His autobiography does a better job at outlining his heroism than this. It's better to hear it from the Apache's mouth. This blurb does Geronimo no justice. At the time of his final surrender, there were FIVE THOUSAND U.S. soldiers hot on his trail and they never found him. His band had dwindled down to 25 or so men, women and children. Even still, those FIVE THOUSAND men never captured Geronimo or his band. Geronimo eventually surrendered. He was caught between those soldiers and those Mexicans. He was old and tired by then.

Goyathlay regretted that surrender, saying that he would have continued fighting the treacherous White Eyes even if he were the last warrior left.
Aoó, Goyathlay! Please greet my Auntie with all my love and respect.

Geronimo was Apache! Neighbor of the Tohono On Arizona and Sonora mexico has Tohono Tribes and not only that if you look at the Map of the borders You also find Tarahumara Tribe Chihuahua Estate/Sonora estate is the Land of the deer 🦌 Part of the Tohono tribe/Geronimo great Apache !!
Geronimo spoke Yaqui, Tarahumara and Apache Spanish too!
Trading ? The Apaches were raiders
Gotta instill guilt and portray every non white as victims of course.
Justinus Berger ??
I think you misunderstood me
The Apache’s were a savage brutal tribe as were all of the plains Indians
They habitually raided other tribes long before the white man came and would kill everyone they could from babes to old people with the exception of kids 5-12 yo
Justinus Berger the Apaches were brutal people
When pursued anyone in the band who could not keep up was killed
Very sad how God's people are treated by others who God considers his children as well. I would dislike the painful feelings of a parent who has to watch their children hate and kill each other.
@W.I. #46, I think, there for I know that anything written that causes exclusion of anyone for reasons beyond their control, is bad. I refuse to be programmed that way. You do as you like.
@W.I. #46, you are not correct. I do not see God as white.
@W.I. #46, You do not know anything truly about God. You just know a book really well. A book written by people. Your strong declarations don't mean much to me or God. You can have a nice day though.
@W.I. #46, I do not speak for God. I just know how he had and does help me. You forget there are others in history that know of the God Head and passed God's law and grace from one generation to the next. The written word is not current and only supplies the reader of the basics while praying gives much more. You seem prideful and you act as if you are higher than others. I am sorry your knowledge has betrayed you. I pray you sort that out with God's help.
@W.I. #46 so that's why my religion is called a cult. Wow. The book of mormon is not a book I rely upon. Thank you for pointing that out to me. Yes I know the 10 commandments. I read the bible and watch the movie every spring.
And now people are making this name a joke on TikTok🙄
He held my grandmother after she was born in 1908 on a ranch in Tubuc which was a AZ territory but still owned by Mexico, the story goes my family would hide him and his fighters , I was told he would hide weapons there .....
Our army was such a piece of shit to Native Americans. Still frustrates me
almost 7 minutes, not a single shot of arizona or apacheria beyond historical photos
my father taught on WMAT in th 80s, now there's an apache named after me :p
We stole there land and made empty promises and treated them like shit. I'm ashamed of my country as much as I love it. Other events in our history I'm ashamed of as well. You can probably guess what those are.
They didn't steal shit, natives didn't like what they saw and started slaughtering innocent Men women and children. So in doing that, they sealed their own fate. You start a war, you don't get to set the rules, they fuked with the wrong people, just like Mexico and got their ass's beat. So don't cry and bitch cause you lost a war you started. You need to remember the white man hasn't lost yet. And in almost every case hasn't started it, but has always ended it.
Why have they not allowed Geronimo's remains to be returned to Arizona?
So say Geronimo
Say geronimo
Say geronimo
Say Geronimo
Say Geronimo
Say Geronimo
That's interesting, I could have swore that he spent majority of his last days in a prison cell where he walked a path into the floor of the small area?
Well coyote bite you're probably right the way Geronimo was treated was a disgrace to this country, and a disgrace to anyone involved in it.
All he was doing was protecting his land and his people
I named my son after him
It's a damn shame that the Indians can't live out in the public community but anyone from any other countries can come to the United States and live but the Indians who were here before any body have to live on reservations
WTF are you talking about? Native Americans can and do live wherever they want in the US, they are US Citizens.
Um... American Indians don't have to live on the rez. There are many who live in the public community.
@@jdenmark1287 only place I've ever seen them out in public is in Cherokee north Catalina which is a reservation pretty much
@@marycornett3165 "seen them"? You do realize that Native Americans are a pretty diverse group and don't walk around with signs saying they are Cherokee or Sioux, right.
There are approximately 5 million in the US, with about 78% not living on tribal lands. Of those about 2.9 million are associated with a federally recognized tribe.
This information is readily available, why are you so misinformed?
@@jdenmark1287 well I'll just say this I've been to 21 States and only place I seen them was in North Carolina but I haven't been to Arizona or South Dakota where I know a lot of them live
What about Medicine Bluff?
My dad looked just like him
Falling off a horse and laying outside gave him pneumonia?
Damn man he died on my birthday
My tunkasila, was a wicasa wakan, ✌
This doesn’t even speak of his legendary moments
Or that his remains went to skull and bones clubhouse at Yale university.
Story of wolverine and Sabertooth
If Geronimo were to jump from a plane, what would he yell...?
Land’O’Lakes!!!
He looks Polish 😎
I hate the way native Americans and the white Americans never got along
Nathan Bedford Forrest
He was our native John Wick
He was shot by of all people another apace . A army scout.while in held as captive of war
They say he would never eat at Taco Bell
Interesting fact. Before battles it was considered bad luck to order dominos pizza
How was his death tragic, if he could ride a horse, walk w/o a cane, and had no alzheimers at 80yrs old?
Indian girls as young as 14 were sterilized as recently as 1974.

We should have never surrendered to the white eyes we kicked their ass in every battle
In both his life and death he was robbed.
My, tunkasila, aho mitakuye oyasin
Fiction is, most frequently, far more appealing to humans’ need to romanticize the “great” deeds of their tribesmen than actual FACTS.
