Thank you. I bought WTF and two miracle balms, including the Au Natural, to try. A few months before I'd bought some Bare Minerals powder products...probably too many as it turns out. I'm 69, low maintenance with makeup and have never been a big facial makeup person but I knew I needed a change. Plus I wanted to try to get a dewey look so I didn't look so tired. I've been experimenting on the order of applying products without looking cakey with all the layers I apply. I've probably made this more complicated than need be and more time consuming. Your video simplified things. Now I'm ready to try again.

FINALLY a review that is not a shill, not a response for freebies or paid for. SO tired of those! We need some honesty! I also have bought high luxury eye concealers and one way below 10 bucks, a drugstore item. BOTH are cruelty-free, which is exceedingly important to me. My verdict? I like the drugstore one better. I wish I had NOT bought the super pricey one.

Skin more sensitive for me after age 60 so sunscreen being separate is a plus for me as I might have been sensitive to what was put in product

Small tip if you value the sunscreen in your routine… Do not put on the miracle balm on top of your sunscreen and the foundation if you want to rub it in the way you do… as that will dilute the spf in your sunscreen. If you put on the miracle balm first (as an emollient moisturiser) and then allow it to sink in a bit before you put on the wtf-foundation you will not disturb the sun filter as much. The miracle balm massaged on top will begin to dissolve the spf which will then give you less protection. It dissolves it because of how it is formulated and because you need to rub it in so vigorously.
If one wants to use the miracle balm on top of foundation like a highlighter or blush and you wear sunscreen underneath then you need to tap in the miracle balm to avoid disrupting the sunscreen filters or dissolve them. If you massage it is it will begin to dissolve and move around the filters, which you do not want… ❣️

How did you verify what you’re saying that putting a product on top of your sunscreen dissolves or disrupts and moves around the filters? I’ve never seen any product instructions on any sunscreen that suggests this. Thanks.

    • @brabalans348
      @brabalans348 7 місяців тому +1

@@nancycrabtree6312 Its really simple. Sunscreen filters are made to form a filter on the skin that either is made up of physical mineral particles, (zinc oxide, titanium oxide) which are a powder suspended in a solution, a cream or a compact that form a physical thin shield like as if you put on your face a piece of clothing but that also makes the sunscreen rays bounce off the filter instead of getting to your skin. Or it’s made up of chemical sun filters that when they blend with the skin surface also forms a filter or a type of shield that while it sits there absorbs and neutralises the sunscreen rays and reflects them. There are also mixes of these forms of filters in some sunscreens. Since the skin however in reality doesn’t want anything to sit on it it will try to break down the filter. Which it does by producing oils and fats and evaporating moisture which will destroy the filters (together with the sun that also breaks it down. Thus you have to reapply every two hours if you are out in heat or strong sunlight. But rubbing also causes the filter to move and break down. And ingredients in especially moisturising products has the capacity to dilute and break down the solution that the sun filters are embedded in and can also make the filter shield uneven on the skin. Foundations and tinted moisturisers can do the same. The more oily products you put on top and the more you rub it in the more you may break down the sunscreen too. Mineral sunscreens are of course more vulnerable since they technically are the powders that sit on your skin so the thinner the layer the lesser they will protect.
If you however let the sunscreen set well before putting on primers and foundations and the lighter handed you are the less you affect the sunscreens ability. Of course some sunscreens are better at sticking to the skin than others. But none are bulletproof by any means… They don’t perform magic. But will behave just like a foundation really. The more you rub in or buff in a foundation the thinner the layer will be…

I don’t think the brands for me but I liked your video! Always do. Also. It’s great that you wear a dedicated spf and tell everyone to! If there was spf in the make up you wouldn’t get the labelled protection as you wouldn’t use enough and the spf rating is based on using a fairly chunky amount. So in some ways it’s better as gets you to use a proper one and not be tricked into thinking you’re covered when you’re not. I love your videos it’s like having the nicest person keeping me company xx

Jones Road is supposed to be skincare in their makeup products so it is a bit overkill to use a moisturizer plus WTF plus Miracle Balm. With that said, they probably do not include it in the cosmetics due to making the formula not work, but they also want you to buy their skincare products that have SPF. If you are using the Au Naturel I wouldn't cover my whole face then use WTF. I would do either or depending on condition of my skin.

