- The success of VH1's CrazySexyCool was awesome for many, but left a few people a little upset. Crystal Jones, the original 'C' of TLC, shares her side of the story along with her former manager, Ian Burke.

They seem to be missing the point that as much as they wanted to include as many people involved in their journey as possible, they COULDN'T. They wanted to do a mini series like the Jacksons, but they couldn't get the clearance from VH1. The biopic is about the story of T-boz, Left-Eye, and Chilli and their lives while in TLC. The only people who can tell that story are the surviving members. Left-Eyes last documentary confirms everything that was portrayed about her. Only T-boz and Chilli can tell us how each of the girls felt during their struggles and success as TLC. Not Left-Eyes family, not Pebbles, not Crystal or her manager, not anyone else.

I’m sure she felt extremely slighted for a long time after this incident but I’m glad to see she has accepted her journey and moved past this.
Good thing crystal didn't sing in that radio show. She must not try to prove to people. Plus it's been years seen the 1990s voices change over time . She looks healthy and in good shape, God protected her from joining that industry. Look what happend to other artist in the industry the got messed up.
TLC said in an interview on 105.1 that it wasn't that she couldn't sing, but that she wouldn't perform and was mumbling and kinda shy. That's what I got from the movie. And seeing as how she wouldn't sing for them here, it says to me that that's a little true.

Sounds to me like they let Crystal go because someone thought she would cause some trouble because she was already asking questions from the start and wanted to have the contract checked before signing it. Whether Chilli, Left Eye, or T-Boz were aware of that, we don't know. Maybe they did think she was let go just because Pebbles didn't want her. ???? Anyway, she probably can't sing as good now, so it doesn't even matter that she sings or not now. I would like to hear how she sounded twenty years ago.
If it's not taken care of, it could very well diminish in one's 40's. Whitney Houston is a good example.

If you guys remember in "Behind the music" on TLC, L.A. Reid said that t-boz and lisa did their thing but when crystal sang it sounded like a talent show and I believe him. That's when Left-eye broke it down about their financial situation.
Chili didn't have no talent. They said she could dance but I'm sure they could have found more. So that's why I DO believe she slept with LA Reid. Crystal didn't because he badmouth her with no reason and maybe Tboz. Left eye I don't know about.

I had a meeting with I an Burke and he seems to be a very real person. He said crystal didn't sing that bad, which means she can't really sing that good either.
I really enjoyed this interview. I could clearly see everyone, and I thoroughly understand their position. But this story was about the journey of three girls told by two from their perspective, and you're not going to please everybody. The people who felt excluded, has to find a avenue to express their part of the story. Be willing to wish everyone well and do their own thing. Weather in a song, book, or a play,If that happens with the right intentions, the world will possibly get to the truth and come to know the whole story. I pray for them, that they'll find their own path to the greatness meant for them all. To the unsung professionals, this was possibly a hurtful missed opportunity for them. But because of the skill set they possess I'm certain that greater chances will come their way, because that's show business.
Crystal could have easily showed us that they "lied" about why she was dismissed from the group by SINGING. like, why is she even there?

The crazy thing about this is, these people are upset because they're lives of what they did isn't in the movie but the TLC story isn't about them. Its not call the Jermine Dupree story or the Crystal story. Some people are just bugged for no reason. Crystals made because she said they made it seem like she couldn't sing but comes to the interview and not want to sing... really? Let the biopic have someone like Lil Mo or k.Michelle and they say they couldn't have sung. Lil mo would have sung
1.) If she couldn't sing, why were she offer a contract if she couldn't sing? 2.) The real reason she was booted out was she didn't rush in to sign the contract. In another interview she said she didn't fully understand the contract so she wanted to take it home and show her mom it. (In other words, if you have put your skills aside (or on the sideline, lol) for decades, then later someone ask you to use your skills now and you are older & haven't use your skills for a very long time, what would you think that person skills or performance would turn out to be? LOL)
Crystal is matured she must not try to prove to people that she can sing. It's been years so voices change over the years. She has a right to come out if she thinks they didn't portray her well

Now Crystal Jones was done dirty. Tionne & Lisa candidly admitted this in interviews. They never discredited her earlier input. Yet they kept it 100 & said she did not fit in once they GOT to Pebbles. I've seen 2nd Nature photos, they look awkward, like teenage friends taking Glamour Shots. Damn the talent. 85% of the business is optics and if I feel this way IMAGINE how Queen of Priss felt. So no I don't believe her contract story.
A little shady for the female co-host to ask her to sing on the spot or point out that she was not going to sing on air. I'm sure that was not intentional but comes off that way.
When you enter into the mainstream they give you a story to tell...you stick with it...lots of folks that had your back along the way get left out of that story...trust I know

If I was the surviving members of TLC, I wouldn't even condone this. I would of just let the memory die with Left Eye. There should not be a need to feel like you need to get your story out. T-Boz and Chili can only speak for themselves and NO ONE else. If Perri "pebbles" and Crystal want to tell there side they should feel beyond welcome to do so w/o shade from nobody. BTW the way left eye tells how to committed arson they did not do her justice in that movie.

TLC did say and has always said that pebbles didn't think they were going to succeed, but it didn't make since for her to give them a contract if she didn't agree with them as a group. So she must have thought they had a little talent.

I'm on my daughter page, however if they wanted they say so in the movie why didn't they make the darn movie themselves. The movie is from their perspective on what they saw and lived the life. Also what gets me is in the movie they show that the girls were confused and concerned and looked into their contracts, so if that was the real reason Crystal was booted from the group why wouldnt they just put that into the movie? I think what happened is Crystal got mad that they showed in the movie she couldnt sing, but in all honesty Crystal may have been the 3rd girl of TLC to try out for Pebbles but when it comes to the actual group and what matters Crystal has never been apart of the true equation. Based off the first part of the interview it seems as though Pebbles didn’t like the fact that Crystal wasn’t signing the contract without another pair of eyes, so she kicked her out. It was a blessing because we see how Pebbles did TLC in the end.

Hmmm my two cents is this. I believe they may have taken dramatic license in the film and Crystal did possess some talent. But at the end of the day I think it boiled down to the fact that Crystal did not have the x-factor. All because you can sing doesn't necessarily mean you'll make it as an artist. Chilli had what they were looking for. She was prettier, most likely had a better voice, blended better with T-Boz and Lisa and most importantly she had the x-factor Crystal did not. That's the business and the music business is the shadiest business of them all.
I just listened to a song Crystal did with her nephews and when i tell you she doesn't sound like she fit with TLC, not saying she doesn't sound good but she doesn't to me blend with the TLC sound, so that there says it all for me!

Ian "I sold this group to Pebbles, collected a check and bounced" Burke needs to pump his brakes. 1 He found 2nd Nature, NOT TLC--that's Pebbles. 2 You feel its should have been a mini-series, so did the actual two remaining members of TLC. Mini-series like J5 and the Temptations cost money. Were YOU going to front the MONEY to produce a two part/three part 2hr mini-series? Didn't think so. TLC and VH1 had to keep economical.

They wanted them to tell a story of Crystal and and all the things that happened up to them actually becoming TLC as they are now but that wasn't what the movie was about. They had a little scene with crystal in the audition for movie purposes but the movie was about TLC and their Journey in their career not about everything that happened before that. Crystal wasn't in TLC they had another name. Everybody wants to be mentioned but it wasn't about them.
