should port GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA Chinatown Wars, GTA IV to the Switch.
Take Two will only pool money into GTA Online

Xbox 360/PS3 port of GTA 5 would run fine on Switch and Wii U. Arkham Knight is way more demanding than first gen GTA 5 and is why it runs bad on Switch.

The Switch is the most generally accessible portable device for gaming so it'd be super convenient for a lot of people to have them on Switch.
Handheld PCs exists but you gotta remember that those aren't consoles and as such, some less technical people won't be able to troubleshoot any problems they have.

That’s just an abysmal level of performance, it can’t even hold a stable 10 fps😂😂😂😂😂. There’s literally zero reason why you should go and buy yourself a switch instead of a steam deck. Just to make my point, I’ve been able to run rdr 2 on a steam deck at a stable 40 fps on ultra/medium settings. Don't wanna even think what woulda happened with the switch if they'd tried to run rdr 2 on it or any other demanding game.

No, it absolutely could. It's just that SquareEnix was lazy and decided to make it cloud-based.
The Kingdom Hearts collection being cloud only is certainly due to 3 since the Switch is clearly more powerful than the PS2, unless you want to argue that Witcher 3 (ran in Switch natively) is a less graphically intense game.
