Calvinism is insulting to God. However, many Calvinists would not think so. But do many modern Calvinists know what John Calvin actually taught, or where his doctrines came from?

Mr. Pearl is also KJV only and hyper-dispensational, both of which are not backed up by the Bible itself. Nothing in the Bible prohibits translating it into the modern vernacular, and to claim that all the other English translations are corrupt is rediculous. The KJV itself was revised in the mid 1700s.
@MartinSpeaks You realize that the Bible pre-existed any of the translations in English, including Geneva. The king James version is the accurate version in the English language. Do some research

If a simpleton hears the gospel being spoken not reading from the KVJ, and believes Jesus is the way, then surley Christ will receive him/her through the anointing of the Holy Spirit of God
Wow. Now I get where some of the extreme disciplinary measures, practiced by my parents and theirs, originally got their start, which led to many of us believing we could not be loved by God, or not wanting anything to do with a god like that.

I won't even pretend to know anything about the Bible even close to your expertise, but this is one verse that has always comes to me when ever I hear of or see someone hurting a child:

You're right , calvinism accuses GOD of hypocrisy and corruptly portrays GOD and HIS righteousness.

@@jelly7310 I believe Jesus was referring to the Apostles and any disciples of his, not actual children. It honestly could apply to both children and the aforementioned, in my opinion, but I think He actually meant any follower of His.

Forget Both Calvinism and Arminianism! NEITHER are TRUE! You are held responsible by God to respond to His Gospel call (see Romans chapter one ) and everyone knows that He is exists and that they must turn their own hearts to seek Him! He promises that all who seek with their whole hearts will find Him. ALL creation testifies to HIM! Children are never atheists!
Once you are truly saved by His undeserved Grace you can't unsaved yourself by any sin! You didn't get saved by being good, and so you can't get unsaved by being bad!!

I have fought the good fight against this blasphemous teaching for 30 years with the help of the Holy Spirit and a love for His Word (alone - no cult writings) and wanting only The Truth - Himself.
No one EVER came up with the beliefs of 'Calvinism' by themselves, by just reading the Word with the help of the Spirit of God. This wicked rubbish has to be TAUGHT / indoctrinated by men - men who know NOT either the love or grace of God - LOVE that just gushes out of Scripture on every page!
Every page in the Bible cries out that God is holy and requires man to turn his heart to God by his own free will! 'Choose this day whom you will serve!' Christ tells us that He will draw ALL mankind to Himself as He is lifted up to pay for all mankind's sin - but just because He draws them to Himself (not willing that ANY should perish - but rather wanting all to come to repentance) this love sacrifice on the cross does not mean that His death COMPELS them to come to Him. NO! Freely shed blood, and offered as a GIFT to ALL - but this offer, this gift must be freely received and imputed.

I was a terrible sinner filled with guilt and shame. I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior I repented, and I turned away from the sin. I don’t do things with purpose anymore that are against God. Now, with every step I take, I pray, and hope that my actions glorify God and spread the good news of salvation found within his loving arms. My little girl was born and she wasn’t well she never matured. She had the mind of a three-year-old all of her life at the age of 16 she died. She was so innocent and beautiful. I know she’s in heaven with Jesus, even though she never really understood the Bible when it’s message, she knew that Jesus loved her and she knew to pray. Man has free will, and we live in a fallen world. If you’re sinning then you need to know there is joy in the angels of God every sinner that repents. Turn away from the sin and praise God and life will be so worth living. And this is being said, by a mother, who lost her little girl to a terrible disease.

