- I picked up another 50 rolls of customer-wrapped Canadian quarters. Anything goes when you're coin-roll hunting! We'll be on the lookout for silver, of course, but we're also hoping to find lots of colourful coins (yes, that's a thing here in Canada!), brilliant uncirculated coins, commemoratives, foreign coins.
In our last box, we even found Proof quarters. Could we get lucky again?

Alot of good finds. I got 20 rolls of dimes from bank few days ago . 13 of those rolls were all silver. I got 657 silver coins .

Great score! Out of curiosity, what is your record when it comes to colour? :)
The most colour I've gotten was 98, but that included 2 full rolls of 2004 Poppies. My best outside of that was 41.
The 2023 coins are out but sold only in sets, nickel, dime, quarter, loonie and toonie. So if you find one you will be lucky. It’s with the Queen
We'll have to see who's on the circulation coins. It could go either way. If they can't get the dies in time, they might mint with the obverse design they included in those sets.
I got a bunch of double poppies, don't have the colour big poppy yet, or the flag

I almost wonder if you got a mini collection dump in this hunt! That's a ton of colored and special issue quarters! No silver, but still an excellent hunt all things considered.
Possibly - you never know! There were many more decent coins I didn't film or pull out - otherwise the video would have gone on way too long!
4 proof quarters is probably better than 4 silver quarters, unless the silver was au or ms
I have the 1991 too, and I dont often do quarters, justlucked out
It's interesting. I got more excited about the proofs, because I just never see those!
I got the full set from 1999 quarters, is it worth anything ? They are almost all Brilliant Uncirculated.
These ones are pretty easy to find in really nice condition, so they don't carry a significant premium. A lot of the banks were handing out/selling sets in special collector pages. But there are some interesting errors for a few of them!
As far as I've heard, there wont be a 2023 circulation coin set in Canada. The only way to get a 2023 quarter is by buying the uncirculated sets that feature the double dates on the back. Thats gonna make 2023 coins some of the most expensive to date when you find them in the wild.
Well, that would be interesting, for sure. You'd have to go back a long way to find a year when coins weren't minted for circulation. Having said that, I imagine the demand for coin is going down...

Just got my first box and got 290 commemorative coins. I had 5 rolls that were only commemorative coins. Also had some foreign currency including a 10 Pence

@@CADRollHunter that's fine! I bought a box of nickels and didn't find a single 1970 but was able to fill up 5 rolls of 1960 coins

I'd call the bicentennial nickel nickel the first commemorative
The centennial nickel you mean? The '67? I think the first true commemoratie would be considered the 1935 Voyageur Dollar. But then they kept making it!

Did you know that a 2008 Alaska quarter there's an extra claw or doubling on the great land?
I've actually found an extra claw before here in Canada!
Did you check the wheelchair curling for the rare Olympic mistake stamp on the head side?
Yes, I check them all for the Olympic logo (rather than the Paralympic Games logo). I haven't found any. I believe they were issued in some sets, so they'd have to come out of a set. You never know!

As you know, it can be tough finding silver. But it's out there! I'll keep looking!

Very cool I live like 6 miles and a short bridge ride from Canada. We used to see a lot of Canadian coins in our change but not so much since the Pandemic. I have never seen any of the colorized coins. Are they very collectible in Canada? I have been saving all pennies I find since they stopped making them.
Thanks so much for watching! The colour coins are very collectible, and it's common to find them in really nice shape. You should take a day trip to Canada and stop at the bank and ask for a couple rolls of quarters and see what you find! You might get lucky! Then take the rest of the quarters and buy lunch with them!!

Yes, that's exactly what I do.
No spectaculair finds this time, but lots of nice finds still!
I try not to get my hopes up every box. You know how it goes! Most of the time you don't find anything great... but every once in a while!!

Where do you find the wrapped coins?
I get them from my bank. Just ask if they have pennies. You might get lucky and they might sell you some!
Why don't you wear cotton gloves
Pretty much becuase I mostly deal with circulated coins which are, generally speaking, filthy! If I wore gloves I'd have to be changing them constantly! If I was handling valuable BU coins, I'd certainly consider gloves!

I din't initially. However, I've looked at it again, and it is the extra claw. I'll highlight it in my next video!

Aren’t the colored ones silver?
Most coloured coins are just normal circulating coins. There are some that were also minted in sets - and some were also done as silver proofs (though I've never found one of those!).
What do you do with the left over coins?
Anything I don't care to keep I just roll up and deposit at one of my banks.
