kindred Spirits. So far apart, we have never met, and somehow we are on the same page. I have been feeling the need to hibernate and quit. I kept pushing myself and pushing and pushing, but my body would not go anywhere, nor was I accomplishing a lot. I have never been the type to sit down and rest. I am not sure why, it could be a lot of factors. Today, I am planning to hibernate. I don't know for how long, instinctively I feel March 1, would be a good time to start picking up the pace again. Even, saying that, I am still putting myself in control. Thank you Heidi, for giving us permission to follow our God given natural rhythms for the seasons and our bodies. Shalom
Many years ago I read a book bout living on a farm, I think, in the early 1900’s. I don’t remember the title. But I do remember the author saying that in spring and summer they would get up super early and have long work days. But in winter they would “sleep late” and getup at 7. And they would have shorter days, of course. He said the pace was slow and they would use the time indoors to fix their tools and equipment, like horse harnesses, etc. It was a way to get ready for spring and the busy time coming. So to me, hibernating doesn’t have to mean doing nothing, you just have a slower pace and take care of fixing things that get put off during busy times. But yes this book really described seasonal living.
Thank you for being real. This is non-existent these days. I am feeling so exhausted and so lonely. Hubby working all the time. Like a single mother to my three children. Moved long distance no family. I am so thankful for what you do.
I’m exhausted and this video really named what I need right now. Resting sounds so right. I love the idea of lights being lowered as the sun goes down. I picture a pot of homemade chicken soup on the stove with fresh baked homemade cornbread for a quiet dinner followed by some real rest during the evening.
colo. retired. weatherman keeps droppin the forecast. dog at my feet, cat on my lap. barcalounger. 20 in. monitor. 30 cube in the fridge. trips to the bathroom and dog walks. we're good. the world will still be here when I CHOOSE to rejoin it.godspeed to you and yours.
I agree and I am feeling the same way. I have been listening to my body more and just keeping it minimal. I do the essentials for the most part and then go lay down and enjoy a book or watch TV until the kids get back from school and then I start dinner. But there is still that feeling of I'm being lazy 😅 and I cant get the gazillion things we have yet to get done. We just moved to our new homestead, and the house was a fixer upper with still lots that needs to get done.
I'm right there with you- we are homesteading too and the to-do list never ends-- but the joy we find in taking time to rest makes the hard work worth it! 😊
I’ve noticed that too! But with hubby on night shift we kinda can’t be as rhythmic as others 😂 tho for me I don’t like being hot so I don’t like doing anything in the summer. I’m so backwards 😅
Iam Run Down Iam almost 67 ,work Nocshift as a Caregiver with resistance with Demitha and Altimers it's vary tiring 😫 ,enjoy my job but I feel like giving up alot.

So needed this today! Been sick and I’m being forced to rest. Hope you and Sabrina are doing well! We miss her face.

Makes sense to me!

I just had two glorious days of "unplanned" vacation due to several inches of snowfall on the Florida panhandle.
Rest and recharging is good for everyone
Love this and agree 💯

I long to hibernate, but have so many obligations that it doesn’t seem possible.
I pray you may ❤🕊✝️
Are there any obligations you can let go of, say no to, or take a break from?