AMEN! I recently left the very large and popular church I was attending that had 11 pastors on staff. I had only been attending for a fairly short time as I was church shopping after my former church pastor retired. The pastors rotated preaching duties for the main service and it was not long before I noticed one of the pastors preached more often and his Calvinistic views became more and more apparent. Most church goers have no clue about what Calvinism is and in turn would not even hear it in the sermon. Longer story short, I interviewed the senior pastor and others and discovered that the pastoral staff was divided in their Calvinistic views and some were in line with Armenian views and some did not believe either way! How in the world can any thinking and studied Christian be expected to trust or follow a divided church like that where they did not even agree on doctrine among the pastors???? I was not happy and as a non-calvinist, I left that church of course. The Calvinists really push the word "predestined" as they pound on the table and say "it is in the bible" and build their doctrine around it. I have already typed more than I should as most would only read two lines of any comment. I just recommend much more of your personal study and if you are a Calvinist, I realize it is really really hard to turn from something you have been trained to believe. There are others on UA-cam that focus on Soteriology and I highly recommend looking them up, folks like Soteriology101 on UA-cam. There are others, and I realize that believing in Calvinism is not going to send you to hell, but I think we should spend our life challenging our understanding of doctrine and challenge bad doctrine like Calvinism.
Not enough pastors are willing to openly oppose Calvinism. Whether by ignorance or fear, they do no good service to those looking to them for guidance. There is a common thought which is sometimes proffered by those wishing to "get along" from both sides of the aisle on TULIP in a body of believers. It is said, "I believe you are saved, and you believe I am saved... what difference does it make how we believe we got saved?"🤷♂
However, it does 'matter' in my opinion. And here's why. Satan always looks for the weak link/s in each individual. We all have at least 'one'😎. And Satan has many tools from which to pick which are just right for the job. He's been at it since the beginning. Calvinism is a tool. A perfect trap, devised to separate believers from trusting that God loves them, personally.
It often attracts a certain type who find it hard to resist the temptation to 'know' something which others do not. Or even those willing to follow and trust someone else making that claim. It's really very clever and offers the perfect plausible deniability... because "God did it to them" and they had nothing to do with it🤷🏻♂. They just don't know why he hasn't 'done it' to you. They 'hope' he planned to, but if not, you'll simply bust hell wide open without a prayer.... for no other reason than to bring God more glory🤔🤔 It's insidious.
Good for you! After awhile you can locate the "buzz words" and then you realize Calvinism is being preached! I believe Calvinism IS sending people to hell because "My people perish for lack of knowledge," and we need to be concerned for people who are not getting the true Gospel. They will have a hard time turning to God if the first thing they hear is they may have been created for destruction and have no control over that. Despicable. Sincere (sincerely wrong) preachers like Paul Washer and Voddie Baucham (I've learned a lot from them in other areas) break my heart! Godspeed in your search!

I read it all brother😂... Well said sir... And I agree that we should continue to broaden our understanding until the day of the Lord. Always Judging by the standard set forth in the Covenant... If a doctrine does damage to the ten commandments laid forth there in, it is automatically disqualified. And I think, should require us to learn the folly of them in order to confront those gainsayers. 🙏👍

The only thing we are predestined to are 'blessings in Christ Jesus' and to be 'conformed to the likeness of Christ'. While I am not a Calvinist and do not attend a Calvinist church, something was deeply troubling about this video to me. Maybe it’s the fact that I was in the military, and I understand how as a Christian you are trusting the Lord for your protection. God is sovereign. To be able to fight, and remain effective as a soldier, the thought of some stray bullet killing you or stepping on a random land mine is crippling to the soldier mindset. I also feel it’s crippling to the mindset as a soldier of the Lord. God many times in his word, shows clearly how he is the one directing steps. “The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, As the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”Proverbs 21:1 KJV
Someway we can’t fully understand, God is completely sovereign and in control. Also we also have our will to choose. I’m sure we have a better understanding this into eternity, but I certainly can relate to why soldiers turn to the Lord during their time in combat.

