A great pair of remakes. Thanks Catherine for sharing your talents and ideas with us.
I like the line of stitching at the end of the sleeves for the perfect position for attachment of the cuff for precision without effort. Nice.
The white jacket is a very clever idea for the tailored jackets that don't fit anymore. Thank you.
Yes, I love my white hoodie jacket! Thanks for watching and commenting!
You’re absolutely amazing & a genius!!! I feel exactly the same way about my server too! Before I even had a serger, I hadn’t realized how much I needed a serger/overlock machine. But, I came to my senses when I took a beginner’s sewing class even though I had been a seasoned sewer for some time. My eyes were opened to the overlock/serger machine. I too became obsessed by it, & I had to have one. My husband gave me a serger/overlock machine that very same year as a Christmas present. Even though I was a seasoned sewer, taking a beginner’s class wasn’t ever an option before but, so glad that I did! Because I was the most experienced sewer in the class, the teacher asked me if I could be her assistant helper & work w/ others in class. There was 1 teacher for about 30 students in the class. When she was busy, the others would ask me for help. That year I learned how to make my own patterns, sew a dress, make a pair of pants, make a jacket, use the serger. That was a good year for me.
Wow, what a wonderful burst of creativity you had! Amazing!
You did a great job! The white jacket is adorable.
The white denim jacket upcycle was amazing. Thank you.
I just got here from your current New York video with the thrifted wardrobe.
Great projects!
You could line the dark jacket with a fleece hoodie or a wool sweater and turn it into a winter coat! 💡
Brilliant!! I love your creativity, resourceful rescuing and ability to see the potential of a rescue. So funny to see the skeleton you made of the hoody and inspiring to see how you attached it to the Jean jacket.
Oh, thanks for giving this video some love! Much appreciated because I love this one and am still wearing both jackets all the time!
Wow! Love the Jean jacket/hoodie piece! I saw it on your NY trip video and had to go back and watch this.
Thank you, and stay well!
Muskoka ON 🇨🇦😅
Genius!!! and bravo to sewing those white sleeves on. I would have thought I had sewn something incorrectly to get that point with the sleeves. But you demonstrated it can be done! Thank you
This is sheer genius! You have inspired me to go thrifting for my 1x body. Thanks so much!
You're so welcome! Thanks for giving this older video some love! It's one of my fav projects!
A few years ago I joined a hoodie with a denim jacket, and got a lot of wear from it. I removed the hood and pockets from the fleece, and added them to the denim, the trickiest part was adding the hood while keeping the collar. It got it to work, and added the angles pockets to the top of the denim pockets.
Well done, Catherine! I absolutely love how you created your hoody jean jacket and can tell it's going to be one of your comfy go-tos! Thanks also for the sleeve tutorial on the dark Jean jacket. Another very helpful tutorial! Many thanks
Thanks, Cathy! You're right, I still love wearing both comfy jackets!
❤ You inspire me to thrift for clothes just because of the potential in the fabrics, not just in this video but All your videos. If something is too small, it’s a starting point!
This is exactly what i want to do with a hooded sweater and denim jacket that i have. Thanks!
The cutting of the white hoodie and 'blend this into that' was a little unclear to me. I think you can go slower and show the steps more. I don't think many of us would mind a little longer video. With your kind and pleasant voice you're a pleasure to learn from.
The white denim upcycle inspired me try my own. It was not without some difficulty (I’m still a beginner), but mine turned out good enough for me. I learn some things about sleeves and working with mixed fabrics. Thanks for the video!
I really appreciate the way you explain everything... you are a great teacher .. thank you .. Lizz from south africa 🥰
Fantastic and I love that look of a hoodie under a denim jacket…🥰🥰🥰
This is perfect and solves a puzzle I've been having with one of my jackets 😊
Fantastic!!! You were able to save two garments. I love that. Recycling is so great. Thx.
Wow, this was so fun, so awesome!! I came from watching the French seam, loved that one too! New fan!!! Thanks!!!😀
I am mesmerized by your alterations. I have done some myself but not as extensive as yours. Will you please do a video showing how to alter a jacket that has oversized shoulder pads and how to make the shoulders and arm holes fit when you remove the shoulder pads?
