Small tip if you value the sunscreen in your routine… Do not put on the miracle balm on top of your sunscreen and the foundation if you want to rub it in the way you do… as that will dilute the spf in your sunscreen. If you put on the miracle balm first (as an emollient moisturiser) and then allow it to sink in a bit before you put on the wtf-foundation you will not disturb the sun filter as much. The miracle balm massaged on top will begin to dissolve the spf which will then give you less protection. It dissolves it because of how it is formulated and because you need to rub it in so vigorously. If one wants to use the miracle balm on top of foundation like a highlighter or blush and you wear sunscreen underneath then you need to tap in the miracle balm to avoid disrupting the sunscreen filters or dissolve them. If you massage it is it will begin to dissolve and move around the filters, which you do not want… ❣️

Great review! The one thing I like about products that don’t contain sunscreen is the fact that I can control my SPF application. Sometimes I just wear foundation at night if I am going out and don’t need SPF. Also, you know that the sunscreen you use works well with your skin. I’m very intrigued by the face balm. You skin looks great.
Yeah sunscreen in foundation/ powder is a bit misleading becase nobody uses enough of the product to get the full benefit of the sunscreen. I know I sure as heck have never used 1/3 teaspoon of foundation! :D

Jones Road is supposed to be skincare in their makeup products so it is a bit overkill to use a moisturizer plus WTF plus Miracle Balm. With that said, they probably do not include it in the cosmetics due to making the formula not work, but they also want you to buy their skincare products that have SPF. If you are using the Au Naturel I wouldn't cover my whole face then use WTF. I would do either or depending on condition of my skin.
I bought the Chanel mascara, you are so right!! I love it! My eyelashes don’t clump together & it really lengthens my lashes!! Thanks for the recommendation! ❤
I am happiest with the Miami Beach shade of Miracle Balm which I wear over a tinted sunscreen Australian Gold also lied the face pencil, and bronzer from Jones Road. I did recently try the facial cleaning stick which I LOVE
I use the Australian Gold sunscreen too! So the Miami Beach didn’t look heavy with too much color? I’m very light skinned but think porcelain is too light! Your thoughts?
I got the last Laura Geller Tsv but what I really learned from watching her was use a larger stiffer soft brush, tap it on the powder then tap it on your face. Wow, it really helps way better than wiping across your skin. I just turned 70 so stopped using powders as they accentuate wrinkles I don’t even have. I now only tap onto my face and started using powders again. I’m a makeup junkie and love using it. I think it saved my face after working outside in the sun for 12 years. Not so much foundations though.
this could be my all day project- watching jones road miracle balm videos. The purpose or so I thought of this product is supposed to be quick and easy- for someone who doesn't do make up you put 3 + layers on- that is a lot and time consuming have you used just the miracle balm - looking for what that looks like on a mature face
This is such a great video for anyone who is considering the products! I use drugstore Clinique moisturizer and it’s always nice to know what’s out there and what works for people. You’re always so honest and never steer us wrong :) made sure to thumbs up the video!

Hi Jen! I enjoyed learning about Jones Road and your views on makeup. I also wear very little makeup especially in the warmer months. Thanks for the review!
Loved this video so much!! Loved the complexion products on your skin. Agree 100% that the miracle balm is great. I don’t wear makeup during the day so I use it as my last step to lock in my skincare/sunscreen and it’s so occlusive and protective. It’s been a lifesaver in the Alaska cold. When I do wear makeup I use it as the primer and it works wonders. Thanks so much for making this video ❤
I've watched so many JR reviews and no one ever talks about sunscreen, so I've been curious how they work together. so thank you for talking about the sunscreen!
if memory serves there is a blog entry on their site discussing the order of application. I think Bobbi talks about it on the Instagram account as well. They work fine - just make sure you're letting the SPF set in and wait and apply the JR products. Also as she said, a little goes a long way and most of the videos I see with negative reviews are people over applying these products then complaining about the texture. This was a great and helpful review.
Yeah she says in the ads that it’s not like traditional makeup and you only need to tap with your finger but so many reviewers just go ahead and use it just like a traditional makeup product, use way too much and complain. Everyone’s skin is different I know, but at least they should understand how the particular product is designed to work…
As a person with dry skin, ultra moisturizing product sounds good but for the very few times a month I wear makeup I’d probably have to throw it away before I could use most of it up.
I'm enjoying your product demos. I'm just a couple years behind you and have thyroid issues, too. Those darned eyebrows! I use a combination of Bareminerals (my face) and Thrive Cosmetics (my eyes). I just found out that the Bareminerals stores in my area have closed and hunting down more loose powder blush has been a challenge (they seem to be phasing that product out). Ulta online to the rescue! I found some and bought two! Bareminerals has been my go-to for 15 years. Includes SPF in the powder foundation, but I also have SPF in my moisturizer (Neutrogena). Thrive is a newer discovery. LOVE their mascara and eye liners!!
Whether the foundation is powder or liquid you would have to apply way too much to get the full benefit of any SPF in it. It's good that you apply the Neutrogena SPF too.
I started using this product recently. After watching your video I think I put too much foundation on. LOL... I find the foundation strong smelling it makes my eyes water.
