Jacob is sooo lucky having a wonderful wife. ....that ice cream had my mouth watering....great job
Rick Martin thank you! 👍😀
Im excited to try this recipe! I love when the homestead channels do cooking videos, I would love some more fun recipes.
Awesome! Thank you! 😊
Homemade ice cream brings back so many childhood memories of family get togethers with hand cranking ice cream. Those were the days. I hardly ever hear of anyone making homemade ice cream anymore. I bet it’s been 10 yrs or more since I’ve had any. Your recipe sounds a lot like my mother’s. Yummo! You do a great job explaining everything. You’re a great teacher. If you’ve never had a mishap in the kitchen, then you haven’t been cooking enough. It just comes with the territory. LOL. Keep the cooking & blooper videos coming. Continued blessings on y’all & your homestead. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍🇨🇱😁🙏
So happy Jason Crocker brought me over to your channel.
So humble and kind.
paula daniels we appreciate you being here! 😊
I miss the old days when we would take turns sitting and cranking on the multiple makers our family would make when we got together....we bvb had 14 cousins that would take turns...14 over a 32 year span...Nissan those days and that love and life..mindbyou all churns where hand cranked and sat on..lol
Jennifer Cullison those are very great memories to have! 😊
I purchased a white Mountain Ice Cream Machine for that reason, my best memories as a kid was at my Great Grandmothers Farm, cranking the ice cream maker under the porch, soft serve at it's finest. The one who did the work, got the dasher, so we fought over who got to turn the crank.
Hell yea, we did that as kids also, so I bought one for my kids. The brown wooden bucket with the crank... And it also has a electric attachment. But we crank it. Use strawberry quick powder to flavor it. Mmm
Jennifer Cullison - I remember those days. All my aunts, uncles & cousins would get together & every family would make a different kind of ice cream. We had so much fun sitting on the freezers & cranking them. We then got to taste all the different flavors. Those are great memories. We also made snow ice cream when we had a big snow. It was all the same ingredients, except the eggs, & then folded the snow into it. It was sooooo good!
Yes please more food videos, love the ice cream, wish I had that attachment for my stand mixer. Funny story.....My mother in law invited two of the priests over for dinner with all her children and spouses attending. She was a nervous wreck trying to impress them. On the menu was a lovely ham roast, she opened the door to the oven, pulled out the rack, the rack tilted and the ham slid out across the kitchen floor, hit the wall and stopped under the chair. I had oven mitts on at the time so I bent down, picked up the ham, put it in the pan, slid the rack in and closed the door and said ok what do you want me to do with the potatoes. My mother in law was speechless but all through the meal she kept smiling and had trouble keeping a straight face. Memories are so much fun.
Hahaha! Oh my! That is a funny story. Thank you for sharing. I got a good chuckle out of that. 😂
Love this ice cream lol l was teaching my oldest grand daughter how to make blackberry cobbler and i dropped the glass pan as was putting in the oven i will never forget her face lol
Patty Price oh no! I bet that was a loud crash and big ol mess?! Thanks for sharing your story! 😄
Looks delicious!!
When I was a kid we had a dairy herd and actually sold milk to a local ice cream company.. The amount of money they paid per gallon of milk was literally based on butter fat content. . When you mentioned not skimping on butter fat, it reminded me of those days.
Holstein cows produce a lot of volume of milk but Jersey's produce high butter fat.. so we always had a mixed herd to get the most profit.
We had the old hand crank ice cream maker at home.. your way looks much easier lol
Great job ❤. I'm 56 and used to make homemade ice cream with my grandma and aunt's😄. They had the old time ice cream maker 😂. That was around 50 yrs ago 😂. Always had the best times❤
Kathi Starns those are great memories to have! 😊
This is an awesome recipe. I cut up cheesecake into cubes and froze them on a cookie sheet. Swirled some homemade Strawberry preserves in then folded the cheesecake in... oh my goodness... DELICIOUS..
Thanks for sharing this recipe Alex.
Had to come back this year to make it again... thinking about trying to substitute Eggnog for the half n half .
Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.
Home made ice brings back fond memories of my youth. Truly enjoy you and your husbands blooper outtakes.
