If Tencent does take over, I want them to slow things down and have a talk with the Guillemots about what the future holds. Being a Chinese company, a lot of people won’t trust them but I have faith in them to reduce the amount of games and increasing the quality and time spent developing. Surely, that’ll happen right?😅
Like it or not, the industry needs these people to invest in their games. It just sucks that they focus so much on quarterly reports. Meanwhile games like Alan wake 2, which are not predatory at all, are not doing great despite winning many awards and receiving a good reception.

Tha assassins creed game is a guaranteed flop. Not enough fans will buy it after all the controversies and accusations made against it by the anti-woke coalition,.Some people so called games journalists were surprised when Yves G tried to refute the accusations as they believe he should have just ignored them but I think Yves G understands the anti-woke crowd has become more or less representative of the fans. Fans are also customers, something some people in the video game industry have forgotten so when Yves G issued that statement defending AC he knew what was at stake even if some game journalists don't. As it is the game will flop and I suspect that will be the stroke that broke the camel's back so as t speak and tencent will get control of Ubisoft rather quickly after that.
All Ubisoft needs to do is stop forcing their garbage launcher on Steam purchases and finally port over the Assassins Creed Ezio Collection which has been exclusive to the Ubisoft launcher for nearly a decade plus they've only recently started reversing their stance on achievements in their games. They're out of touch and really need a reality check reset, the fact several Ubisoft classics which are on Steam across multiple franchise IP dont have basic achievement support lmfao

I’d welcome a change to Ubi’s leadership. The Guillemot family is failing to produce quality sequels to beloved IP (where is Splintercell) and monetization practices are on par with Tencent. Look at R6: “full price” game, character/ operator sales, monthly subscription, battle pass, and cosmetics. New leadership will only benefit them.
Tencent has just under 10 percent of Ubisoft while the family own a little above 15 percent but also have like 23 percent of the voting rights power. A takeover is possible but for Tencent, it would be difficult they would need to get enough board voting power which I'm sure they have first rights of someone wants to sell their share of the company. Since they don't want to give up controlling power and also have their government on there side as far as blocking any deal to Chinese base company. This could be really tricky I think a lot of y'all or looking at it as fans and want tencent to takeover kinda ignoring all the hurdles ir would take for it to actually happen.
The Guillemot leadership is a contributing factor in the current situation Ubisoft find themselves in. I don’t like the idea of Tencent buying Ubisoft. That said it might produce better games if they did.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would even care if Ubisoft completely fails. We've had many beloved studios go under and few people care. Some people are even happy about it and laugh at it. Factor 5 (Lair) Free Radical (Haze) Pieces Interactive (AITD 2024), etc. Many of the studios we've lost simply made 1 bad game, or in the case of Pieces, it didn't sell well enough. The amount of cope with Ubisoft and Bioware is laughable. Let these studios fail, they are a drag on the entire industry. There is no shortage of AA studios who could replace Ubisoft and Bioware and gamers would be better off because of it.
EA closed a bunch of studios unnecessarily like Maxis Westwood Visceral among others. Some of their games are being made by other EA studios although one could argue those games lack the quality made by the original studio. The Sims being an example. Those AA studios you seem so proud of would just become AA studios and some of them already have problems brewing behind the scenes. Archetype being one of them.
I think Ubisoft is underperforming because of the wokeness they’re inserting into their games. There was/is a lot of controversy surrounding Star Wars Outlaws and also in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. There shouldn’t be controversy when launching a game… Star Wars and Assassin’s Creed should be a Home Run!!

I really wish ubisoft would get their act together. after ac4 skull and bones could have been an easy home run and yet they ruined it. that game was one where I would have really understood if they had pulled the plug midway. star wars outlaws was an unfinished game other than that I think it didn't get the reception it deserved. I am all against the woke stuff , pronouns and stuff but I don't seek wokeness behind every corner. surely kay vess could have been done prettier. but you mostly look at her ass and thats fine :p. ac shadows is a different story, I think they should not have pulled a "samurai of color" our their asses, its a horrible decision.
A character creator with a b00b slider in SW Outlaws would have helped move millions of units. The fact that they probably knew that and didn't do it, is the problem with their business model

Ubisoft has an almost 20,000 workforce meaning to maintain them in a healthy balance most output would have to be financial hits otherwise said number will decrease massively

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would even care if Ubisoft completely fails. We've had many beloved studios go under and few people care. Some people are even happy about it and laugh at it. Factor 5 (Lair) Free Radical (Haze) Pieces Interactive (AITD 2024), etc. Many of the studios we've lost simply made 1 bad game, or in the case of Pieces, it didn't sell well enough. The amount of cope with Ubisoft and Bioware is laughable. Let these studios fail, they are a drag on the entire industry. There is no shortage of AA studios who could replace Ubisoft and Bioware and gamers would be better off because of it.
EA closed a bunch of studios unnecessarily like Maxis Westwood Visceral among others. Some of their games are being made by other EA studios although one could argue those games lack the quality made by the original studio. The Sims being an example. Those AA studios you seem so proud of would just become AA studios and some of them already have problems brewing behind the scenes. Archetype being one of them.
I think Ubisoft is underperforming because of the wokeness they’re inserting into their games. There was/is a lot of controversy surrounding Star Wars Outlaws and also in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. There shouldn’t be controversy when launching a game…