Yeah I made that mistake the first time too! And I know she says they use just essential oils in the fragrance so it’s “clean” but that smell can still be a lot!
There are many great sunscreens on the market, which go under foundation beautifully. I use the DRMTLGY universal tinted sunscreen. The Elta MD is a good one too. You are supposed to apply the sunscreen last after your skin care routine, wait at least 15 minutes, then apply your make-up. You should use at least 2 finger lengths of the sunscreen. The sunscreen in the foundations will not be enough.
Thank you so much for this video! I have been looking at these products for a while now and have been curious ( but I am cheap) and wasn’t too sure about what it would look like and how easy it actually is to use as i too like minimal product and I never use brushes as that is too much! By seeing you use it, explain the steps to use and the texture and what you liked/didn’t like was so helpful! I appreciated this video from start to finish! I think I might just order some as I really like Bobbi Brown makeup and this does seem like something I would enjoy! Thanks again Jen! I do t use foundation so I appreciate what you said in your video and you helpful comment! Oh and the money I don’t spend on the foundation and stick will be used to purchasing the Chanel mascara as I love how it looks and again I appreciate your honesty about it! ❤️
You don't put enough of any make up item to get any SPF from it. I use Skin1004 SPF as a moisturize/SPF on top of vit c serum. In the summer I use Hawaiian tropic SPF powder as a top up.
Unless u have Dry-a-a-Desert skin, the WTF & Miracle Balm r a big, fat, greasy mess. Even when I used very little my skin looked like an oil slick & my hair kept sticking to it. I have not tried any of the other products in the line. On a positive note, the colors of the Miracle Balm r beautiful....wish they worked for me.
I bought Jones Road mascara because Bobbi did ad on IG saying it always sells out and they had a 10,000(!!) person waiting list. (No waiting for me; mine arrived 3 days after ordering! Just sayin’.) Not sure I believed it then or now! I do not like it much at all. I really dislike the fat, curved brush; the mascara is thick and lumpy, and I always go back over it with my Maybelline Full ‘N Soft brush, which has the very best brush of all! I bought 4 of the mini Miracle Balms on Black Friday, cause I didn’t want the full size but did want to try different colors. So far, I am very underwhelmed by every product I’ve tried. I have not received the concealer pencil yet, so will reserve judgement there. I’d give Jones Road a 4/10 so far.
You would never be able to have enough sunscreen with the amount of product you use from the Jones Road line. The volume needed is way too much. That is also why any makeup with sunscreen will never protect you adequately with each use. Maybe Bobbi Brown can make her own sunscreen that compliments her line but at the end of the day you still need the extra volume to protect you
I really really want to like this product. I have the WTF foundation and the miracle balm and it just doesn’t work for me . I was really excited because I have a very dry skin but this is so sticky and feels so heavy. I love the make up no make up look but I just look like a greasy ball . Just not for me!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Ok, good to know. I have a moisturizer line that I love but need to shake things up with coverage for the summer. Might give this a try!
The tugging and pulling on your face. Do you ever think maybe using a beauty blender would be less rough on your face? The older I get the more I worry about how rough I am with putting makeup on w my fingers.
I feel the same about Estée Lauder products. I like their products except the lipstick; it smells awful and tastes bad, too (you can’t help but taste lipsticks). Theirs make me nauseous!!
I think you have too many products on your face. I bought the Jones Road products too; none of those products are game changers. Less is more, and even a super pale person can get away using a 2 in 1 moisturizer with spf. It’s overkill to apply a moisturizer, wait 15 mins, then apply an spf over that. Dermatologist offices and online sell high end/high quality 2 in 1 moisturizer w/ spf. Next foundation isn’t necessary for mature skin, when we have better options like a thin skin tint or tinted moisturizer. But JR WTF foundation is too thick, and the fact that you have to take a tiny amount of it, work it with your fingers to warm and thin it out -just defeats the whole point/process of a quick to use product in the morning. The miracle balm is just tinted Vaseline, it’s so sticky that your hair will cling to it nonstop. Moreover, why would anyone with mature skin believe their complexion would glow by putting a Vaseline tinted product on their face? When people do slugging at night using Vaseline, nobody looks in the mirror after that first coat of Vaseline and thinks this is a glowy, beautiful look that trumps all other forms of makeup. As much as I have loved BB’s products from the past, I think Jones Road was destined to be a hard sell for BB (hence all the outrageous amount of advertising she spends on it). BB was trying to combine clean ingredients and she was just catering to very dry skin people, instead of more inclusive products for oily and combo skins. None of her products have spf, but it all is expensive for what you get.
Ya I got the face pencils and 2 miracle balms and it was really expensive and the pencils are not as creamy as I thought they’d be.. and the miracle balms the bronze one they recommend for me & it’s way to dark normally a cream bronzer would be fine but this stuff is just oily and greasy and the other shade I got is lighter and if I use a brush it’ll work as a highlight.. but they’re overhyped and they don’t work as they describe them…
To me it's just like putting on tinted vaseline or coloring my face with lipstick.....it's too expensive not to be great and it does not look great!!!!! I think that your look took too many steps and as for my needs....nope...I can make my own with melted lipstick colors in the microwave.
