All you really need is: basket or cardboard box when baby is 0-3 or 4 months can even safely be in bed with you they will need different arrangements as they get bigger, length of cloth to wrap and wear baby (there are videos to teach you), boppy is very versatile, have a high chair then forget special plates the food will end up on you the tray or floor anyway, baby gate, handful of toys that can be chewed on, bibs or rags work to, whatever you have around the house that's safe for baby to mess with get creative, forget the mat use a blanket towel or clean rug, diapering items, car seat, cup with handles, you have a teaspoon then you have a babyspoon, diaper bag can be an old purse or backpack, sleep sacks are very nice but baby blanket works too, 2nd hand store for most of this specially clothing cuz they fly through sizes and when they're little the used clothes are like new. Baby doesn't have to break the bank, and since alot of us have REAL TIGHT incomes you will be surprised by what things you really can get by without and baby don't care if it's new or used. My 1st &2nd kids were babes during the Great Recession all we had for awhile was a laundry basket then later a crib mattress on the floor. Point is use what you have don't worry about getting the newest thing or being made to feel like you HAVE to have everything from the baby section. Love your little ones, make sure they're safe and happy, and you decide what works for you.
As a mom on her second baby but tons of nursery-high school childcare experience I appreciate seeing mom find things that I could possibly use. I had my daughter 8 years ago and had her use the self feeder with the mesh. I hated it. I’m so glad that you found something better. I just had to pause the video as put the kids me on my registry. Thank you for such a great find
As an occupational therapist working with small children, I CANNOT recommend using a Bumbo seat or any other "seating" devices for children as young as 4-5 month old. You should not put your child in a seat, before they are able themselves to sit up fra a crawling position. That is when their back is strong enough to sit in a chair. This also goes for bounching/jumping chairs.
I’m an occupational therapist in EI as well and I was going to write the same thing about the bumbo chair. Actually I saw the thumb nail for this video and scrolled down to the comments to see if anyone also disagreed with that suggestion.
You have great, yet expensive taste. But it’s true you get what you pay for. The nuna is totally worth it. It’s $500 but 5 year old is still using it. She’s very petite so I think She’ll using it until she goes to high school 😝. Great thing is that it’s easier to install and it has great safety standards. 👍🏼
Ouuu lord , I’m gonna need all of these 😭 my daughter is 3 months & I’ve been looking to buy her new stuff in preparation for teething and eating! Thank you 💕💕💕💕
To avoid diaper rashes, dry your baby before closing the diaper and change regularly. Bacteria breeds in moist environments, so the drier you can keep them the better 🥰
I saw those silicone food chewer things while I was adding stuff to my baby shower registry. Now that you explained how to use it, I am going to make sure I get some for my son. I got the rings and the banana chewer from one of my neighbors. I got a good amount of paci clips from my baby shower. I didn't even ask for them but I am so glad someone got me some! Yes! Bandanas are a LIFESAVER! Especially for spit-up! My son spits up a lot and Bandanas help keep his clothes from getting too messy.
My baby is now 2 months old. He often spit milk and drools and messes up his clothes. My sister gave me some burp clothes as a gift. Never worry again, lol, I recommend it to you hope it will help you,amzn.to/34eADA2
Oh my ... how DID babies of the 70's and 80's ever survive without these wonders :P I think it is a good video for those mommies who want to use all of this stuff :)
Thank you for sharing this video. My bub just turned 6 months today and this helped a lot. You are so sweet and honest. Love your videos. keep up the great work!
I am a new parent with a 7months old starting to teeth and crawl at the same time, so I would like for you to suggest to me some baby play toys and parenting tips . God bless you for the continuous efforts you put out there for people like us.
My baby prefers a teething straw to the other teething things you mentioned. she's 5 1/2 months old but also is as tall as a 2 year old (wears 2t due to her height) so baby carriers and high chair you mentioned shes way to big for. i suggest people wait to buy things so you'll know if your baby can even use it.
I was just thinking the other day that I need to find a list or article like this. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I also appreciate how succinctly you presented each item. You definitely got a new subscriber!
The Bumbo is being sent back the straps on the side are impossible to get out without having something to pry them out with. I didn’t like the adjustment on the straps either pretty much not functional. Concept is great and has some nice features but all in all it’s going back in the box.
Occupational therapists use them... As long as the baby is old enough supervised and it's on a flat surface like floor or carpet... Then it's ok Do not leave your child alone it unsupervised
@@luceromoreno8288 it's not just a matter of the lack of seat belt, but forcing a baby who doesn't yet have the muscle strength to support their weight into a sitting position is bad for their spine, and also is actually counterproductive to learning to sit, because it locks them in and prevents them from using and developing their muscles the way they would normally do. All healthy babies somehow learn to sit without a bumbo so why do parents feel the need to enhance the natural, tried and tested way they develop? It's the same thing as walkers which are also proven to delay walking in babies. Just allow them to have plenty of supervised tummy time and they will learn to sit when they're ready.
Hey there Susan, really love your videos. Clear and concise. Is it possible to list the amount of each baby essentials like how many onezies you need for a month or a week? Maybe at home or on travel? Thank you 🤗
That Bumbo has so many cool improved features than the older style! MY sister used a Bumbo with her 3 kids without any issues but after seeing a few comments down below about PT’s discouraging them, I guess I should pass on it. That sucks! I can see the appeal of why you liked it though.
It’s a good product but really isn’t recommended for baby’s younger than around 6months. Babies have to be able to sit up on their own independently before they can be put to sit up on these chairs.
Great video, but have to ask, where did you buy your dress? It is beautiful. I'm a new mother and trying to figure out how to dress with the changes to my figure and my need to have nursing accessible clothing
When my baby drools, I use pure cotton organic bibs burp cloths , Very soft and absorbent, no rash, I recommend it to you, hope it will help you, amzn.to/34eADA2
Have you tried Love to Dream? They have swaddling sleep sacks that help babies transition to sleeping freely :) working great so far with my little one
What is the white thing wrapped on both side of Ergobaby carrier sling? I use the same baby carrier and was looking for something like that. Where did you buy it?
I will tell what I know, but I'm no specialist. Just a mom who does a lot of research. For the people who want to know, not to say you shouldn't use something. They say bouncers are bad, my little one loves it. I do know why they are bad so he can't play long but as a parent you are the one who needs to fit the advise for your baby. They say a sponge feeder really isn't good for babies. Especially not when they have teeth. Bibs pinkies and all others that are round are great for the beginning when they don't take the dental ones. But further it's bad for their teeth and their mouth muscles. THE BUMBO IS GREAT! LOVE IT! I've got rhe floor seat and multi seat and I love the multiseat. Also great for feeding before the can sit in a baby feeding chair. You can already let them sit a moment at 3 months in this. For how far I know it isn't bad this early if you use a bumbo. Looked like it also helped my little one learning how to.
Hi, I love your video! When and at what age is the high chair needed? Why did you have to get both the multi seat and high chair? Just asking because I’d like to understand the difference between the two before I decide what to buy. Thank you ♥️
It always makes me wonder why some people get the priciest baby things when they are only going to need it for a short span of time.... Do babies know the difference? . I think it's just consumerism that has got the best of us .
Victoria Soto Agree completely, a lot of the stuff I’ve got for my newborn are second hand and from charity shops ect. You can still get decent stuff for cheaper. Some people spend ridiculous money on nursing chairs and really fancy cot mobiles ect, don’t need half of this stuff.
i wouldn't say these are must haves, some of the items are but you don't have to go for these brands, like any brand of the dummy clip, bib, sunscreen, nappy cream, sleeping bag, high chair and carseat will do but i think the rest is all luxury stuff or a case of baby by baby. for example i didn't need the food feeder for my first, but i might for my 2nd because she is teether really badly and wont use teething toys but shes showing interest in food, my first hated the food feeder (we used something different tho as yours isn't available here)
I seriously can’t with you tubers and all their “product recommendations”. Please people I beg you do your own research before just blindly buying based off someone’s opinion on you tube. Any type of sit up seats are really not helpful to young babies. They need to learn to roll around on the floor and build their back muscles to be able to sit up their own. Those sit up seats do nothing for them. Yes it’s convenient for you as a parent but that’s about it. I don’t care how upset your child gets when you leave them to go do something. Let them play on the floor let them self soothe and self regulate. Let them figure out that it’s ok if you walk away you are gonna come back. This helps them with stranger anxiety. I see other you tubers (not the one in this video) also recommending products (doc.a.tot) that are literally banned in other countries because they are NOT safe for sleep. Yes it’s marketed as a co-sleeper but use common sense. The sides of it are fabric so baby can easily suffocate in it. If you aren’t supposed to have fabric bumper pads in a crib then why would you put your baby to sleep in something that has raised fabric sides? DO YOUR RESEARCH! Stop buying these silly overpriced crap and let your baby learn to do things on their own (with your supervision and help of course).
Lily Martain First of all I never said chairs are bad for babies. As long as they are and key word here “DEVELOPMENTALLY” ready to sit up then the use of chairs are ok so long as they are SAFE. I said SIT UP seats are not ok especially if a child is not developmentally ready. Bum I seats and it doesn’t matter which kind of bum I seat or sit up seat if for one not safe and two does not help a child learn to sit up any better. Please read the attached link/article for more clarification. Sit up seats market their products to “help baby learn to sit up” when in fact babies should develop these muscles to learn to sit up ON THIER OWN. This means sitting on the floor and holding themselves up with their hands/arms and learning to balance as they do so. blog.dinopt.com/bumbo-is-a-no-go/
Our pediatric physical therapist said the fisher price sit me up seats are OK when age appropriate but the BUMBO as shown in this video actually puts their spine in a weird position so is not recommended. We don’t leave our babe in her sit me up for too long but she does like it!
Was hoping to learn about some new products, or ones i’ve never heard of but was a fairly classic list every mummy knows about. Oh well… was nice of Susan to make the video. x
Susan never fails! Her parenting videos save me so much time and are just so practical.

