I am a person of habit, I make the bed as soon as I stand up, then say a little prayer, thank God for this day. I get dressed and comb my hair and proceed to breakfast. Breakfast is always at the table, napkin, tea and my iPad. I read the news, and check my calendar and to do list. My day has begun. I clean up the dishes and apartment and then take a few minutes to relax before starting any projects of the day. Since COVID, I have naturally been staying in. The new habit I want to cultivate is going outside, even if it is just for a walk, or have lunch with a friend. Evenings I stop to relax about 8 pm, occasionally watch tv, more often UA-cam videos. Thank you for the videos you present. They inspire me and allow me to share my thoughts.
During this past year I’ve developed several new keystone habits. I drink warm water with lemon juice every morning before my coffee and then two more large glasses of plain water with lunch and dinner. While drinking my morning coffee I either do an online jigsaw puzzle, colouring page, or crossword to exercise my brain. I have also started doing hand weight and floor exercises on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and the difference it has made to my energy levels and strength has been amazing. Have a FAB-ulous day everyone! 💕
I’m 57 years old. Two years ago I started making habits for myself because I was feeling erratic and disorganized. I get up every morning at the same time..5:45, and prep coffee for me and my husband. Then I take a morning 3 mile walk. My morning walk it like meditation for me and really sets a positive tone for my day.
I do the same thing with meals. I stopped eating while lazing on the couch and watching tv. Made the decision to sit at the table and make it special. It was the start of getting healthier and treating myself better.
Habits are great, especially “always” the start/end of my day- everyday... and I agree if I wake earlier than my usual time, I get up... listen to your body. Sixty & me is such a rewarding part of my day. Thank you, Margaret 👏🌵🌺
I love your video. If I get 5 hours of sleep I'm okay I don't worry about getting 8 I start my morning off with a cup of coffee, a game of Sudoku, and reading.
Yes, Margaret..I sometimes wake up at 4 AM or thereabouts. The morning routine is very important; it sets the trajectory of the whole day, IMO. I have my coffee very quietly, and lately, I've Incorporated prayer into it.. private time with the God of my belief. A candle at dinner is lovely; I adore candles! Personal health habits that we do on a daily basis (such as water, as you say) - lemon water for me - can be quite helpful. Videos do help me, too. I try to plan meals one at a time, as I'm trying to lower my sugar intake, slowly. Thank you so much..it's always a happy moment to see that you've uploaded a video. 🙂 Stay safe and well! Rosemarie 💖
Thank you for sharing!!! I always set my place at the table as you are describing!! I eat from a smaller plate with a napkin and dessert also!!! We are self caring❤️. Enjoy your videos so much!
Love this video! Thank you for yours loveliness and all this great information. I know I sure needed to hear all these ideas. I'm 55 but lots of days I feel about 90 so I can't thank you enough.
Another wonderful video! I have the same morning routine every day, unless I need to go out earlier for a special reason. I love your evening meal routine, Margaret! 🙂
You’re such a dear and sunshiny person. I enjoy so much listening to your videos. Thank you so much. I always dance around the kitchen in my bare feet while cooking dinner or breakfast, whenever I’m in the mood. Always let the sunshine in. God bless.
Thank you Margaret. You look so lovely today. For me, my key habits are meditation, journaling and walking. I meditate first thing in the morning. I walk several times a day. Just before bed, I journal. The journaling is sometimes a little inconsistent. The walking and the meditation are very important. I do not read email or anything else until I have meditated. Since I am retired, I have the luxury of doing that. I often wake up early, so meditation is a very nice way for me to start my day. Warm wishes as always.
You are so adorable Margaret. lol. Such a sense of humour which I love. I’m going to retire in a month and nurse just casually. I’d like to establish some keystone habits that will help me maintain structure in my life as I retire. I’m afraid of wasting away precious time and becoming unfulfilled and depressed.
The power of habit Keystone habits: * sleep inertia - if you wake up to alarm 🚨 then snooze button = bad start - get up (!) when u wake up * make your bed 🛏 * meditation gratitude list * journal 📓 📔 * prepare a dessert 🍨 🍮 Candles 🕯 * drinking a lemon 🍋 juice with apple cider vinegar * learning how to clean your kitchen * phrase habit in the positive that you’d like to establish Take on one ☝️ habit a day Be creative
This is all great if one had any decent sleep, when my nights are bad which are many its awesome to get more sleep. Just wish the bad nights did not happen. Kerp working at it. Blessings.
Turning your meal into a dining experience is a wonderful habit. I find food prep tedious most days and try to make quick and easy meals just to eat and take meds. Thanks for the inspiration! 😍
Beautiful! Well spoken, positive informative. I have been practicing quite a bit these habits for about 3 months. I feel so much better. Grateful for your teachings.
PTL Margaret…good share; I have made working with/on myself my priority! Love you necklace; your makeup looks amazing! I have learned to get up with my level of energy flow; I straighten up my house to make things better for me! I pray, think, journal; it keeps me focused on expectation of good ❤️💯🌹!

Think about your sleep during the night. You perspire. When you wake up throw back your blankets and scatter your pillows and allow the moisture to evaporate before you make your bed, don't make your bed while the sheets and the blankets and pillows still contain moisture from the night. Let it evaporate and then make your bed. This too is a well-known health habit.
Great suggestions! I'm 75 I've sever Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. My emotions and good thoughts ie children visits memories celebrating everything! It's only fun if we make it. 💕
What a lovely virtual friend you are becoming. I find the sleep thing to be so right. Hey also I love your natural eyebrows, lucky to have them.. ❤️ ❤️
I am so thrilled as the author of the article that it resounded with you! It's so funny - I feel sometimes like I "preach" no snooze and sleep inertia. These keystone habits are game changers and I get so excited about the difference it has made in my life.
I get up as soon as I wake in morning -- have stopped going back to sleep- enjoy catching up with my afternoon power nap-- feel re energized. Thank you so much for all of your informative videos. Cheers!
I've been waking up super early and find I feel better when I just stay up and then take a nap after lunch. If I get busy in the afternoons, my cat reminds me that it's 'our nap time'! I'll stretch out on the couch and she'll curl up with me. This has become a very important time of my day - a new habit I've formed.
Hi Margaret. I love your Summer linen top. It looks nice and cool. We are sweltering here in NY for the last few days. What happened to Spring? LOL. Have a great Sunday!
The rem sleep tip makes sense. I AM really tired if I fall back asleep, After waking up. Margaret, I am a supporter but I don’t know how to access your get together’s
Hi Margaret. Have you read 'ATOMIC HABITS' by James Clear? He talks about 4 steps how to create and ingrain new habits as well as to change current habits. And how long it takes for a new habit to become automatic. It has helped me to understand myself indeed. 🤗🤗🤗
I do not like the 3 ish wake up, long time ago I was dreaming it was 3.30am and 3 men where breaking into the home, I woke up it was 3.30 yet I was scared, so I turned on all the lights the Tv and looked out the window, 3 men where walking down the street turned on my block yet walk pass my place.

Wow! Trust your intuition. That’s amazing. Glad you are safe.
