You know the speed warning was handled bad when Tesla did it better. You can one touch disable it in the Tesla but you cannot do it in the Hyundai. It's counterintuitive. Anyways, I got the latest car that did not have this so I only have to: 1. Change from Eco to Normal driving mode (button near the gear lever). 2. Disable Stop / Start function (button on the left of the steering wheel, was near the gear lever before). 3. Disable Lane Keep Assist (button on the steering wheel, was on the left of the steering wheel before). My question is: 1. Why not have all the buttons in the same place, on the left of the steering wheel let's say. You have 4 buttons and each function can be in the same place and easily accessible. 2. Why not have the speed assist be disabled by a button in the said place? I'll just drive this i30 until they get their head of the their behind because it seems they need time to correct issues they just introduced and the EU lawmakers should be ashamed of themselves for ruining cars. Hopefully aftermarket software programming will be available so we can get around this bulls&&t in the near future.
I don't know if and how ISA is implemented in Tesla, but I know Mercedes has a single touch button on the screen, so that's the best solution next to BMW's hold the set button on the steering wheel for a couple of seconds. While there are some guidelines regarding ISA online, I supposed carmakers got more detailed memos on how to implement it, and some of them maybe assumed it's a good thing, and people will not want to disable it 🤣 Toyota understood 14 clicks when parked is asking for trouble, so now you can do the 14 clicks while driving. Safety third.
In the UK, we get the Kona with the 1.6 hybrid as reviewed in the video, a 1.0 petrol, a 1.6 petrol and electric variants. No HTRAC is available in the UK for the 2nd gen Kona, even though we get the 1.6 petrol with 198PS.
Depends on your definition of comfort. I say below at lest BMW X5 three passengers abreast will not be comfortable. Others say a Renault Megane has a very wide bench seat.
Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a replacement for my Mazda cx30. The Mazda is almost perfect for my needs but it's a bit narrow on the second row seets and it's suspension is hard while driving in the city. Will the Kona be a good alternative or should I keep looking for something else? The CHR is not an option in my country. Thanks for your help
It depends. Historically Far Eastern brands tend to be more expensive in Germany, than in Poland, but the Kona costs the same here and there. And yes, this highly specced model costs as much, as a base FWD RAV4.
Thanks for the informative video. I learned a lot. Stepping on the brake for longer is bad for the service interval of DCT transmission but good for fuel economy. So what would the result be?
Probably a better car to drive than the Niro but not sure I could live with messy styling and what idiot thought it a good idea to put those huge light clusters in the most impact likely area of the bumpers.
In time when electric car craze is slowing down same as sales and a lot of manufactures are rethinking decisions they have made... Every other review is electric car even though public is in vast majority against. So now we are happy even with this type of hybrid car reviews
The hard plastics would be a deal breaker for me. I would rather have the CX-30 due to better interior quality. Regarding the speed warnings etc, I wonder if Carly will allow you to permanently disable these warnings.
The last I checked there weren't any ISA hacks in there yet, but like with all cloud-based services, it's work in progress :) I bet if they figure it out, they'd be able to sell it as a premium subscription.
Think that would depend on where you will drive most the time,as stated in vid town/city is where Kona does best, this was first question salesmen asked me when looking at one, if mostly motorway he told me look at others as be lucky get high 6s but in town low 4s
LOL, I love the excessive demos of the hard plastics. Overboard is good. I like the new design except the weird placement of the taillights. It makes the butt look dumpy. Robo car. Dead or alive, you're coming with me. Please put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply.
As far as the noise of objects in contact with the plastic in the center console is concerned, in my father's Mercedes W206 it's the same......and it costs a few euros more
We have the car in Greece not at an island but Mainland city. The car rusts significantly if you lift it up and take a look you will be surprised and not in a good way
I was considering this car but hard plastic and specific exterior design put me off. Instead I got a Nissan QQ J12 Tekna. Materials in the cockpit are much nicer and design is more appealing to me. Yes, it is not that economical but I feel that with Nissan I'm getting a car from the class above for the same price. Excellent work Marek. Regards from Serbia 🇷🇸
@@vidpetrovic8907 They didn`t - they just stopped selling them in EU due to the emission regulations. You can still get "full fat" N cars in US, Australia, UK and the rest of the world. US even gets the fantastic Elantra N.
@@MarekDrivesENG I know because I was using Mol's overpriced washer fluid which was cherry scented and I could not smell it. @@MarekDrivesENG Thanks for your reply. I prefer a car from another manufacturer. Mazda is a high quality car but the cx5 is too big for me. After 3 years with the cx30 I realized that I prefer comfort and utility over performance.
Well Done Hyundai for physical buttons. I wish all car manufacturers would follow suit and get rid of these horrible touch sensitive distractions.

Think they should had sequential turn signals in the light bar across the back and put the rear wiper under the spoiler
Hello, is rear seat can contains 3 adults comfortably?

Long waiting time - 9 months??? The dealer told me first 5 - then 2 months extra en since today again 2 months

I don't know if prices in Germany/Poland are higher, but you can get a decent trim level of the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid in Bulgaria for that money.

Hi Marek when are you reviewing the 2024 Dacia Duster ?
As soon as I can get my hands on one.
hate the exterior looks on this car. looks like they just had some parts and stuck them on the car.
I agree. But for me, the interior was an even bigger let down.
This or HR V? For economy and reliability?

Man I wish they would gave us the Hybrid version here in the USA, They only gave us the gas ones.
Got one on order due December here in New Zealand.

Interesting. I wonder if it's market specific (lack of) rust protection. Hyundais and KIAs in Poland used to rot, but that was in the 1990s.
Good review. Nothing special jumps out for this vehicle.
A Jack-in-the-box car would be creepy :)

Interesting. For me the Qashqai's a bit vanilla, but you do get more car. Kona is a Juke competitor.

Hyundai makes such ugly cars these days, not even quirky or weird, just plain ugly. :/
too expensive!
It would look great if it weren’t for the plastic cladding and goofy headlights
IMO the cladding and the lights give this car a shape, but most people commenting seem to hate it. Interesting.
This car is completely pointless. It is priced in good trim as high as the a Tucson. 41k ??? You must be out of your mind.
You should know better ... VW Golf Customers would never by a KONA .
Based on the Mk8 Golf I'd never buy a VW again.
Imagine a person buying this. You must have no desire for style what so ever.
