Yeah, I agree. I remember the 707s sorta disappeared after the early-mid 1980s. But they were louder than other commercial aircrafts at the time and since. So we're the VC10s. Both VC10s and 707s had those narrower engines (707s had 4 on the wings and VC10s had 4 on the rear), and I believe one of the reasons those engines were louder was because they were an older style and that they weren't as fuel efficient as today's airliners. And I think they used a different type of fuel, it had a very distinct smell that you could always smell at airports back in the 1970s and early 80s, I remember that smell, and it sorta disappeared after the 707s and VC10s, and I think a couple other types of aircrafts also, were no longer around

Same over here , too much sophistication can be a curse in due time , just like cars , keep it simplier and more reliable , also longevity matters , in today's world is not the essence , spending money and more money , due to environmental issues , aicraft , cars , and many others will never last that long , i can tell from my own experience , also everything is regulated , rules and more rules , lots of freedom gone ( money matters especially ) , nostalgic memories remain , but those were the best times ( former past ) ever , btw concerning a smartphone i do not want one , as long is i can a refuse to enter the main stream behaviour , i am not against progress , but i disapprove of big brother watching us , however this is an unmistakable fact !!

Then continuing through the Nixon Presidential years.The Air Force One of the day so great a plane for travel of the US Presidential staff before the new Air Force One the B 747 Notice a lot less black smoke probably due to a combustion chamber wash I presume.So nice video work is awesome. Noticed on the DAS Air Cargo, only engines two and three had turbo compressors. Always thought the 707-320B & C had three turbo compressors and only the 720s (and maybe 120B) had two.
I always wondered what were those horizontal antennas coming out of the front top of the tails on 707s? Were they an antenna for the pilots and the control towers to communicate? If so, how come other commercial aircrafts haven't had them?
HF shortwave antenna pointing forward of the vertical stabiliser , univac couplers were needed for long range over the ocean communications, (12 000 units for communication systems during the 1953-1970 period ) , modern designs use a slot mounted in the fin leading edge or fuselage , remember piston airliners had the HF antenna string from the top of the fuselage to the top of the vertical stabilser