Christina Duedal Ulrich Hi Christina, what do you think about baby carries, that look like backpacks? Are they ok for baby’s back?
thanks! does that also count for the mamaroo/rockaroo/fisher price electric swings?
I’m an occupational therapist in EI as well and I was going to write the same thing about the bumbo chair. Actually I saw the thumb nail for this video and scrolled down to the comments to see if anyone also disagreed with that suggestion.
yep. let's keep in mind that most of these youtubers have sponsors who asked them to talk about their products
This happens when people who want to get paid for advertising products do not care about what they are advising

Ouuu lord , I’m gonna need all of these 😭 my daughter is 3 months & I’ve been looking to buy her new stuff in preparation for teething and eating! Thank you 💕💕💕💕
Coconut oil always worked great for diaper rashes with my son! For the bad ones i’ll put a drop of tea tree oil in it too and it’ll clear right up
To avoid diaper rashes, dry your baby before closing the diaper and change regularly. Bacteria breeds in moist environments, so the drier you can keep them the better 🥰

Many physical therapist advised against the bumbo seat. So I've passed on this product.
Yes, but on the old version that have no seat belts!
This is a different seat.
Occupational therapists use them... As long as the baby is old enough supervised and it's on a flat surface like floor or carpet... Then it's ok
Do not leave your child alone it unsupervised
The best seats are the fisher price floor seats or similar flat seats! Do not put a a baby in a seat unless they can sit up on their own.
