I don't have safe foods. But I have unsafe foods. I can not even smell it. Im like afraid of the food. I really dont know what ıs wrong with me. I dont like to talk about it too like I dont want to write them or see drawings of them. If you experience the same thing or know someone that experiences the same thing can you please tell me what is this?
My friend has ARFID, she knows what she can eat, and she makes sure she eats weather or not it’s with everyone else. why wouldn’t a kid with an ed be okay on their own?
ARFID is not a choice and not as easy as "just push through". If you force a child with ARFID to eat non-safe foods for them, that overwhelm their nervous system, then that will create even more problems with food. Slow and steady, with an approach that is proven to be effective by studies, you can widen the foods that are tolerated. The creator is doing what is factually right and helpful.
@@mikaeldarander3458I have ARFID and while it makes eating much more difficult and stressful at times for me, I am a fully functional and productive adult with 2 kids and a nice life, sooo 🤷🏻♀️
Your comment is ignorant and not helpful, just instills more unnecessary shame in people with the diagnosis ARFID . There are different sicknesses in the world and none of them need you hierarchical ranking and dismissal.
ARFID is also a real disorder that is in the DSM (the manual used by psychologists for diagnosing disorders), and it's not something people can just "push through." If I try to eat foods I don't like, I literally will throw up. A lot of foods my brain doesn't even really see as food, and I physically can't force myself to eat them. It also causes extreme anxiety.
Omg I feel this to my core. My kid isn’t going to be fooled lol

Sad, do you think this child will function as an independent adult? I wouldn’t manage my day if my bread was the big issue.
why wouldn't they?
