Sure dealing with them is tough but it was actually pretty fun tbh. If it ever comes back of course in any shape or form since POE has been destroyed during the break out. It should have updated rewards of course.
Back when i was really into D1, i was alot younger, didnt know about LFGs, And dint have any friends that played the game, i remember somehow pushing through, through hours of work soloed every version of POE, except for the one where you queue with randoms. Better times
Same. I distinctly remember one weekend in the spring of 2016 where I ran Challenge of the Elders over and over again solo cause I’d never used LFG before. I managed to get Queenbreaker’s, Lord of Wolves, and Dreg’s Promise by the end of it. Funny enough, 13 year old me being awake at like 1am listening to creepypasta narrations while slowly and frustratingly chipping away at a boss’ health with my Colovance’s Duty is one of my fondest D1 memories.
God I remember the memes circulating during 2016 and 2017 back when I just joined. It was a good time to be alive. No politics, no horrible storyline with no mystery at all and best of all... Fuckin Sylok
Tbh i hate it. I played it every day for over a month to try and get Her Benevolence. The game would not drop it for me. My friends would join me and get 2 or 3 in a row. I still hate Variks, even in D2.
I miss this version of Variks. Back when he actually had unique dialog and emphasized certain words a certain way as opposed to just clicking his tongue every 5 seconds in d2.
He still does the emphasizing of certain words thing. "OURS was a world of PROSPERITY and PEACE, not unlike... your Golden Age. WE worshiped the Great Machine... BUT fate intervened. WITH IT CAME a Whirlwind of destruction." In D2 it's also really easy to hear that this guy is a storyteller from just his voice. I also really like the idle dialogue where he says "The suns have set. The day is done. The pink gives way to gray. Yes, that's right...", which the Athrys's Embrace lore tab reveals is an old Eliksni lullaby. Also the wheezing and clicking is because his windpipe is partially crushed. I think Phylaks did that, it's in one of the lore books. Kinda similar to why poor Xur is hunched: a Sunbreaker hit him in the chest with her Hammerstrike and he broke his back on a rock.
i hope for the day they just surprise import this to pc, cuz id still take an import of this to pc any day if iit means this comes back, i live for the day D1 has a resurgence, like id pay money for a D1 import, i miss this game so much
@@aIexemre Yeah but even though almost all taken bosses look identical, it was cool how we got the taken patrol missions, taken alts of strikes, taken alts of PoE, taken weapons, and in challenge of Elders, all bosses including taken got a unique gimick. Taken King + the April update made year 2 one of the best years of all of Destiny
I tried to duo the overmind Minotaur with my brother (because we didn’t know LFG’s existed at that point), and we realized that if we huddle together when we get detained it’s easier to break through both bubbles. We still never actually beat the boss, though. I’m glad I know what I’m doing now lol
I wish I could've done that with my brother, we were able to afford 1 console so we take turns trying to solo the mission, and we end up succeeding once!
We got Variks back, we got the prison under control now, whats stopping us from remaking the prison of elders? I would live to see that activity come back and it wouldnt take up too much space like some of the other activities so it wouldnt need to be vaulted
I want to say since we've basically cleared out the Solar system at the moment of bad guys and now it's just Hive with super powers isn't it? Well until the Vex or The darkness make another move

@@snottytoe6957 I honestly wouldn't know who's left maybe that rogue group of psions, the scattered fallen maybe the house of salvation (If we didn't wipe them out) Vex are uhh just vexing at the moment my guess we gotta prevoke them into fighting us, and taken and hive have their own DLC at the moment so there's that but I'm guessing taking down the Queen, the super hive, and the three worm gods might leave the hive to perhaps sign a peace treaty or face extinction
Ethics, perhaps? Everything there was enslaved to fight and die for the Awoken's edification (and the Guardians' amusement). I don't think turning it back into a gladiatorial arena is the best option. Besides that, Variks is sitting pretty in his exile on Europa, monitoring the remnants of House Salvation and comfortable in the knowledge that he has better work to do than he ever did in the Prison.

PoE is my favorite part of D1, i want to go back to it but i dont have anyone to play with so its a shame for me. If you have any friends to in with, do it, its worth it.
PoE was the tits. You'd be dropped into a prison, fight a badass enemy in a fucking arena, then get to drop down a giant tunnel into an enormous treasure room to get some sweet ass loot. One of the best DLC's for Destiny ever.
The Cabal in D2 look like clowns from a circus show and also act like that. They aren't menacing or even a real threat even in the Red war they were just there
I want them to bring Prison of Elders back, ever since Forsaken I want this back and Forsaken was a good opportunity to do so, but we've got Gambit, even though Gambit is good, but no match for this, and they never brought it back, but since the Season of the Lost came out, that would be a good opportunity to do so as well, but we have to wait and see, maybe at some point they do and this will be the recommendation in the future, and by then, they may or may not add it back, but who knows tbh, we have to wait and see, lol
I loved the first destiny, spent way too much time on it. I remember trying to beat skolas for the first time, took me 4 hours. He was nice enough to drop me a Ghalajhorn though.
Hydras are the last ditch attempt as they are the ones who process enormous amounts of data for the vex (hence why most of them have spinning energy shields). They are pretty much headquarter control and communication for the Vex, and thus are very rarely taken alive because they will self destruct (the explosion on death) rather than be captured.
