I'd be tempted with the tarp to fix the short side to the back vertical wood, so when you open it the long side runs with the bottom horizontal, then with the excess that'll go over the top attach a bungee or 3 and hook to far side to keep taught when in use, then when not in use can roll up nicely to rear vert like a curtain and tie up..if that makes sense!
Or even run a wire along the diagonal so you can tuck tarp behind and over then have somewhere to fix bungees this side at bottom
Had to read this a couple of times (😂) but I think that's a really good idea and will try it out this week and see how it goes. Thanks!
@greatnorthernexotic yeah couldn't quite get the words out! Essentially use the two straight (right angle) edges, the bit against fence and bottom as your start point..Still doesn't make sense. I'm sure you'll figure it out 😂
Hi; have you grown Englemanns Prickly Pear; thinking of adding one to my arid bed.
Yeah opuntia engelmannii and super hardy here, second only to perhaps opuntia humifusa (but a much nicer looking form). I'll be adding one to my bed in spring.
@@greatnorthernexotic Thanks for the reply; yes I’m adding one to my arid bed in the spring; assuming overhead cover in the winter; should go nicely with my Agaves and Yuccas
@@terrystokes7047 I'd also recommend opuntia scheerii, a really nice upright hardy form, taller than the other hardy species.
@@greatnorthernexotic I shall be having a look at that one 👍
