    Love how people totally misinterpret Noel's fantastically dry sense of humour for arrogance. People who say he is arrogant are just plain stupid and haven't taken his quips with a pinch of salt. One of the most honest and open people in music.

      and what do you think about Liam?

    • @charliechaz1982
      @charliechaz1982 8 років тому +32

      Carlos Lima I just think Liam is hilarious and very misunderstood also. He's not the sort to sit on a chat show it would be a disaster. But he's the reason Oasis were as huge as they were as he was an amazing vocalist and was "different". Liam is probably more of the people than Noel as he will sit in a pub and sing songs and meet fans whereas Noel can be quite aloof. It's quite telling than all ex members of the band get on better with Liam. But i obviously respect Noel as well with his songwriting and he's probably better at tv things.

    This is easily the most revealing TV interview I've seen with Noel. Most interviewers don't succeed in getting beyond the facade of cocky rock n roll star, but Parky asks the right questions. Noel's still fighting not to reveal himself fully but how could his violent upbringing not have influenced his music? Parky's questions about the brothers' relationship also get to the heart of the continued fascination with Oasis

      He was on the verge of saying “self hatred” when discussing being on the dole as a boy. I have a similar outlook. O tend to be very positive and happy although my dad was very moody and violent. I get why he doesn’t want to realest that onto the world. Especially being an older brother, yiur instinct is to protect others and absorb that negativity and behave like “everything’s alright”.

    This Parkinson Interview is one of the Best I've seen with NG.......Keep coming back to it time and again. One thing I did notice is that he doesn't swear as much as in other interviews......maybe coz it's TV, maybe coz it Parko.........dunno.

    i'm from italy so for me is a bit difficult to understand spoken english. when liam speaks i understand something like 3 words in the whole speech, but with noel is the opposite! this interview is one of the best i've ever seen, you can see noel isn't bored or stuff like that as in others interviews and he actually speaks a lot. i saw several noel's interviews and he never does that, or maybe i just didn't see enough

    Some ppl are giving Parky a hard time, but you have to remember that he has interviewed just about everyone worth interviewing. His shows with Muhamed Ali and Billy Connolly are classic. Noel was more in awe of Parky than the other way round and I doubt he would have given straight answers to such personal questions from anyone else.

    The great thing about parkinson is he barely talks so you get to hear the guest really develop what they want to say and it doesnt feel disjointed. Howard Stern has a similar ability. Other Talkshow hosts these days just don't know when to stop interupting or asking a question which doesnt flow on from what the guest has been saying. Piers Morgan interviews are like he has a list of questions he has to ask so he barely builds on what the guest is saying. The best interviewers are great listerners and know what question the audience wants to ask based on what the guest just said.

    It were on VH1's Behind the music about 9 year ago.
    "the doctor said, just stay off the drugs and you'll be fine"
    Is how the quote starts, something about it not being the answer he wanted to hear and that was that, locked himself in a room and didn't speak to anyone for a few weeks.
    Dunno if you can find the behind the music episode with it on though like. if you do give us a shout and upload it.

    Erm, had it not been for The Smiths coming from MANCHESTER, there would have been no Oasis. The same applies with the Stone Roses. Noel himself cites Mozza and Marr for his reason wanting to be in a band because he famously said, in this interview that "rockstars came TO Manchester until The Smiths."
