I'm a fellow Missourian with a miata and am gathering supplies and knowledge to do this swap. During my research I've been wondering why no one was brave enough to make their own subframe...and then I find this! GREAT work! Hope to see new videos, been hoping you aren't stuck. I own Old Town Automotive in Saint Charles, MO. Not sure where you are, but if there is any way I may be able to help with anything, wire diagrams, whatever, look me up! -Danny
Awesome and thanks! I’m near Springfield. Not stuck yet, just way to busy with work. ***Glad to have a job though.*** The subframe was pretty easy, definitely go for it. Buying one would be even easier. Lol.
i did the same rear diff modifcation on my old car. Completely collapsed the top of the subframe cause its so thin. I'd add a huge plate to give it more strength/surface area.
@@dmvchannel3280 Also thinking it might not be a bad idea to put sleeves inside the subframe where the bolts go through so it can't compress there. Just a thought, and obviously too late. lol
@@dmvchannel3280 And thats when the "Budget" part of the build goes bye bye. LOL I remember buying my DSS axles for my 90 Miata 5.0. Cost more than the complete rear end assembly. :( I can't imagine what they cost now as this was 4 or 5 years ago. That's only for "Stage 1" as well.
Ran across your channel today! Juiced about your LS Miata build. I've been watching Taylor Ray for a long time. I've started my own channel as well. Currently doing a show-quality paint job on my civic wagon rt4wd. Also have plans to put an LS with straight axle 8.8 in my 84 Corolla AE86. Check my channel out fellas! Either way, Subscribed!
My new favorite channel officially ❤ I can’t look away from the LS swap back log
Watched every episode in one sitting haha. Awesome work and loving the music as well

4:30 the huge washers and a stock bolt/nut is how you do this part...
Moving along nicely. I just picked up another miata to dedicate an ls swap and follow your progress and knowledge closely.
That’s awesome! Keep me posted on the progress!
Just found your videos yesterday, and I have to say the build looks great. Watched all of them, look forward to a few more videos
Thanks! Welcome to the channel!

Hmmmm. It does seem pretty week. I will probably look it over again. It would definitely be easier to fix it now before it blows up.

Up the good work! Wish my dad and I did this. It would have been great!
Thanks for joining in!
i noticed you dont have C-clips on axles end where that groove is. They are not needed and axle hold in place without them ?
No c clips on IRS.
Always hyped to see a new vid! Makes my day every time :)
Thanks for that!
Where did you get the axles from?
DSS