It doesn't say that he controls the heart of the king. But a widow praying to God? Can cause God to change the the king's heart.... This isn't a popular "take" on war, but true nevertheless. When God proclaimed the punishments on mankind for not following his commandments, war and the pestilence that follows are ranked near the top... While many may be forced to defend our families and country, we can be sure that God will hear our prayers., Because the Bible says he will. The apostles got it right and I believe, when they commanded soldiers to be "good soldiers, and don't complain about your pay" 🤣(not a personal stab at Marines or members of the lesser branches😂)... From the first page to the last, personal responsibility is emphasized throughout. We are even reminded. "God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap." Although there are hundreds, that scripture all by itself destroys Calvinism! Just like on the metal Man in Daniel, the doctrines of Rome have spread out among the seed of men. But the printing press brought the "two witnesses" back to life! Some Bible readings should always be the priority. Hey brother have a great life! Lord bless you always! 👍
i am having a bit of trouble understanding as well. i believe God is in full control, but free will does exist also? We can do whatever we want within the earth we were put on, but yet God knows and has a plan he is willing to give us if we ask for it. otherwise it is our choice? but theres no pride in that because, in asking, we know we dont deserve it anyways. theres a great misconception about free will and i only pray i get the right idea about it. these are just my thoughts. doesnt make sense to me when people argue free will doesnt exist. but yet.. that contradicts life itself no?
@@hannahshaheen957 no contradiction at all precious!... Those whose "job" it is to confuse us, twist definitions of words. I hear the term "God is in control" all the time at my church. But no one EVER bothers to qualify the statement with scripture. "God has a plan". We hear it all the time. NEVER accompanied by qualifying scripture. The only defense against your enemies "tricks", is Truth... Jesus tell the religious leaders of his time, (who seem to be batting a thousand all the time concerning errors) "you believe you have eternal life, then search the scriptures, for in them you will find it"... And really it only takes about 80 hours... And your phone can read it to you while you read the script. Back to the point, sorry. God almighty lives outside of time-space and material. He created everything, by the Word of his mouth. And he does what he wants. Including making a "covenant" with mankind. And "delegating" the responsibilities of that Covenant as he sees fit. He declares what is expected from our side of that deal. And declares the positives and negatives of his side of that deal. He does not, anywhere in the Bible, inform us that he will be withheld responsible for our behavior. On the other hand he does declare a day. If you die before that day, your judgment is set. That we will be resurrected nevertheless, to face that judgment. If we wish God to "control" something, that "something" must be placed in his hands through prayer. If you give him your life to run, and are filled with his "" spirit"", or the "mind of Christ", doesn't matter to me how it is said, it indicates obedience to the will of God. An individual would have a much easier time and life if God is ordering your steps. That's a powerful truth. And you can check your "status" continually. For example, if I hear a voice in my head telling me to do something, ira mediately referred to the ten commandments, to see if it falls within the parameters of the Covenant, that Jesus preached. "Am I operating in love?"... The plan? Believe repent and be forgiven. Then "walk" in the spirit of God, in obedience. That alone would be enough. But if you make it to that point, God will go in "front" of you (your future) to lay out blessings! I only have 37 years experience of that happening to me over and over, without praying for them. So I don't know everything. But I know his word is true for sure!... Bless you sister! I will leave it to you to do a little world history research, to find out where these false doctrines come from. 🙏🥰(It won't be as difficult as you might think... And don't stop reading your Bible while you're doing it)
That's pretty much calvinism but will extra steps. Also I'm pretty sure that you don't believe in Free Will (it means that your Will isn't bound by sin.) Very often misunderstood see pelagianism, Agency of choice is a better term, ultimately most calvinists believe what you believe but call it Agency of Choice.
I would agree that there's an Intelligence that works toward the good of all. Serendipities and synchronicities are perpetually arising to meet us on our path.
In Christianity, it's referred to as Grace ---- "by Grace you are saved." The Gnostics referred to it as the Great Mind, the overseeing Presence. It is Jehovah Jireh, the One who always provides for each soul.
Faith is trust in Grace's perfect work, that all things come together for good to those who love God, to those who are in harmony with God within and God without.
Those who are not in harmony within and without receive crucibles, challenges, from which they will eventually gain the wisdom and understanding to love, first themselves, then others.
Augustine also spent about 9 years as a Manichaean which is a sect of Gnosticism founded by a man named Mani. This was before he converted to Christianity.

Honestly, I'm on the fence concerning calvinism vs arminianism. In defense of the calvinists, they do make a strong case from the scriptures for their system of thinking - they didn't just circumvent the bible. So to claim heresy seems like a dangerous move. But there are plenty of scriptures that seem to indicate that anyone can receive salvation - if they confess Christ. So armenianists would say that means people have free will. Calvinists will say the 'anyone' or 'whosoevers' referenced in John 3:16 must be the elect, as the non-elect would never believe in Jesus. Recently, a channel called impact ministries put out a video and in my opinion, made a good case for both views to be true. It's certainly a tough topic to wrestle with. But I always remember the most important point - anyone who believes in Jesus and repents of their sin will be saved. So anyone can be wrong on the theology. And we might never know who's right. But God will not deny you if you truly believe in him and we must never assume that someone is beyond saving.
Thus calvanism is heresy.
I’ve done a lot of research on both and here is the conclusion I have come too personally. I’m not a Calvinist nor am I an Armenian. I’m just a Bible believing Christian. There are faults in both that make them both not completely biblical. Why do we have too pick sides between two different men anyways lol. I find that so silly.
You must believe in Christ to be saved, but man is dead in his trespasses and sins so the Holy Spirit must regenerate him to repent and believe, we can not do it alone. We are saved by grace Ephesians 2 8:9. Calvin just stated salvation truth from the Bible against exactly what this fella teaches. The Bible does not insult God, mans wisdom does.

Interesting video. I’m not sure if I’d ever fit into the Calvinist category, but I enjoy listening to ppl like Spurgeon, Lawson and John MacArthur. A few things:
Calvinists do not believe in infant baptism. Just listen to John MacArthur (arguably the “biggest” Calvinist alive today); Every Calvinist I’ve ever listened to are very much against it. Maybe Calvin was at one point, but Calvinists do not believe that. The Bible is clear that we are born into sin. Furthermore, I remember being a little child and lying and manipulating as soon as I could walk and talk. None are innocent. The Bible is clear on this.
I have no idea who people like Godwell Andrew Chan are who you quote, but God isn’t the cause of all evil. But God certainly allows evil. Or do you think God is too weak to stop an evil act from happening? So if He can stop it, then clearly He allows certain things to happen. He allows us to live, and we do evil all the time. Should God smite all who do evil? Then none would be alive today. What you are doing is judging God’s sovereign will based upon your own flawed human understanding. It’s good because God does it… it’s not good and therefore God does it. He saves whom He wishes and others He does not.

