The x-fader is not meant for scratch at all, very true, this is because Allen & Heath are designed for techno, not hip hop. It's an amazing analog mixer with outstanding warm sound and that little digital part with the efx is solid. I love it.
Lovely looking mixer but I've had nothing but trouble with mine, first 11 months it was fine but then all of a sudden it stopped working so i sent it back to Allen & Heath. They advised there was soldering issues from when it was made. They sent it back but didn't package it properly so I got it back with a broken cross fader and metal work damage, so i sent it back to them. They have had it for over 2 months now, I posted it back on the 3rd January and it's now March. They advised it could be 12 weeks for the metal work to be replaced and they are still waiting on the fader. I do not trust A&H now, a brand that I had a lot of loyalty too, but when things go wrong they really go wrong.
Blaze- I need your opinion about the PX5 and when you get your hands on that Denon DJX1800. For the price, the PX5 sonically, with the effects and filters is a hands down winner IF I were to purchase a replacement for my Traktor Z2. The PX5 is Traktor Certified, the Denon DJX1800, for right now is not. NI is also having a sale on the Krontrol S4 right now for $599, but I already have Traktor Scratch Pro 2 installed and running with my Z2. If you were ME, what would be your choice after you checked out the Denon DJX1800? Bro, as always another great review. You coming down to AC next week for the DJ Expo?
I will be at the expo next week! the X1800 is a beast, but it is not and may never be Traktor Certified. That leaves you with this, the Z2, or the S4 for Traktor right now. I like the Z2 the best for compact size and the MIDI controls and overall feel. The S4 is better for 4 decks obviously. The PX5 is great for 4 decks and has those built in effects that rock. Its up to the style of DJ you want to do. Remember the PX5 has no MIDI controls so browsing and cue points and loops will be more difficult or will require another controller...

Thank you very good, I just Order mine now just waiting for the Demo i hope very soon.
i can't decide between this analog mixer and a djm 750 mk2 or a used 850 or 900 nexus (first version). what do you think?
I would probably go with this or the NEXUS 900...
Can you preview tracks with traktor pro with this mixer without have an external sound card like you do with the DB4?
Well put together video as always...!
Thanks!
I still have a BOZAK :)
What turntables would you recommend to pair with this mixer?
Shawn Olheiser sl 1200 if you come across any, if not, any hanpins will do. Stanton t150, audio technica at lp 1240, plx 1000, etc.
Damn if there was afilter for each channel that would seal the deal for me
me too. kind of boggles the mind as to why not.
How much bro? When you gonna bring in that Denon X1800?
This is about $1200... The Denon Prime setup review is coming soon!
