My friend’s parents brought hit Dad’s ‘03 Beetle up to Illinois from Mexico and apparently they drove it from the part of Mexico his Dad is from to western Iowa (near where my parents used to live too!), then loaded it into his trailer and brought it the rest of the way here. From what he said, they got waved and and thumbs up the rest of back home with it and the reactions from the US/Mexico border to where he met them was the same.
It's pretty cool how you make the cars 'emote'. Nicely done. If one wanted to change the one wheel peel at 4:14 into a proper burnout, they could change the rear differential from open to limited slip. I even checked the mod to make sure it was available.
I remember thst I used to watch videos made like this 15 years but they were made with San Andreas mods. I'm glad that this type of stuff is still made. Also in Beam NG now as the graphics and crash physics are generations better.
The truck from Duel is most likely a stock Peterbilt 281 with a reckless road rager behind the wheel, and while possessed, Christine cannot overcome the mechanical limitations of her manufacturing. Those vehicles have set and limited performance statistics, that Peterbilt will top out at 90mph while Christine doesn't fare much better with a slightly more sufficient 125mph estimated if you had a long enough run-up. Horace has much better odds because he was made with the original design Herbie had, but instead of love, he was powered by hate. With that in mind, it would be reasonable to suggest that Herbie and Horace maintain similar performance statistics. Did I forget to mention that Herbie can go fast enough to be competitive in NASCAR, and he actually won a race, which requires a top speed of 200mph? He outruns the Peterbilt and Christine easily.
He might outrun the truck and Christine alright, but seems also to be bond to the laws of driving physics, means he would need a NASCAR oval or a many miles long straight track to get to such speeds, and cornering would always slow him down, allowing his predators to catch up ;) But for real: in the movies, both the Peterbilt and Christine are bond to the laws of physics and driving alright, while the Beetles are pictured more comic-style: superpowers beyond anything Newtonian pyhsics allow for. Therefore, indeed Horace might have the best chances in the fight, maybe catching up with Herbie on some roof top or after a chase with many impossible jumps across the tops of all the containers, where neither the truck nor Christine can keep up. Maybe The Car... that one also isn't bond to physics; while not comic-style, but devil-style.
K.I.T.T. destroyed K.A.R.R. Christine was crushed. And I know Peterbuilt was destroyed. Goliath got hit with a cutting lazer. So, K.I.T.T & Herbie are the only two living Cars left.