As to what you quote, Jesus did not say to “become innocent like children are.” He said to become _as_ little children; meaning we become dependent, seeking and meek.
Wrong kind of save, but I agree. We’re talking about being physically saved from danger. God spares some and some He does not. Righteous or unrighteous. That does not mean that God does or creates evil; but He certainly allows it at times. And at times He does not. To say otherwise is to imply God is incapable of stopping bad things from happening.
Reformed pastor J.C. Ryle (has some good insight regarding other topics), and Calvin himself believes in infant baptistism. I believe there are a few others.

@@ameliasexton9570 I’ve never heard of Ryle before, but I’m sure some Calvinists do believe in infant Baptism. Just as I’m sure some Baptists believe it as well. But being around a lot of Calvinists and listening to some of the bigger names preach, they’ve all preached against it. In fact, I’ve never heard of a Calvinist who supports it. I don’t think it’s a huge issue tbh, but I think if you believe in it you can still be saved. I think being baptized is to be in obedience to the Lord and not a prerequisite for salvation… and this is what most Calvinists believe and what I do as well. In fact, I learned this from the most popular Calvinist today: John MacArthur.
My history is a bit lacking, but wasn’t there a council who came out and went against some of Calvin’s teachings? I thought that’s how TULIP was created that’s used by Calvinists today. But I’m not sure on that.

I’ve debated online with a few Calvinists, they don’t preach the Gospel the way they believe it . Ie their version of the Gospel is “Jesus died for your sin, if He regenerates you, and gives you the ability to believe and have faith, then you’re one of the elect and will be saved”. Now when I question this they are the first to say “that’s not the Gospel, that’s why we don’t preach it”. It is truly puzzling how they can’t see how paradoxical that is. Ie they don’t preach what they believe because it’s not the Gospel.

There are some differences between Calvinism and Lutheranism. They aren't huge, but enough to separate them. Most of my Calvinist friends don't believe God is the author of evil, but that He leaves men to their own devices and naturally they spiral toward destruction. They say some vessels were created for redemption and some for destruction. They also don't hold to the extreme views about children. It is hard to argue against the sinful nature beliefs. You don't have to teach children to lie. They do it naturally. However, you have to teach them to be truthful. Something that doesn't come naturally. Just an observation. At the least, it speaks to how we are all broken anyway.

I am not a Calvinist but my understanding is that because of original sin we are, as the Bible says, born in sin …… A baby doesn’t sin but has a nature that will reveal itself as the child matures. You don’t have to teach a child how to lie. We are born with a fallen nature hence ‘You must be born again’ The new life in Christ is our Redemption, our entrance to God’s Kingdom, spotless and without blemish. We are washed, made clean from Sin (our nature that we are born with) though the completed work of Christ on the Cross when we repent (turn from our sin) and receive Jesus as our Savior.

Calvinism almost shipwrecked my faith. Instead of giving up, eating,drinking and be merry for tomorrow we die, I kept searching the scriptures.
John chapter 6 is where I found my joy.

If you believe, God chose you. If you weren't chosen, you don't believe, you wouldn't care nor call upon the name of the Lord, and you would find the gospel as foolishness, which is man's natural fallen state since Adam.

Watched the video. Youve done a great job of making emotional appeals to why you dont agree with calvinism but its unwise to make thisnkind of video without even stating your own posistion. Its also telling how youve cherry picked quotes to try to slander a completely orthodox system of theology, and you went as far as to call it heretical. This is difficult for me, I am not fully prescribed to Calvinism or Arminianism as I see both having points that make sense to me when I read scripture. The thing I wrestle with the most between the two isn't election and predestination as I don't believe I will fully understand that on this side of eternity, however the difficult part for me is GOD sovereignty. Bring GOD I feel I must view him as completely sovereign in all things in creation, to view him as not sovereign in some areas seems to me to give GOD some level of ineffective nature which obviously doesn't sit well, then fully sovereign makes sense, but then that leads to he is Ultimately in controll of everything period. As it pertains to election even though I already resigned I won't know or understand it in this life I tend to believe it is less GOD picking and choosing asuch as GOD isn't subject to his creation, meaning he is not bound by time. Not being bound by time his is truly the beginning and end and knows exactly who will come to him throughout the history of humanity. From the garden of Eden he already knew every human who would or wouldn't come to Christ. That doesn't take away free will, and allows him to know from the beginning who the elect will be.
I personally think that both are riddled with heresy.
Hopefully we're on the right track to correct doctrinal understanding if we're skeptical of both.
If God is sovereign and he decided that people should have free will, then that's His sovereign choice, isn't it?

