Whenever I have a bad day I watch this interview and within moments i'm laughing. I use to have a favorite part but I don't anymore. I love how relevant a song like "Ciggaretts and Alcohol" will ALWAYS be. Noel said that every 16 year old can relate to gettin a bit of action such as booze and cigs. Now ain't that the fuckin truth?
bro what the fuck are you on about? Noel has said on a number of occasions he was inspired by Ian and Sally Cinnamon is what inspired Noel to pick up a guitar hahahahahaha
I don't see why people dismiss record sales by pointing to people like Britney Spear and Backstreet Boys etc. Those are manufactured acts...they have hundreds of ACTUALLY talented people guiding their every musical and promotional step. That is why they were popular Oasis on the other hand weren't controlled by anyone and controlled all of their own musical output. They made it on the back of their own talent. They connected personally with millions of people. That IS worthy of props!
"You could go on Jonathon Ross and tell the world you have a cure for cancer, and Ross would still make a joke about it" - Noel Gallagher.. that kind of sums up his feelings towards Ross
JR's radio show is amazing, but he seems to pander to the masses when he's on TV. Noel, as always, is a legend and it just goes to show the kind of bollocks that the mainstream media make up, like band rivalry and so on.
I think there was about a year or so gap between the recording and release of Def Mayb, so I think at the earliest recordings (probs about 1992/3?) Liam would have been about 19. Aside from that, Noel might have got his maths a bit wrong anyhow.
Did anyone else notice that he said Liam was 19 when they recorded the album, and he is now 33, and at the beginning on the interview JR says I can't believe its been 10 years. Some of these sums dont quite add up, but i am sure someone is going to put me right I would imagine...
I'll agree with you there - I'm guessing you're talking about Radiohead - Oasis used to make good music and don't so much anymore. But Radiohead have continued to change and make decent music as good as they ever did.
I know but he said he was around 19 when it was recorded. They would have started the band a few years before the album got released. Then he said it was released ten years ago and he's 33 dya get me ha :)
Northern miserable attitude? It's called being laid back and comfortable with who you are, whereas the self-conscious majority feel the need to accentuate themselves in front of others.. Jonathan Ross starts to understand Noel's "northern" attitude that you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself and he's loving it
sorry for my poor English :( in fact most of the time i found it hard to hear what Noel is saying i just barely understand what he is trying to say but cannot hear the words clearly :(
Noel Gallagher on Damon Albarn "He's different from me. I'm not an artist for me, it just comes out. He does Chinese operas and that kind of thing, he's got more strings to his bow than I'll ever have." He said it not me. Albarn has made 3 types of competely different music and been a success. Something I doubt Noel Gallagher would be capable of. He is more talented because he is capable of making and being a success with more than just one type of music