DYSLEXIC SHEEPLE thank you! 😄
Alex, that looked SOOO delicious!! I remember back in the day, with my grandparents making homemade ice cream, it was amazing, I was writing everything down as you were explaining all of it, step to step, gonna have to give this recipe to my Mom, she has that attachment, thank you for sharing with us all :)
I’ve made messes I can never forget. I dropped a dozen eggs, the lid opened and I had egg yolks over the counter, cabinets, and floor. It was awful. Enjoyed your story!
I can still taste those yummy egg clumps in my mother's ice cream. To heck with straining them out. It's a fond memory from my childhood.
The ice cream looks yummy Alex, and I have had several similar experiences with bowls getting away from me that led to huge messes, so you are not alone my friend, not funny when it happens, but you can look back later and laugh about it!!! Great video, you should do more!!! God bless!!!
Stacie Youngblood thank you! And you’re right, at the moment I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but looking back on it, it’s pretty funny! 😄
Homemade ice cream brings back many happy memories. Thanks for another great video. God bless.

I ❤️ ice cream year round! 😊
Try swapping the white sugar for raw sugar. That’ll give it a subtle awesome taste boost.
I have 2 of the 4 quart electric churns. I bought one at a yard sale once & also got my dads after he passed in 2011. Last July 4th some friends & I used both to churn vanilla ice cream made with raw milk. It was really good. We used raw sugar. We also used my homemade “perpetual vanilla extract”.
Looks great. Whatever you do please don't delete this video. Can't wait to try this.
Haha! I’ll keep it up just for you! 😄😉
I love your paper towel holder, you have a nice house

Yummy! I need to get that attachment for my KitchenAide.
😁 My daughter and I was making bread in her new bread maker. We took the bread to family to try it. I gave loaves to my parents. The next day we were going to make raisin bread, well we could not find a piece of the mixer 🤭... so I started calling people and my Dad found the missing piece in his loaf 😂. We still laugh about it now. 🤷♀️
Marie Dunn hahaha! That is hilarious. I have a similar story. A couple years ago we were hosting thanksgiving at our house and we made the turkey. Long story short, Jacob lost his wedding band and we looked the house over and couldn’t find it. Thought it was gone forever. Guess where it was?? Inside the turkey all covered in butter. 😂
@@SawyerRidgeFarm 😂. My two little dogs tripped me up and I dropped a roasting pan full of Mac and cheese! It didn't make it to the homecoming at church 😂
You two have a time of it...lol
I did the same thing. The little mixer on the bottom, stuck in the loaf . 🤣
Enjoyed the kitchen video. I have Kitchen Aid mixer can't wait to purchase the ice cream maker attachment..
Awesome Job !!!!! So Delicious . My Favorite. Making a batch for Super Bowl . Love
Oh you guys are so cute! Loved the very last blooper.
So, yep, we all do silly little things. One Thanksgiving I made my mother pumpkin pie. The recipe actually makes two pies, thank goodness! This was also my first time making this pie. So, I go to pull the first pie out of the oven and make almost to the counter top when suddenly it slipped from my hands and went splat on the floor. It was also the first time I used a tin disposable pie pan. Who knew they were so flimsy? 🙄 Lesson learned. Especially 6 months later I am still cleaning pumpkin pie out of the nooks and crannies of the oven.
Paulla Wells hahaha! That is a funny story! I love that everyone is commenting their kitchen mishaps. They are fun to read! 😄
@@SawyerRidgeFarm I'm going to have to take time to read them then! LOL
Bonus story: Years ago not long after the renovations on the kitchen I came to visit my parents. Mom made lasagna which is the bomb! Anyway, we had a guest that had a hollow leg so out of character mom made two pans of lasagna to be sure there was plenty for the guest. The old counter had one of those old fashion cutting boards that pulled out from the counter. The new one did not. Picture a galley kitchen. Mom pulls the first lasagna out of the over, turns to set it down and it promptly splats to the floor. Mom exclaims, "I forgot the stupid board isn't there now!" She throws her hands in the air and I calmly reply, "Guess it wasn't such a stupid board after all." Shrugged and walked away before she could pop me upside the head. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fact: The pie I dropped came out of the same oven and landed on the same floor. Karma. It'll get ya every time. 😳
Great video, we love making homemade ice cream!
Our best memories that we laugh the hardest are when things go wrong.
Great video. The ice cream looked awfully good. Keep up the great work and God bless.
Aaron Skinner thank you! 😀