And yet, He created them anyway. Do they still have a chance to be saved? Not unless God has fallible foreknowledge, which is impossible, for that would mean He is not omniscient and not God at all, which is unthinkable.
@@christrescuedme2182 I believe the KJV Bible whole heartedly. I know that God can see, hear, be everywhere, etc.. all at the same time. He is not bound by time, space, and matter like we are. The problem I have with Calvinism is that they must believe that God created people destined for hell that He had no intention to call to His purpose. I have a real problem with this. I know that He knew where everyone would end up but He is not willing that any should parish. I know He has to grant us repentance and faith and the Bible is all about Jesus Christ and His goodness and not ours. We are not good, not even one of us. Even Arminians are still faced with this biblical fact and cannot just blame-shift all of this on Calvinists for what the Arminian's themselves must also acknowledge according to their very own doctrine of God's foreknowledge.
Unless, they want to take their Arminianism to its logical conclusion of open theism, which would be complete apostasy, for that god would no longer be omniscient.

I grew up in the Lutheran Church, and that church did not teach lack of free will, or predestination. It is disappointing to learn about some of Martin Luther's views. Thank you for the video, please do more like this
It must depend on the individual minister I guess. I had a neighbor one time that was a young Lutheran minister and he was just as you said. He understood free will, redemption by the grace of God, and taught it very well. He later moved up north somewhere and taught at a Lutheran seminary.
Now I kind of understand where our mayor and city council and people are coming from because they all go to that church the Lutheran Church.
We do have free will to an extent though God does soften and harden hearts and directs our path. There is also predestination in the bible. Its in the bible. Read romans. Says he made some for the day of destruction as hebis the potter and what right donwe have to question his creation. Also God does say he brings alone brings blessing AND calamity. A question I have posed and have not been able to get an answer on: Was Christs atonement a completed one or a potential one?
In other words, is there still unfinished justification based solely on an individuals choice to accept or reject God salvation?

It's not free will, it's the will in bondage to sin; that is, as far as the natural man's will is "free", it is free only to act without love for God.
If God had snuffed the life out of Adam and Eve in the Garden for their sin then no children would have ever been abused. Yet, knowing all things that would come to pass because of it, including every child that would be abused in the future, he forebore righteous justice anyway and allowed them and their sinful progeny to live. God is not the author of evil but by his perfect plan he is allowing evil to persist in the world until the end of the age. Whether you like it or understand it, God uses all things for his glory, both the good and the bad.

Interesting and vital teaching Pastor. I have argued against the strong elements of Calvinism for years. That being said. We sin because we are sinners. We are not sinners because we sin. Any parent who has tried to dicipline a two year old knows that all are born into sin. That is why we must be born again. Certainly little children should not be demonized. Jesus loved the little children because they are the most humble and teachable. Predestination seems to be an unaswered question. Certainly all can be saved but why do two people of the same family, raised the same way be so different. One can be seemly called. The other hating his brother similar to Cain and Able. God raised up Pharoah for His purpose. ???

As a calvinist how do you know that you're chosen? How do you know that you are the one that God has picked to be saved? Does he contact you in some way and sayes yes you're one of the good ones. I've always wondered that how does a person know if it's not by Christ's sacrifice and the shedding of his blood how else would you know that you're saved?

What doctrine do you follow? I'm having a very difficult time with my faith because of many things that have affected me, especially lately. I think you are a good man and will give the the right replies. I'm really struggling right now. I'm to the point of just giving up. I've been to a lot of churches around here and all of them together aren't worth 10 cents to me. My church was sold and the person that bought it turned it into a bar. That was a giant kick in the crotch for me especially since my father was a deacon there and I helped in paying for many of the repairs to that church just before our superintendent walked in and told the congregation that a certain Easter years ago would be the last service there. All the funds were taken and the church was sold. That was almost the last time I went to church anywhere. The next church was at a Pentecostal church and it wasn't any good either. The next was where the preacher was a drunk. What do you think?
You are the temple, you are the church. You can worship him on a personal level and not at a pegan church. God is with you. Don't give up on him Jesus because he will never give up on you!

Like I said I am sorry that I had to put it this way to point you to another pastor that does an amazing job when it comes to teaching the Bible rightly divided. Just like pastor Pearl does.
Finding a good church is difficult in this fallen world, but they are out there. I would recommend looking for an independent Baptist church that believes that the King James Bible is the word of God. A church that is not Calvinistic nor Arminean. A church that does not teach that God has replaced Israel with the church. A church that sings from the hymnal instead of performing on a stage like a rock concert. A church where the preacher and others welcome you and don't mind if you happen to sit where they usually sit. I know this seems like a tall order, but God still has those who truly make it all about Him and those churches are intimately special to Him. It may require several visits to churches before finding one, and it may require a longer than desired drive to attend, but you will grow in your walk big time when you find that body of Bible believers. The building does not make up the body of Christ, but assembling within a local body of believers is pleasing unto God and super beneficial to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am not sure where you live, but God has His faithful scattered throughout. I will be praying that you find the right church. God bless you and stay the course.