I got the last Laura Geller Tsv but what I really learned from watching her was use a larger stiffer soft brush, tap it on the powder then tap it on your face. Wow, it really helps way better than wiping across your skin. I just turned 70 so stopped using powders as they accentuate wrinkles I don’t even have. I now only tap onto my face and started using powders again. I’m a makeup junkie and love using it. I think it saved my face after working outside in the sun for 12 years. Not so much foundations though.

They work fine - just make sure you're letting the SPF set in and wait and apply the JR products. Also as she said, a little goes a long way and most of the videos I see with negative reviews are people over applying these products then complaining about the texture. This was a great and helpful review.

You are supposed to apply the sunscreen last after your skin care routine, wait at least 15 minutes, then apply your make-up. You should use at least 2 finger lengths of the sunscreen. Just sayin’.) Not sure I believed it then or now! I do not like it much at all. I really dislike the fat, curved brush; the mascara is thick and lumpy, and I always go back over it with my Maybelline Full ‘N Soft brush, which has the very best brush of all! I bought 4 of the mini Miracle Balms on Black Friday, cause I didn’t want the full size but did want to try different colors. So far, I am very underwhelmed by every product I’ve tried. Maybe Bobbi Brown can make her own sunscreen that compliments her line but at the end of the day you still need the extra volume to protect you

I think you have too many products on your face. I bought the Jones Road products too; none of those products are game changers. Less is more, and even a super pale person can get away using a 2 in 1 moisturizer with spf. It’s overkill to apply a moisturizer, wait 15 mins, then apply an spf over that. Dermatologist offices and online sell high end/high quality 2 in 1 moisturizer w/ spf.
Next foundation isn’t necessary for mature skin, when we have better options like a thin skin tint or tinted moisturizer. But JR WTF foundation is too thick, and the fact that you have to take a tiny amount of it, work it with your fingers to warm and thin it out -just defeats the whole point/process of a quick to use product in the morning.
The miracle balm is just tinted Vaseline, it’s so sticky that your hair will cling to it nonstop. Moreover, why would anyone with mature skin believe their complexion would glow by putting a Vaseline tinted product on their face? When people do slugging at night using Vaseline, nobody looks in the mirror after that first coat of Vaseline and thinks this is a glowy, beautiful look that trumps all other forms of makeup.
As much as I have loved BB’s products from the past, I think Jones Road was destined to be a hard sell for BB (hence all the outrageous amount of advertising she spends on it). BB was trying to combine clean ingredients and she was just catering to very dry skin people, instead of more inclusive products for oily and combo skins. None of her products have spf, but it all is expensive for what you get.

Skip it ya'll. It covers NOTHING & no matter how much you stir it or pat it, its tacky on the skin

Ya I got the face pencils and 2 miracle balms and it was really expensive and the pencils are not as creamy as I thought they’d be.. and the miracle balms the bronze one they recommend for me & it’s way to dark normally a cream bronzer would be fine but this stuff is just oily and greasy and the other shade I got is lighter and if I use a brush it’ll work as a highlight.. but they’re overhyped and they don’t work as they describe them…

To me it's just like putting on tinted vaseline or coloring my face with lipstick.....it's too expensive not to be great and it does not look great!!!!! I think that your look took too many steps and as for my needs....nope...I can make my own with melted lipstick colors in the microwave.

If the brand is animal testing / cruelty free, they can’t make spf products because the US requires animal testing to be spf certified. I believe European products allow for spf without animal testing. 🫶

I lived in Norway for years. They are super strict about sunscreens etc. In fact, for a while they pulled all sunscreens off the market because they contained hormone disrupters, which many in America still contain. Until those chemicals were removed, they were kept off the market.
Virtually all mainstream deodorants, body and hair products in America contain dangerous ingredients, regardless of animal testing. One example, carefully read ingredients in deodorants, and you'll make sure they're never used again.
