Time to live (TTL) refers to the amount of time or “hops” that a packet is set to exist inside a network before being discarded by a router. TTL is also used in other contexts including CDN caching and DNS caching.
Quick question: I understand how to clear the dns resolver cache that is stored on computer, but how do we delete the dns resolver cache stored on our router?
@@MathCuriousity unless you run something like pfsense I don't believe there is a way. Maybe if you power cycle the router, then it will clear that out? But, that's not a 100% though! I don't personally know of any consumers routers that you can clear the dns cache unfortunately.
Thank you so much for your videos! I definitely had to subscribe. I’m currently in school for web development and networking is one of the classes I have to take and just reading from a book just made me even more confused. The way you explain it and with the animations it makes things so much easier to understand and take notes 😊

If your private IP is 10.0.0.2 as shown when you put ipconfig/all at 04:20, shouldn't your subnet mask be 255.0.0.0? Because 10.0.0.2 is a private IP belonging to Class A (I refer to your video "Public vs Private IP Address" where the minute 04:19 shows the private IPs with their classes). I would appreciate your comment on this point.