The passage about Jacob and Esau is not a passage about any doctrine of salvation - rather it is showing that God is going to choose to bring His Messiah to bird to offer the gift of salvation through the family line of Jacob. Just a well, as from what you quote Esau was already known to God to have his heart not on the things of God but on the flesh. He took Philistine and Ishmaelite wives just to upset his parents.

I think that one of the greatest insults to God? Is to take The Preaching Of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery of the Gospel, and attribute it to John Calvin or any man! This is The Revelation of Christ unto His Church, His Body, which He hath purchased with His Own Blood!

I can read the NKJV as well and understand this is what would happen in the last days. I pray that you and others that read this message do not look down on those that read from a Bible other than the KJV. Salvation does not come from a particular version of Scripture, but from repenting, believing in the Gospel, and abiding in the True Vine and sanctification via The Holy Spirit.

God is in control but that doesn’t mean he has to control everything little detail. He gave us the free will to accept or reject Him, to obey or disobey and to truly love him or not. God is so big and in control that he can allow man free will and still work that into his plan.

This is my issue. Everyone gets bent out of shape on free will vs predetermanism, but for me the issue is sovereignty. Sovereignty is one of those things you can either be or not be, there is no partly sovereign. My own conscience will not allow me to view GOD in anyway but fully sovereign.
So if God is sovereign and ordained that man should have free will, you're ok with allowing Him that discretion?
Pastor, this is something I have been studying (struggling with) a while. You read some interesting things I've not, I have labored through Institutes of the Christian Religion and more, I listened to many reformed teachers over the years, and many not reformed. My strategy has come to this conclusion; stop dealing with the writings from all these theologians and read only the Bible, I only care what God has to say. I have pages full of notes with scripture on the topic, some I'm sure you will highlight, with words like foreknew, predestined, chosen, prepared, appointed, called, purpose, elect and the like. My simple reasoning reading the Word has shown me God is omniscience, we all have free will, God just happens to already know what you decided before you did. Psalms 147:5, Hebrews 4:13. I think the train analogy explains it well. Even though we struggle with our flesh Romans 7:15-25, and God uses both evil and good to his purpose, several examples. I greatly respect you Sir, and look forward to your teaching on this.
The problem with attributing predestination to foreknowledge is that makes it all about works and leaves no room for grace.
We aren’t saved by our works. Fact. Grace is unmerited favor. We get no credit for our salvation. Jesus gets it all.

"Predestination" is a Bible Word. "Hell" is also a Bible Word. Many people refuse to believe the Bible regarding these Words.

"Believe" is a word in the bible, yes, but without context it does not mean much. Believe in what? What the world tells you?
"Murder" is also a word in the bible... So is "idolatry" and curse... Does that mean we can look at these isolated words and then draw our own conclusion of their meaning. Just because the word is there, does it mean God condones these things?...
It is exactly the problem - when people start taking words, phrases and verses out of their context to make them mean whatever you want them to. This causes confusion, bible illiteracy and opens the door to all kinds of false doctrines "supported" by verses taken out of context.

THANKS FO R POSTING against the Calvinist doctrine. I've never been a Calvinist. The only thing I knew was the old joke that John Calvin fell down the stairs on the way to breakfast, got up and said "I'm glad that's over".
After experiencing a personal tragedy I had an old friend call to offer comfort. He said "at least you can know this is God's best for you today"🤯🤦🏻♂ He's become a Calvinist. I began my study.. I knew it was nonsense but it took some time to properly frame their misuse of scripture and their proof texts back into proper context. The level of cognitive dissonance necessary to maintain the Calvinist positions is mind-numbing. Evidently they are impervious to it. I would encourage you to spend more time addressing it. This theology has exploded among many young Christians who are sorely in need of truth and answers to the polished arguments Calvinists bring to ensnare the unprepared.
What specifically do you disagree with Calvinism on? I'm not necessarily a Calvinist, but I am not an Arminian either. I am simply a man who has read scripture and discerned from it what the text says.

Calvinism is found in the scripture, plain and simple.
God is all knowing and does not have to learn anything new he knows everything thats happened and is going to happen.
Except for all the Scriptures that make it implausible as a theological system, but whatever lets you sleep at night.

Of course almighty God is All-Knowing! All Christians believe that about our God! But He also tells us that He is loving and fair and just and will do all that is RIGHT! You are confusing His divine attributes with Sovereignty - in His divine sovereignty He knows us from start to finish and he loves ALL of us who He has made (John 3:16). But because He sovereignly chose to give us free will - He holds us responsible to look for Him and to want Him - like the way He wants us.

