great video. for me it's a situational anxiety as oppose to social anxiety that I have, I say this because I can be different in the same or similar situations. what Tim mentions there about social paralysis though, I have experienced and it's horrendous.

Try to remember that change is a natural part of being human. We can't simply remain the way we are now. Thoughts and feelings come and go. The less we resist this process the more we naturally move towards balance and return to our natural calm state.

Brilliant and insightful chat. All those symptoms that he is describing are also symptoms of the menopause too though which can make it a minefield to negotiate 😏

The only thing I understood is anxiety is nothing to fear about, it's the part of your body and mind, it was always there and it's always gonna be there for the whole life, the only thing you do is stop resisting and accept that as a part of your life.

anxiety is a normal emotion like when you have to give a presentation to a group of people, most people don't enjoy that and feel nervous and sweaty and a racing heart when they have to do it. That is normal anxiety and it passes as soon as your done with the presentation. The disorder anxiety happens when we tart to fear the feelings of anxiety and start focusing on the symptoms and think there is something wrong with us and then try to do everything we can not to feel it. That is what creates the anxiety loop and instead of a surge of anxiety it starts to be there almost all the time. That's because we focus on it constantly to see if it's there and when we feel it we behave like there is something wrong which signals our brain o so the anxiety i give you is good because your acting like there is danger so let me give you more anxiety symptoms to protect you. Our brain does not now the difference between a real tiger and our own thoughts. So to get the disorderd anxiety back to normal anxiety is to change our behavouirs and it will not happen over night it can take weeks/months for some 1 or 2 years everybody is different in that because we al deal with it different. So by changing our behavour we can free from anxiety and by that i mean when you feel symptoms you have 2 choices 1 i feel anxiety symptoms i don't like but i am going to let them be there as good as i can while i keep doing what i am doing without giving it to much of my attention. or option 2 i feel anxiety symptoms omg what if ...... happens, what if i pass out omg i feel like i can't breath , start doing compulsive behavours to try and make it go away. option 1 is the way out of anxiety because you learn your brain it's a false alarm and if you do this long enought the anxiety becomes less and less overtime. option 2 is confirming to your brain there is danger and that it's doing something good for you. This sounds easy but it's not it takes practice.

❤ I'm in the process of listening to clear your head. Chapter 13 mentions the need to not take on other people's anxiety and let them be responsible for themselves.
I just wonder how to balance this with taking care of older parents. Their "stuff" absolutely worries me and I am more in a position to help them than they are...
