I just noticed that Bill is reading a Playboy and Holden is reading a National Geographic. It cracks me up when Holden peaks over at the Playboy. Great detail.
I was just going to leave a comment regarding that! There's so many shots where we can visually see the contrast between Ford and Tench. Ford is reading National Geographic with formal attire because his character is studious and professional, if a bit uptight. Tench on the other hand is far more laid back with his playboy, light pink shirt and whacky tie. Ford peaking hints at his sexual frustration(we later find out he hasn't really dated anyone since high school, given that his character is about 30 this is understandable lol).
Easily one of the cleanest and most perfect montages I've ever seen, that's David Fincher baby. it's up there with that one in the lab in Breaking Bad.
I thought Mindhunter was slow and the first episode was so hard to get into, but the second episode was much improved and by this montage I was hooked, I’m 5 episodes in now and it’s absolutely brilliant !! Definitely up there with the likes of Fargo and Line of Duty
One of the best montages ever. The greatest compliment I can give is that it’s impossible for me to hear this song without thinking of the image of a coffee cup slipping forwards on a car seat as the liquid falls backwards
One of the greatest montages in TV history. So much is conveyed in such a small amount of time. You gain a better understanding of both characters and see their chemistry in action. On top of this, the cinematography is beautiful, and the song perfectly compliments the scene. David Fincher is a genius.
My favorite part in this sequence is when the cop pulls them over and then immediately lets them off the hook as soon as he sees Tench's FBI badge. I clearly remember laughing out loud at that part when I originally saw it in the episode. Also, this reminds me a lot of the montage in "Fight Club" where The Narrator describes his work travel life and shows the single servings he gets on plane rides as well as his various hotel rooms, although David Fincher produced this series as well as directed this particular episode so I suppose I'm not too surprised.
Man I loved the show. Brilliant performances by all involved, great writing, great cinematography and an incredible soundtrack and score to go with it. Absolute TRAVESTY that it was cancelled after only two season.
You don’t know this but you are watching this for the 100th time coz of Holt McCallany. Everything goes… the voice, the cars, the cigarette, the weight on his shoulders, the style.. everything
The season didn't end with Led Zeppelin "In the evening" It ended with Led Zeppelin's "In the light". I understand you messing the two songs up. They both have similar names.
Any one notice the reference to Fight Club, where the narrator notices how everything single serving on an airplane with Bill's expression on the tiny toothbrush and the items of refreshments like coffee with sugar etc is shown? I felt that was a great nod towards white collar jobs where travel is involved, Fincher seems interested enough to refer to it.
I wish they would have squeezed My Dark Hour into the season, same riff with more punch and some heavy lyrics. I always preferred the rawness of that song to Eagle, but Eagle fits this scene perfectly, much more laid back vibe while still managing lyrics like “shoot the children”. Steve Miller and David Fincher are a welcome combo.
Everybody mention fincher but this episodes is directing (of course) for another guy. So congrulations for THAT director and not David Fincher. Excuse my english guys.
I've counted 90 shots. So for a 2 minutes and 10 secondes film it makes an average during shot of 1.44 seconde. The longest shot is15 secondes (they are 2 actually : first one is the second shot of the sequence, and second one goes from 1:30 to 1:46.)

Omg Tench didn’t want to learn. Because it is the end of his w. Holden does. Keep it simple
this was one of the greatest montages i've seen in a tv show
im watching the show enjoying it so much
One if the greatest montages ever,
But this is in series
Fincher started out making music videos
Easily one of the cleanest and most perfect montages I've ever seen, that's David Fincher baby. it's up there with that one in the lab in Breaking Bad.
Dental floss was HUGE in the 70's
How did people get it between their teeth than?
For real? Why?
I mean, it's still useful now otherwise you get plaque buildup 👍
still can't believe they cancelled this masterpiece
fr
frfr
Right? Hated Bill's wife for leaving him, and wanted to see what happened next to him, Holden and Wendy.
I've officially banned myself from watching this montage because I have an uncontrollable and impractical desire to re-watch mindhunter again
I’m literally about to rewatch it because of this lmao
This is one of the rarest moment that Fincher's music video sensibilities had a chance to show.
I so so love it.
Could have been the stone roses playing in the background.... now i know were they got their influence from.... wat goes around comes around i guess
Fincher is a genius
He did fight club sur he is a fucking god

