Unless there is a more advanced version of this mixer coming out, I dont get it? Why would A&H release a mixer where they know the filter setup is going to be a deal breaker for so many? Crazy!
***** its amazing, I still have to practice the samples and basically the pads on general coz I'm new to that but everything above the pads are where my home is
looks like a nice mixer! I myself prefer the Pioneer DJM series just because of the more easily controlled effects module...and the whole bit of the color FX I also like on the individual channels. With that said, I like the build qualities of A&H mixers a little better. More sturdy. I see that the CDJs are Pioneer 2knxs mk1, I own those...but also the Gemini MDJ-1000 media player. I see you guys did a video review of their CDJ 700, I was just wondering if thee would be a video review of the MDJ-1000? I see a lot of similarities between the 2knxs mk1 with these Gemini players....
Lovely looking mixer but I've had nothing but trouble with mine, the first 11 months it was fine but then all of a sudden it stopped working so i sent it back to Allen & Heath. They advised there was soldering issues from when it was made. They sent it back but didn't package it properly so I got it back with a broken cross fader and metal work damage, so i sent it back to them. They have had it for over 2 months now, I posted it back on the 3rd January and it's now March. They advised it could be 12 weeks for the metal work to be replaced and they are still waiting on the fader. I do not trust A&H now, a brand that I had a lot of loyalty too, but when things go wrong they really go wrong.
Thanks, they are currently fixing the crossfader and sending it back. I can't wait 12 weeks so they are going to post me the metal casing which I will get fitted myself in 12 weeks time. At least it will be working but I ill never purchase anything from Allen & Heath again.
Having issues setting this up with 2x xdjs & Traktor, buttons on the mixer are doing things they shouldn’t, such as pressing the effects on button starts a 4 beat loop! where can I get some advice please?
Hey Olly, sorry you're having troubles! Definitely head to the forums of the companies in question and get some help from the community (Pioneer DJ, NI, and Allen & Heath). Best of luck to you!
I just noticed the mistake in the thumbnail today by having this video in my recommended ones : The image is a PX5 but the text says "Denon DJ SC5000 Prime Review".
A&H should face the reality and add Pioneer like filter knob under each channel with same functionality. Left low pas - right high pass. Gimmicky 3 button filter is thing of the past (or should be additional, however separate filters under each channel should be a standard now. Even Native Instruments and other brands are doing it. It's simply logical evolution and common sense. Plus FX screen is a joke. What is it? - they got good deal form some smart-watch maker? LOL! I m waiting for next one.
Pioneer isn't perfect neither.... for one it would be nice for an effects on off button on each channel lol...besides a few other things I wouldn't mind.
mikelo303 the reality is that when you have 2 filters, wich are hp lp and bp selectable, you can mix with the filters, also with resonance control for each of them, those are much versatile then on the pioneer mixers. Thing is, AH decided to put only one vcf on this mixer. Now that is a pitty.
Sandor Vennink yes i know, but i was replying to the fact that somebody said, pioneer filters should be standard, i find those to limited. I own a db4 wich is way more versatile
My next mixer will have dedicated filter knobs like in Pioneer mixers or in NI mixers. Period. I don't care which brand will be. Filters under EQ's is God damn standard now if you like it or not. A&H should stop pretending to be a special snowflake and start acting like company that cares about DJ workflow.
I personally don't like LP/HP filter dials. I've used them on NI controllers and also Vestax and I would always shoot past the centre-point. After using the internal FX, I'd much prefer 2 VCF filters and I'm also saddened to see A&H have omitted the LFO on this model as well. I think A&H might have tweaked the pots since these 1st reviews as I've found the feedback from those on my PX5 have the same feel as on my Xone:92. This is unlike the EQ dials on the DB4 which lack any sensitivity at all and the action cheapens the experience using that mixer. Considering the FX out to USB means there is always the possibility to add that LP/HP filter to each channel if it's really a make or break deal.

I JUST GOT MY PIONEER DDJ RB TODAY!
Nice! What do you think?

Paolo Mojo - 1983 (Eric Prydz Remix)
Sound like `Dettmann and Klock - Dawning` to me
Mixes perfectly with Nic Fanciulli - Lucky Heather ;)
Great review...
Much appreciated as always :)
Great debut
Cheers Phil :)
no problem.

thanks for great review. does the level knob in the effects section act as the return function with external effects?
The sound is the same like xone 96?

Rather have the pioneer 750mk2 than this
Shit mixer, I played on one tonight. Felt cheap
Never heard anyone refer to anything Allen & Heath as "feeling cheap" before. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