I don't see the difference between predestination and fate when viewed from an eternal lense.
I believe we have a small amount free will, but that our eternal fate is predestined and any major apex points in our lives are predestined.
For instance, my wife had a nde from a failed suicide attempt. When I was resuscitating her, she was began tearing up saying "take me with you". Then the Lord spoke through her as to let me hear. He said "no, I saved you for him in highschool".
My wife, still unconscious, began weeping.
When she woke up, she didn't remember any of this.
Anyway, she had a failed suicide attempt in highschool as well. This was 3-4 years before met her.
The Lord predestined that we meet amd marry and have children. I thought I was acting autonomously, but I clearly was not with regards to meeting my wife.
All I know is that my salvation was predestined before the foundations of the world, and man can not come before Christ unless the Father draws him ( John 6:44 ). Man is spiritually dead and it is God who awakens him ( Ephesians 2:1 ) because men love darkness rather than light ( John 3:19 ) and will choose darkness over light 11 times out of 10.

Our church has always taught that if you go to hell it’s no one’s fault but your own. If Calvinism were true, every evil act committed throughout history including someone going to hell could be charged to God’s account.
Man's fallen state is the reason that anyone goes to Hell, if they have not believed on the Lord Jesus.
The issue this man makes is that he seems to not understand that no one is worthy of Heaven, but that God has chosen his sheep before the foundation of the world. I'm certain he understands this, but the Bible is very clear that it is God who chooses us, not us choosing Him. We simply respond and call upon the name of the Lord through the hearing of the word and the Holy Spirit drawing us to him.
If what this man says is the complete truth, then it would be mankind being the initiator of salvation through his own efforts, and that is just not true. God is the author of salvation.
A lot of Arminians get caught up in the idea of hell. They think that since God did not choose some people that somehow them going to hell is wrong. When you read the scripture, the idea of an eternal torment seems to be only reserved for satan, the fallen angels, the beast, the false prophet, and perhaps those who take the mark of the beast. For the general unbeliever, it appears that they will simply go into the lake of fire, wail and gnash their teeth for a period of time on the day of judgment, and then simply be burned up and eternally destroyed, the second death. It isn't eternal torment for these people. The Punishment, the eternal separation of God, not having eternal life, is what is eternal punishment. This isn't a Calvinist belief. However, looking at scripture, I seem to find that every denomination or sect teaches things that are simply unnecessary.
Many Calvinists do support infant baptism. Infant baptism is unnecessary as baptism is a public profession of salvation already attained through Jesus Christ. Water cannot save anyone. Believer's baptism is what it is for. Water baptism doesn't save, but unfortunately many do believe such, and this is what Catholics and some protestant denominations believe.
That said, Calvinists are correct on predestination, in my opinion, on once saved always saved, as well as some other notable points.

The truth is Calvinism. Read Ephesians 1, Romans 1 and John 6 carefully. The issue comes down to the fact that we are all completely corrupt due to our federal representative's sin (Adam). We in our sinful state hate God. The problem with Armininianism, or the middle road as you alude to (also called Semi-pelagianism) is they claim God cannot violate Man's free will. But if this is the case, all are doomed because the scripture is clear that none is righteous, and the heart is unfathomably wicked "who can know it?". Consequently God must radically change our will so that we desire God (born again). Our natural will is to live Sin, God must violate our free will which is in bondage to sin. In the same way good parents must violate their childrens free will. Look how all 3 years olds are commited to sin and parents must restrain them and limmit their ability to act on their sinful desires. Adults are really no different than 3 year olds in this respect, and we in our sinful state crave sin, and are only restrained in our passions due to consequences and or extensive corrective training in childhood. However, our minds remain corrupt with out God's radical intervention.

If you read VOLTAIRE'S " Candid" book, he parodies what the Catholic church used to say at the time, which is such a fatalism ... * All for the best, in the best of all possible worlds " ... In other words, not our problem, if something bad happens. It's all determined by God. ... ( What the hell ?). Invite them to channels like Soteriology101, which primarily deals with this topic. Mike Winger also has some great in-depth teachings on why Calvinism isn't biblical.
Why don't you sit down with them and ask then why they believe what they believe and then use the scripture to try and dispute it
it's about as simple as the context of what was predestinated from the foundation of the world. Jesus being the method of salvation is what was predestinated. But you'll never convince someone who is invested in their theological understanding of the passage if they don't want to be convinced.
It's like their assertion of Christ saying that no one can come unto him unless the father draws them.
They have to completely disregard the latter statement of "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, shall draw all men unto me ".
They have a fundamental lack of recognition of the difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God.
They fail to recognize that Jesus, in the first statement, was speaking to Jews who were seeking discipleship in His ministry before Calvary. The second statement is Jesus giving prophecy of how salvation will be offered to all after Calvary.
Calvinists lack dispensation in scripture. They apply everything written to themselves and come up with heresy as a result.
They are into lordship salvation and replacement theology, even though Jesus, Peter, James, Paul and John, all indicated otherwise.
It's like a Catholic believing that Jesus called Peter the Rock. You'll never convince them that they're wrong, even though Jesus called Peter Satan in the very same chapter.
Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Either the Pope doesn't understand that the church isn't the kingdom of heaven or he fully understands and just doesn't care. Which do you think it is?

