    Really happy you guys decided to paint all that, most guys would have slapped it right back under the car. This cars going to be the cleanest rx7 in the world. Your gonna have a lot of people that want you to build their cars when this is done.

    Nice, I did this same upgrade in my 20b FD and now swapping it to a RB26. I actually used a Eaton Electric Locking Diff and put it into a 8.8 out of a Ford Explorer with 4.11 gear set. Then I bought DriveShaft Shop Pro Axels, cut and rewelded the subframe with upgraded mounts. You will be happy with this upgrade. I would also put adjustable link and toe arms on too...I did!

      Did you know that the Explorer diff housing is 4X stronger than the one from the Terminator Mustang. Crazy right!

      What is the width of the correct 8.8 rear end that will fit in an FD? I have one to snag up but the owner doesn’t know what car it came out of. It’s 56.5 inches wide

      @@slightlyMADcustoms If your boss is paying attention, he should buy a property now to set up your new shop and lock you two into a ten year lease. That way he won’t be left out cold as you guys make it big. You could suggest a plan to him now so he can think on it. Either way, you two are going to do well.

    I appreciate your build and hard work so much as a technician living in Canada and doing photography and UA-cam on the side, I know how much time it takes off your personal life when you work and UA-cam. I hope the viewers here notice that every time you guys do a B-roll your build just gets slower which means one person is recording while only one gets to do actual work. Hats off to you guys please stay motivated, if you ever move to Ontario or come over to this side to visit hope I get to meet you both. I subscribed to you guys with all my channels lol. ✌

    Am I the only one wondering how you guys know how to do all this stuff or how you got all that equipment and tools, etc... I am very impressed with the amount of knowledge and skills you all have. Maybe you are older than what you look and have yrs and yrs of experience doing this. This is not common knowledge mechanics.

      The 8.8 has seen horsepower numbers close to 1000. We won’t be making anything near 1000

      Ronin speed work grande axles and eaton true-trac LSD in a 2008 ford explorer center section with 3.55 gears

      8.8s are amazing! Havnt put mine through much work yet, but ya it’s the go to for big power

      @@slightlyMADcustoms so I have a s13 cam’d LS3 TR6060 twin disk clutch and a stock diff and wisefab axles. The weak point was axles now the weak point is diff. It lasts around 3-5 events, I’d like to be able to clutch kick and not have to worry. It makes around 500hp

      Ya 8.8 is a logical place to go if your diff isn’t holding up. Hard to say with 100% certainty that it’ll survive that abuse, but I couldn’t see any reason why it would be worse than your S13 diff.

      Those are power flex FD RX7 diff mount bushings, poly I believe

    How do you know it's aligned?

      You can measure side to side to make sure it’s cantered in the subframe. Then once it’s all bolted in the car you can degree it

    Nice job well finished. Si you have a car that no torque and now has the most torque from any NA motor, hopefully your tires are still the weak point, otherwise the term pretzel is going to be in your weekly vocabulary 😂😂😂😂

    Where did you get the blue bushings for the diff to mount to the oem subframe?

      They’re just regular FD diff hanger bushings! I can’t remember what brand I used but they were poly bushings. Any FD ones work with the Ronin swap kit

      I think it was a 2008, 3.55 open diff. I bought a different centre section for it to go LSD. All of the years from that generation of explorer work for donor diffs though

      Ya seems like for the most part you can get away with metric on imperial bolts, but there’s a few weird sizes. So silly
