If you can handle a bigger unit - or just want a bigger battery back up for home - look into a solar power station like a Jackery or Ecoflow.

This video rocks. I have seen it several times now and love the details. I am about to purchase my second CPAP machine since 2016 and will purchase the Z2 since we love to go camping off the grid. I have 500 watts of solar on my roof along with a 30amp MPPT solar controller so this little machine along with the Pilot Lite battery should be ideal for my setup. Thank you for taking the time to post such great videos. I hope some day to visit Australia, it's on my bucket list!

IV been doing some research and this is the one I like best. It looks like it comes as a kit without the battery but I want to just plug it in when on vacation. I found it for 502 dollars American.
Thank you for this video...I am undecided whether to purchase this or the Dreamstation to Go for travel. I have been using my Dreamstation with heated humidifier and like for 2 years now.
Hi Barb, thanks for your question. Z2 is the best travel cpap machine. I would only go the dreamstation go if you feel you need humidification (you can try a night without it on your current dreamstation and see how you go). Great video! have you had an opportunity to charge the PowerShell with a solar panel since you've made this video. I'm looking for options for when I'm in the backcountry hunting on a multiday hunt. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

G'day, unfortunately not as the pilot 24 plus is still a 24v battery and the Z2 is a 12v unit (it's actually a 14.4v but still works for most running on +12v) Cheers
Hey Nick thanks for the video I purchased the z2 package for power outages and traveling do you have a video for the arrangement of all the bits and pieces to fit into the bag Case to satisfy my ocd and how to setup and is it able to record the sleep info for the yearly sleep Dr to approve ok to drive

Is there a way to turn off the auto off feature but not the auto on? I have central apnea, so it isnt safe for me to use that feature. The auto on the so nice to have though

Which Medistrom Pilot Lite battery works with the Z2 Auto? There are several models on Amazon, but none say they work with the Z2 Auto. I would purchase through a link in your video description, but I don’t see one for US viewers.

I just got this. It’s different! Is it suppose to turn on and off over and over? I am use to my machine always staying on and auto adjusting.

I heard people say the z2 makes a very high pitch sound… what’s your experience with this? I’ve debating between this and the airmini … I’m pretty sensitive to sound so I’m not sure which would be more quiet :) I also need some form of humidification too… the dreamstation go looked like a good option but I can’t buy one anywhere because of the recall
So this is a 12 volt system? No special power source? What's the cost of that special machine to tube adapter?

Since I can’t buy the HDM powershell anymore for my new Z2, I purchased the Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite. I’ve bought two different Z1 adapter cables for it, but while the Z2 will power on, it will NOT ramp up while plugged into the fully charged Medistrom battery. My ResMed Airsense 10 works fine with this battery, it’s just the Z2 that is not ramping up pressure. It will work fine via the power cable that came with it, plugged into an outlet, but not via the battery. It doesn’t make any difference if the battery is plugged into an outlet at the same time or not. Am I missing something?
Hi there, why can't you buy the powershell? Also the Z2 is a 12V machine (it's actually a little bit more but still works fine on 12v) I would not connect it to a 24-lite as that's a 24v battery. You would need the 12-lite. The AirSense 10 is a 24v machine and will require the 24-lite. Cheers
@@CPAPReviews OK that makes sense. I guess I’ll just use it as the battery backup for my AirSense 10 then. I wanted something that could be used for both but I guess that’s just not a thing.
I’m in the US and everywhere I look - online CPAP retailers, Amazon - the powershell is either listed as unavailable or it’s not listed at all.
EDIT: OK now of course some places have the powershell in stock or on backorder, but at the time I ordered my Z2 they weren’t available and not even after I received it, either. I then thought that since I was getting the Medistrom I should get the one that could run the AirSense 10 (I live in Florida and we’ve got serious thunderstorms here) thinking I could also run the Z2 on that, but nope, I have to spend a small fortune on multiple batteries for different CPAP machines. 🙄

Have you actually tried to sleep using the z2 with the HME attached on top as in the video? Some dealers I spoke to said it would not work. Thanks
can you run this CPAP directly from a car 12v cigarette port?
You can mate but it will switch off if the voltage drops below 12V. It's built to run on 14V but for 99.9% of users it works great between 12V and 14V. Cheers

Where does one obtain the 12vdc cord that connects the battery to the Z2 CPAP (here in the US)?

Hi Lisa, great question babe. The travel machines don't have heated humidifiers which most people use on a day to day basis. They also tend to be a little noisier at the higher pressure levels compared to the full size units. There are certainly many people who still use them as their day to day unit :-). Cheers

With the mask you use, I'm a side sleeper, does that cut off or restrict the air flow?

I'm interested in the Z2 set up with that 2nd battery with the 3hr charging capability. I'm looking at this for bicycle touring and tent camping with solar charging (can drape solar charger over my rear panniers as I ride) but i also have a dyno hub I can use as well but that requires my plugging a USB lead into my headlight into the battery. So how much will the Z2 plus that battery cost me?

Nicko you name the Medistrom battery simply as Medistrom Lite - However there is a Lite 24 and Lite 12, only the 12 works with Z2 Auto. May I recommend you give the complete information on your review? I just wasted my money and cant get a refund. $350 down the drain!

You don't look like you have the right physical structure to require CPAP therapy (or, I should say you don't have the wrong structure). You don't have a lot of fat around the neck. I could be wrong. Maybe internal tissue structure (that you can't see) plays a big part. Anyway, thank you for your awesome videos! I think I've decided to buy this CPAP over other models because of your reviews.

@@CPAPReviews Ahhh that makes sense! What a good guy! I have mild sleep apnea and half of it is contributed to my nasal passages. Simply wearing an adhesive Breathe Right strip will eliminate half of my apnea, with the rest being in my throat. Oh, and I SNORE! My girlfriend appreciates the CPAP too, but she normally sleeps deeply anyway.

Hi Nick, great video! I just ordered my Z2 although they are still called Z1 in Europe. Anyway. I am planning to bring the machine to the great outdoors (of Norway), with tenting in the mountains. I am trying to find out what kind of battery I could use with the machine and what kind of adapter / plug I need. Is it possible to use a 20000 mah-Lithium ion powerbank with a standard USB outlet? @@seakayakcroatia Hey! I use a Sandberg Survivor PowerBank 42000. Lasts for 2-3 nights. Hi Alan, great question. I don't believe they stop working because they get dirty. I think the filter material just stops working after a period of time. What sort of mask do you use?