If the brand is animal testing / cruelty free, they can’t make spf products because the US requires animal testing to be spf certified. I believe European products allow for spf without animal testing. 🫶
I lived in Norway for years. They are super strict about sunscreens etc. In fact, for a while they pulled all sunscreens off the market because they contained hormone disrupters, which many in America still contain. Until those chemicals were removed, they were kept off the market. Virtually all mainstream deodorants, body and hair products in America contain dangerous ingredients, regardless of animal testing. One example, carefully read ingredients in deodorants, and you'll make sure they're never used again.
One of the things I adore about Jones Road and didn't mention is they are completely cruelty free which is a big deal! So yes, you'll pay more but watch and comment below what you think. Worth the splurge for you??

Oh and the money I don’t spend on the foundation and stick will be used to purchasing the Chanel mascara as I love how it looks and again I appreciate your honesty about it! ❤️
What is your your review on the Subtle Beauty stack? Worth while for daily use or just for travel? Or, not a fan at all? Thanks!
I have been wondering about this brand too so can’t wait to watch this!
Hurray! Hope it helps!
You don't put enough of any make up item to get any SPF from it. I use Skin1004 SPF as a moisturize/SPF on top of vit c serum. In the summer I use Hawaiian tropic SPF powder as a top up.
Have you tried Supergoop’s glowscreen? It’s my favorite no makeup sunscreen that adds a nice glow
I’ll check them out!
You’ve got comments!! Woohoo!! Great review, (I’ve never heard of this product) but I love YOU and learning something new!!
Hurray!!!😂❤️❤️❤️
You look really pretty. Great demo.
Thank you so much!
I really appreciate this demonstration
Unless u have Dry-a-a-Desert skin, the WTF & Miracle Balm r a big, fat, greasy mess. Even when I used very little my skin looked like an oil slick & my hair kept sticking to it. I have not tried any of the other products in the line. On a positive note, the colors of the Miracle Balm r beautiful....wish they worked for me.
I have read many reviews that say the miracle balm is sticky. I achieve the same look by using lipstick as blush.
Love this on you
Have you reviewed the Boom sticks?
Omg the Betty Davis Eyes😂😂😂😂😂
Have you tried or would you consider trying the Laura Geller line?
Out of everything… I ended up getting the Chanel mascara ☺️ Trying to recover from extensions
I have used it for three years now and it’s more reliable than some of my family members.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge 🤣
A really good mascara is super important
IT TOTALLY IS!
I like these reviews!
Was just checking to make sure you had comments! Didn’t want you to get a complex 😂
I was having a “is this thing on?” Moment THANK YOU😂
You would never be able to have enough sunscreen with the amount of product you use from the Jones Road line. The volume needed is way too much. That is also why any makeup with sunscreen will never protect you adequately with each use. Maybe Bobbi Brown can make her own sunscreen that compliments her line but at the end of the day you still need the extra volume to protect you
Very pretty makeup. 👍👏
Thank you! 🤗
Pretty!
What colour did you use in the pencil please?
Shade 5. Sorry that took so long!
I really really want to like this product. I have the WTF foundation and the miracle balm and it just doesn’t work for me . I was really excited because I have a very dry skin but this is so sticky and feels so heavy. I love the make up no make up look but I just look like a greasy ball . Just not for me!
Thank you for the great review. The lighting was dissatisfying:(
Thanks for watching!
What is the texture of the pencil? I detest waxy but that seemed to glide over your skin.
Yeah it does. It wouldn’t if you tried it on skin with nothin in but with the miracle bomb on first it’s amazing.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Ok, good to know. I have a moisturizer line that I love but need to shake things up with coverage for the summer. Might give this a try!
Is miracle bomb supposed to be sticky?
The tugging and pulling on your face. Do you ever think maybe using a beauty blender would be less rough on your face? The older I get the more I worry about how rough I am with putting makeup on w my fingers.
Good thought!
I can’t wear these products, I have to many dark sun damage on my face. I like a little coverage.
you need to watch her tutorials on the products.
I HAVE watched her tutorials. Thanks for watching!
I think, putting mascara on your lower lashes would enhance your eyes.
Thanks for the comment!
It wasn’t creamy. It was hard to apply even after an excellent primer.
I like a lot of L’Oréal products, but I can’t stand the smell of L’Oréal lipsticks. 🤢
I feel the same about Estée Lauder products. I like their products except the lipstick; it smells awful and tastes bad, too (you can’t help but taste lipsticks). Theirs make me nauseous!!
Bug eyes😢 I have graves.
Balm. Vs. Bomb?
It is a balm.
Good word "Moisturized" It's actually like "Greasy" Not a fan.
Skip it ya'll. It covers NOTHING & no matter how much you stir it or pat it, its tacky on the skin
And their products smell bad, or at least the Miracle Balm does! 😖🥴
If the brand is animal testing / cruelty free, they can’t make spf products because the US requires animal testing to be spf certified. I believe European products allow for spf without animal testing. 🫶
Fascinating I had no idea!
