Easy Pecan Candy | My Favorite Christmas Treat!

- It's that time of the year again when I make one of my all time favorite Christmas treats, and that is these awesome candied pecans! I think y'all will enjoy this recipe! Here is the Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 egg white
2 tsp water
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 lb pecan halves
1 cup sugar
1/2 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees fahrenheit
2. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray
3. Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl
4. Whisk egg white, water and vanilla in separate bowl until frothy
5. Add pecans to egg white mixture and stir
6. Add cinnamon and sugar mixture to the coated pecans and mix
7. Spread out in a single layer onto prepared baking sheet
8. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes

My wife made this pecan candy 5 days before Christmas, LOL. Don't waste the crumpled mixture left on the parchment paper after baking -- you can use this for a delicious topping on ice cream or other desserts. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe. Have a blessed Christmas!
My great Aunt Rose would send up those big brown paper bags of paper shell pecans! We didn't realize how blessed we were back then. She had a few pecan trees in here yard and she would pick them up herself eventho she had problems with one of her legs.
She was a great lady. Always impeccably dressed and house was well-maintained. I don't know how she did it. Sending you love Aunt Rose.🌹 We all really miss you so very much. Rest in Jesus Arms.
I love this recipe, I have made it for 3 years now. It is so easy to make and everyone loves it. I also add 1/8 tsp of ground cloves and 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. I make large batches and give to friends and family. So delicious !!

I just watched this candied pecan recipe today. I have pecan trees and this was a good year with plenty of pecans. However, I haven't finished shelling all of them yet. That's a big job! One suggestion is to put that sugar, cinnamon mixture in a lg Ziplock baggie. Then, add the pecans and shake well to cover them. Then, scoop the pecans onto the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake. Repeat as per your instructions. These are super delicious!

I love these! I usually buy mine at the farmers market, but now I can make my own! If you were to put them in a snack mix, what do you think would be good with them? Pretzels? Chex? What else?
Dried cranberries, mini chocolate chips, pretzels would be delicious with these pecans.

Years ago I had my children and there friends come to my home and make chocolate candies for there families and patients at nursing homes. The children always looked forward to candy making time and dressing up in Elf and Santa outfits, bring candies and other goodies collected to the elderly. The children loved to sing to them and put smiles on their faces as they put cosarges on them, that I made with ribbons and bells.