Exactly the first half of the first episode was rather unattractive for me. Afterr the second half i was absolutely hooked though !
Fargo is a very good show, line of duty i dunno
@@pst9821 Line Duty had 3 good series and they forced it on to 6, a real tragedy :(
This montage makes me want to quit my job and become a traveling salesman

And Holt was part of fighting club!
Ever since I started watching the show last month, I've been so obsessed with this montage, it's not even healthy 💀
I feel u man! The editing, music, and cinematography are literally perfect, like surgical level, Fincher is a mad scientist
@@sadstoic 🙏🏼💜
I love 0:30 so much skdnskdns Holden's face is so cute
David Fincher on his best. After this episode I was hooked! Binge watched the whole 2 seasons in 2 days. Hope he comes back for season 3
Kirk baxter is a brilliant editor, his work with montages are the best, fast cuts are his strength and he have utilized it to the core in here 🔥🔥🔥
Nice details of seventies stuff combined with a great song!
+Wim Van Dam amazing, Fincher nailed it.
Best thing Netflix has come out with WE NEED SEASON 3
This montage is a work of art
I LOVE their chemistry so much. In some ways they kinda remind me of hank and connor lol.
Oh my god yesss
Damn, glad I'm not the only one
Finally someone said it
I've rewatched this montage soo many times.
The cinematography in this scene is absolutely genius, rare to see that nowadays, let alone in a crime show (?
This montage is great for anyone going a trip where they are going on several planes and bouncing between homes
This scene tickles my brain idk how else to explain it but I can't stop watching
The atmosphere of this show was exceptional.
cant wait the season 2
It's coming soon I think!
@@alexarias5717 dont think so :/
@@Oakland510 why? A second season for this fall was confirmed
Alex Arias lol you are right this Friday funny enough ! 😆
@@Oakland510 WHAT THIS FRIDAY??
This show is a masterpiece, I hate you forever Netflix
It's not Netflix's fault, Fincher hasn't continued it
1:08 holden daydreaming about his favourite serial killer
For some reason this is really satisfying to watch
I worked with a cop like Bill. Learned a lot from him.

Not going to lie this montage got me hooked on this show.
Still one of the best series I have watched ever. There is no show like it.
This montage is just classic Fincher.
One of the most satisfying montages. I love returning to this video.
up there with better call saul montages
Ended the season with Zeppelin's "Into the Evening"
+MCPrimetime only the good stuff 👌
It was "In the Light".
It’s called Into the Light
"In the light".
From "Physical Graffiti" album.
The season didn't end with Led Zeppelin "In the evening"
It ended with Led Zeppelin's "In the light".
I understand you messing the two songs up. They both have similar names.
best buddy cop montage ever
First time I'd ever heard this song was in this scene, such an awesome pairing of film and sound!
Jonathan groff is the best choice. He is just effortless.
Phenomenal actor
So glad somebody posted this🤣Just cracks me up everytime
Why this is so calming
Never seen a better montage on TV
their voices is sooo good to hear, especially the 3 leads
I just realized Tench was probably talking to his wife on the phone.
All montages during scenes are perfection
00:57 The best part ! Brillant !
Amazing editing, this is pure fire...

This show is amazing. great soundtrack too
*so many cafe and junk food, great live for fbi agent*
ImperioMagno but what of the emotional or mental strain on them, they see alot of unusually disturbing things.
Man, this montage is beautiful, always makes me happy and chill.
David Fincher really hates low amount hotel room toothpastes i guess
Love this montage .. so satisfying
I mean, its criminal that this didn't get 3 series but we have sequels for Tiger King and Making a Murderer :(
It hurts a lot

On par with Breaking Bad's four days out montage from season 2.

Master piece
one of these guys is the Narrator's father LOL (Fight Club reference)
Let my spirit carryyy me I want to...
unfortunately, there will be no 3rd season :( - considering this is this best netflix series
The Third Rule of Fight Club is you do NOT. Pay. Homage. To Fight Club.
Whos here after hearing it was cancelled 😔😔