Yes please!
Loved both of them! Wish I could find more denim jackets.
Absolutely Brilliant!
Love, love, love how this turned out! Will definitely have to give it a go...
Very ingenious, to combine the hoodie and jacket!
Great idea! Both together, awesome!❤️❤️❤️
Love the white jacket! Genius!
Lovely as always
Great job. Love the new sleeve and hoodie idea.
Absolutely brilliant. So cute. I love it.
I love the white jacket!!! Great concept…
Love this! Thanks so much for your great ideas!
Thank you so much for the idea) I definetely have to make something like that.
Love the idea of the Hoodia, putting that on my to do list. Thanks😊

Great idea and perfect execution!
Love the cut and shut!
Great job!
That was BRILLIANT many thanks
Wow, excellent recycling.
This is a great idea!
I just found your channel and I'm amazed by you. Your such a cutie. Helpful tip for you when sewing on sleeves such as you did... Turn the garment inside out, giving you the ability to flatten your target area. Your garment will be on top with better exposure to fabric topside. I hope I explained It well enough. I use this method for many other construction tasks. Thank you for sharing your skill.
Awesome 👏
So clever. I have the same problem with a denim jacket and now I can rescue it. ❤
I looooove the 2nd diy..❤ woooooow very good idea❤.. really thank you..
Great tutorial!
love listening to your thought process🤩🤩🤩
I recently detected your channel and I´m learning so much from you about how I can upcycle clothes. Thank you very much!
very clever and informative!
Nicely done as always!
Loved it 💞💞💞
I just finished following your example to join a grey hoodie with a blue denim jacket. I didn’t need to do the sleeves, thankfully. It is so cute! This is my favorite up cycle I’ve done so far. Thanks!
What a great thrift flip! Well done.
Thank you, my sewing friend!
Good job.🎉
fantastic job! i love that you combined the 2 jackets into one very stylish jacket that fits you so well and looks adorable. i am a seamstress also and am learning a lot from you. thank you, Catherine.
Thanks, Sandra! That's amazing to hear!
One of the best items you’ve made. Outstanding , love the looks. You make it look so easy. Bravo 👏🏻
Amazing
❤ Beautiful
Thank you so much! I will do both of them, or at least try to! I‘m so glad, that I found your channel, you are amazing! 😻
Yay! Thank you, Karin!
Love it!!! I have some hoodies with huge logo's on the front that I hate. I'm going to combine one with a denim vest. Your channel is great inspiration! TFS
Wow!
Loved this video, you are so clever. Definitely not a fan of the background music though, find it detracts from the video. x x x
Here for you, Sistaaaaaa!!!! =)
Thank you my friend!
I love your new jackets!
Question- have you ever tried freezing your garments after using the heat to make your ink disappear? I have heard that freezing temperatures will sometimes reactivate the ink.
Sleeves are always too long for me but rather than reapply the cuff I sew down the placket opening (rather than have the tiny placket opening you have )and use one layer of each cuff to bind around the edge of the sleeves. Sometimes this creates a sleeve edge I can roll up a little too!
How do you manage to get much wear out of all these clothes you've upcycled? You've made so many. Or do you sell some of them?
That seam ripping would've taken me forever!! So amazing. Where did you buy the frixion marker?? :)
Hi Kathy! I first bought Frixion pens at an art supply store, but now they available through Amazon too. I might even have seen them at Staples. I cannot live without them now!!
@@CatherineSews My wife gave me some of those markers as a gift once. Spooky good science goes into making them, eh!
@@Maplecook I know, right! And I've been told that after you iron the fabric, the marks can come back if you put it in the freezer!
Can you please show how to make armholes smaller, I am big busted, but when I buy a sleeveless blouse the arm holes feel like they go halfway to my waist. thank you.
I've been pondering your question for a while. I'll see if I can come up with something!
@@CatherineSews thank you very much
I wish you wouldn’t go so fast.
@lucilledaub5991 there's an option to slow down or speed up videos with the three dots, on the upper right hand corner of your screen if you're using a cellphone. I don't know where it appears on a computer or laptop screen. And I sometimes have to pause a video to catch up with the steps. Hope this helps.
Bla - bla- bla.... 😰
