HI EVERYONE! MY VIRTUAL CLASSES ARE NOW LIVE! HEAD OVER TO MY IG BIO TO SIGN UP! I HOPE YOU ALL ARE READY TO EMBARK ON THIS JOURNEY TOGETHER AND LEARN! I CANNOT WAIT TO VIRTUALLY MEET YOU GUYS!
Overwork and underpaid is right. People who have never worked on the floor will never understand and I’m sick of everyone else saying that nurses make too much money. As MS nurse, I used to get anywhere from 8-10 pts, it was horrific. Left bedside and have not missed it
I love your transparency! I didn't go the "typical" bedside route...and it's nice to see another nurse in our cohort go another direction with their career! Great video!
Hi. I can identify with the 11:00 discharge time....we sometimes don’t even get a d/c order until 10:30....then pharmacy has to review meds, teaching to be done and HOPEFULLY transport is coming in less than 30 mins that day. I have been a bedside nurse for almost 28 years and I get the need to get patients out in a timely manner, but why do people who don’t work on the units write nursing policy?
This is the best thing I’ve read! You are so right! Nurses who have worked the floor should be writing these policies, maybe we wouldn’t be so burned out 😕
I work nights on a Neuro floor (stroke and spine pts with a mix of Ned surg) our ratio is 7 to 1 - sometimes 8. It’s beyond exhausting and stressful. Aesthetic nursing has been something I’ve thought about for a while. Your videos have been super helpful!
@@NurseJanetG NJ. I actually have a family friend who is an aesthetician and works for a plastic surgeon. So I’m going to reach out to her for some info and help.
Omg! You legit lived my life and are living my dream. Im on the same unit that you are referring to and I totally can relate to everything in this video! I also want to get into aesthetics nursing. So your videos are so helpful. Keep posting!
Just started as an assistant nurse (still in nursing school) and am already thinking I don't want to do bedside nursing....it's a lot of abuse both physical and mental and the environment is so understaffed and high stress. I feel like I'm gonna burn out.
I would definitely look into other parts of nursing. You can gear more towards and office environment, travel nursing, education. Opportunities are endless!
I deactivated IG a while ago but I've missed your informative videos! I'm not even in nursing lol I got fillers from you back when you were at Pure Touch and you were amazing 🤩 Your hair looks bomb btw!
I finished watching the video and the whole thing about hospitals feeling like a business and the politics/hierarchy behind is what always put me off of nursing. I initially wanted to be a nurse and did other things to get my foot in the door and observe from a distance and LAWD did I realize I could NOT handle that. Nurses really are often under appreciated and it's like they get all the s*** from every angle of it. Your words at the end of the video about overcoming that fear really hit me though, and even as an aspiring IO psychologist (not a nurse), this was very relatable and gave me hope!
you are soooooo sweet thank you so much! lol that hair girl its the preggo hair! You know you make a very good point about the hospital! I volunteered and learned that it was exactly what I wanted to do, until I was actually doing it lol
Hi Nina! I did a whole video on classes and discussed pricing of those that I remember 😊 Hope it helps! Here is the link: What Classes I Took in My Journey to Becoming an Aesthetic Nurse
Can you please do a video on how to build your aesthetic portfolio from scratch? How do you build your clientele esp if the clinic you work for is slow and it’s your first year/month into aesthetics and you haven’t established that “trust” yet?
Hi thanks for your video. it is really helpful. I am thinking about injector as a side job and my medical director wants me to get some cerfiticate. I found Empire medical training. Do you have any opinion about this site? Thanks!
Hi Kim! I would definitely look into Leslie fletchers class. I have a video of the classes I took amd so many people have taken my recommendations and taken Leslie’s course! She is the best 💕 and such a staple in this community
@@wskim5526 Omg my friend and AMAZING trainer, Neekan (the beauty pa) is in Denver. You should reach out to her. Empire training is good but a one on one is ideal. You will feel so empowered and comfortable.
Hi! I’ll be graduating nursing school in June and I’m considering aesthetics but I also want to at least try bed side first. Do you think a different unit could have been different for you? Maybe L&D or being an OR nurse? Also... do you think it’s more common for a nurse in aesthetics to make more than bedside or it just depends on where you work and your effort you put into it? I’ve been hearing it’s difficult to find a doctor that’s willing to give a nurse a shot at injections.
this is a GREAT question! I think about that A LOT! I guess I will never know lol. I can't speak to other states, but I have a general idea on what different hospitals pay new grad nurses vs more seasoned nurses. In my opinion, the actual hourly rate in aesthetics is higher BECAUSE you aren't there for 12 plus hours and you can work the same 3 days. I think aesthetics has more potential if you get to the top vs bedside nursing it takes years to be seasoned and work your way to the top. I am sorry it is difficult :( have you tried finding a med spa that does lasers? injections?
@@NurseJanetG thank you I appreciate the info! I live in California, the inland empire to be exact. I haven’t started looking at medspas yet but I know of a few in the surrounding areas.
L&D can be e trembly stressful. My dream was to be a L&D RN.....I did it.....but it was very stressful. Couldn’t have done for years in end like some. I ended up working on the high risk antepartum unit, still OB, but a much better fit to my personality. Just semi retired after over 21 years there!

I agree! I don't understand that either. For the amount of work that is done, the compensation should definitely be a tad bit more IMO!

Wow i cant even handle 4
I hate bedside. I thought traveling would be a good change. I was wrong. Now I’m not sure what to do but I am up for the challenge of finding out
Because traveling is still bedside. I thought money would make me happy but that train wore off. I want to be HAPPY in my career. Not miserable.