Calvinism is so synonymous with the other cults that apply Scripture erroneously to themselves and I am astonished at how blinded they are to it. The problem is that our will is never entirely free. There are too many things affecting it, from minor stressors to the major distortions of immaturity, terror, hormonal chemistry or mental illness. Not even secular law abdicates you from your culpability or responsibility, "because I was hormonal that day," or "the devil made me do it." We are all continuously being petitioned to do something, whether it be advertisers begging us to choose their product over another, or temptations of the flesh, or demonic invitations, it matters not, our will to choose is always ours, and we are free to choose as we want. No, Sir, our will is very much free, unless we willingly give it up. Most people just do not realise that all our choices lead to only 1 out of 2 outcomes, but you are still free to choose.
What God expects of us is obedience, nothing more. He gave us His Holy Spirit to guide us and give us the power to overcome all temptations and to be obedient to God. Further more, His Son, Jesus Christ, came to die for our sins, which means that if we choose to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Redeemer, all of our sins are forgiven AND we are made new creatures, free from our past. God has already done everything for us, all we need to do is accept Him into our lives and ask Him to teach and guide us. We also have His living Word and studying it will give us all the information and answers we need!

When I was 12 my mother married a catholic and converted us. I could never get into it and could never get around them doing nothing about the abuse of children so being confirmed at 16 I left and never went back. Got nice and lost and confused until about 32 to 33. Started reading the kjv and got saved.
The whole point of this story is that when you get saved and believe with your whole heart he will change you. There are things I used to do 2 to 3 years ago that I couldn't make myself do now if I tried. When I do sin I feel terrible and have to confess when I pray.

Your story touched me. Reminds me alot about myself. I am 38 now and I got saved 13 years ago.
It was also the KJV that really got me into studying the Word. The more I learn, the more I want to know, but I first had to learn how to surrender and trust in Him.
I don't know if you know Chuck Missler, but his videos on studying each book of the bible verse by verse helped me immensely. Check out his videos on the rapture or the bible codes or just start following his verse by verse commentary of the bible books. Hope hope you will be blessed as much by his teachings as I have!

This is very misleading. Many of the prominent Calvanists of today believe children go to heaven, John Macarthur even wrote a book about it.
RC Sproul, Washer, Spurgeon, Macarthur etc all affirm infants as being saved, using David's baby boy he had with Baishaba that died as their primary example.
You should know this, you claim to do due diligence but on the part of calvanism (silly term, reformed is the correct term), you misrepresent it.
In the examples you showed here, the authors are saying the baby is a human and therefore a sinner with a sin nature, not that babies go to hell when they die.
Let's say they did mean that, that's not what modern reformers believe is it?.... I don't know , have never heard it said or ever read a single book or article from any calvanist that would agree with you here. Try to find one?...just ONE!? You will not find a single one.
Reformers are huge on the Bible, the Bible clearly teaches two things, that man is a sinner, and that babies go to the Lord, not to hell.
This video appears to be thorough but is very sloppy!!! Go and engage with reformed theology advocates, read their books etc, stop strawmanning the position as a whole by digging up and cherry picking out of context writings from centuries ago, or fringe ideas that don't represent the theology as a whole.
I heard a staunch, anti-calvinist, free-willer say that babies born from unsaved mother's go to hell. He feared for the unborn being aborted. It was a Calvinist that corrected that thinking for me.
I am around many Reformed believers (with the exception of one) that believe all babies go to heaven.
I like a lot of Pearle’s teachings. I think this anti Calvinist stems from his time at false teacher school where they beat this stuff into him.
You have to humble yourself before the Word of God and just believe what it says. If you do that it’s clear God does the choosing.

I think he struggles with the concept of it as a whole. Quote mining people that identified as "calvanists" (I really don't like that term), isn't an honest way to assess the view.
They are excellent books. Another devastating book is " The Other Side of John Calvin" study no. 6 from head to heart by missionary ( retired now in his 90s) Henry R Pike ( Randy). It really shows what kind of man Calvin was and his deeds from the city council of Genevas records etc . Colin John aussie.
Whatever faults you may find with Calvin's life, it is the doctrines of Sovereign Grace that are named after him, yet espoused by all the Reformers.
