I've got this monitor being delivered today. It is replacing the LG 34WK650 34-Inch Ultrawide that I've had for the last 6 years (dual 21:9 monitor setup, with a smaller 25" Ultrawide above the main panel). My second screen will still be the LG 25UM58 Ultrawide that I'm currently using. I'm really looking forward to going from 2560x1080 75Hz to 3440x1440 144Hz 😄
Got this monitor today. I'm a "T" setup user (ultrawide + portrait monitor), so I'm kind of annoyed to deal with a curved and VA panel but it does do the trick when watching a movie or playing Forza Horizon 5. I'm really surprised how it handle HDR because before today, I would have told you that "HDR 400 is BS and fake HDR" but it's actually passable and certainly better than the monitors that only says "HDR10 compatible" (my laptop have a True Black HDR 600 OLED panel, so...) As a monitor arm user, I found funny that you praise the stand for being the most easy to install but also having a too big base. Dude, this thing is a beast and totally max out my arm capacity, so it better have a good stable base, but the "quick fit" mean that the VESA mounting is so much recessed that I had to unscrew my monitor arm from my desk and install it on the monitor. That's because my arm have a slide in plate and can't slide in a recessed hole... That was a nightmare lol. I'm curious tho, what graphic card you have to be limited to 120Hz on the DisplayPort? Or maybe you have a too old cable that cannot handle the bandwidth required for the 10 bits per channel at UWQHD resolution.
Just bought this on offer for $240, To replace my Alienware AW3423DWF, the Sub pixel layout on the Alienware meant text had coloured fringing on it making it terrible for productivity, but amazing for gaming, so i'm sending it back. But the Del S3422DWG is great for text, I do miss the black levels of OLED and the colour vibrance. But I Mainly use it of Work and music production it is a better choice for me. Its Good enough for gaming once you dial the settings in, set it to super fast and enable g-sync and its great.
Hey man, do you know that your face and beard is oddly a good test pattern for testing all the countless settings this monitor has. Just found hilarious that I kept a review of my new monitor among other videos and test pages.
Hi, love your professional review 👍 If you compare it to the Samsung Odyssey G5 screen, which one is better? Not only for games but also for office work?
No... and yes... It depends on the settings, I don't have it right now, because I have set the refresh rate at 100Hz (my RX6650XT isn't built for UW1440P and I don't play competitive games). But when I was at 144Hz and I think the Refresh Rate was at Extreme, I could clearly see a "black ghost" of the text on dark backgrounds. That's why the monitor come with so much settings, depending what you do, you will have to play.
I found this info from a customer on Amazon. "I had no issues turning GSync on over the display port. You do get a notification saying that this has not been certified by Nvidia as Gsync compatible, but you can still enable the functionality regardless."
i would buy an oled in a heartbeat if i wasnt working on my pc for 8 hours a day and then also game on it (so my pc is on for like 12h+ a day). I have an 34" ips (gigabyte m34wq) but i hate the black levels of it, or ips in general. Now im thinking of getting this one, how is the motionperformance in dark content?
@@AtHomewithLucas I dont expect that, but ips looks very bad to me. Can't stand the grey blacks. Im just wondering how the picture quality is holding up in games vs an ips display.
Ive just got this monitor, Replaced an Alienware AW3423DWF (yes really) for the main reason it looked really terrible with text to the point I think my eye sight was going. this is so much better for productivity, but going from OLED to VA is hard after the ridiculous black levels of OLED. But they are better than my old ASUS ROG monitor. The HDR is not as good either, found myself constantly turning it off and on to as I couldn't decide was was better. but it is the jack of all trades monitor, very good for productivity
What i haven't seen anywhere is one measurement in particular: How deep it is. I've seen that it's 234,18 mm in depth including the stand. What i would like to know is how deep it is without the stand. I know it's little tricky to measure because of the curvature... Can anyone do that pls?
@@AtHomewithLucas My 1st 16:9 flatscreen monitor was a dell 24" 1080p back in early 2000's. its still going and still looks great. I gave it to my friends son and he uses it for gaming and loves it. I have the S3422DWG now( picked up fr $240) and just had a AW3423DWF which was the best picture i've ever seen but text was terrible so I went for the Dell
@@AtHomewithLucas really? nice review, my 27" of 2021 has the same osd but no vesa and i this the dell from the video is my next dell or maybe the 32" version of it i dont think 2024/2025 is ready for 21:9 :D
I'll tell you I can't use a 32-inch monitor anymore lol my brain wants the 21:9 aspect ratio. It's weird how fast I've gotten used to the ultra wide desktop experience. So I would say if you use multiple monitors in your days or weeks, maybe stick to the 16:9 aspect ratio monitors so you can move seamless from one to another.
So would you go with this monitor or ASUS TUF VG34VQL3A.
For just gaming, I'd get the ASUS, but for casual gaming plus work stuff, I'd get the Dell.

Oh so it may just be the cable? Let me check the specs on it. Thanks
The HDR isn't really passable, but more like a really nice reshade feature, and that's after you calibrate her to the micrometer lol.

hi what offer is this i wonder
Hey thanks for sharing. Yeah I can't wait until oled panels get as good as out phones. I'm sure we won't wait long.
@zifengjiang5899 best I found was on was $329 before tax and on Prime 🤷♂️

This one is better, but the Odyssey has a better display panel.
@@AtHomewithLucas Thanks 👍 👍
Im on the fence on buying this, does this monitor have black smearing while reading texts ? I will be heavily reading texts and wonder how it performs

it has AMD FreeSync premium, but i always forget what's the diff. of that and the "pro". anyhow does this monitor support Gsync ?

@themadnes5413 yes the blacks are definitely not gray or washed out.

does it have or can it have dead pixels over time
No I didn't have any dead pixels. I've never used a panel that got a dead pixel. So I think getting a dead pixel over time is rare.
@@AtHomewithLucas how much better is a curved panel compared with a flat
Curved panels are easier on the eyes, especially at the 21:9 aspect ratio.
I have this monitor and ive been happy with it. Def a big jump fro. A 32 inch 1080 p

Say what you will about Dell and Alienware PCs, Dell knows how to make a monitor.
Yes, as my first Dell monitor, I have to say I can see why business buy them. They are built to last with very user-friendly touches.
Apparently they are the number one selling monitor brand in the world, and have been for years.
Yeah, it only took me 36 years to get one to learn why, lol

Why couldn’t you mount it to the wall?
You definitely can, but I personally think it might look weird because it's so curved. Also, it's heavy, and my mount is for lightweight monitors.
You can I have dual monitorrs of this stacked... I really like them
