Surprised you didn't have Rogue Squadron on this list. Most of the ships on it were like trying to fly a bath tub, confusing mission objectives, and failing a mission for no DAMN reason!!! The fact they hid a Naboo Starfighter on this game for over a decade was impressive, until you tried to use it,then you wished it STAYED hidden. I used to call this game "Crash Squadron" since even touching any terrain would cause you to blow up and lose.
I loved Perfect Dark. It was such a long game with some really difficult tasks to complete. And I think the multiplayer was better than Golden Eye honestly. I don't know why no one ever talks about Perfect Dark. Maybe because it was a release late in the N64 life cycle? Great video as always sir. Cheers
@@tyvulpintaur2732 I believe I left it on the last stage and never returned because my parents bought me a PS2 for Christmas. I will revisit it someday. The time target on Chicago was nuts from what I can remember
I missed that era of gaming altogether. I had just turned eighteen and life was all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Both happy and sad I missed it. Man, what a great time to be alive and how wonderful it was before cell-phones and social media.
Safe to say Yoshi's Story, Mario Party 2 (a needed difficulty tone-down from the original), Pokemon Snap, Mickey's Speedway USA, Elmo's Letter Adventure, and Elmo's Number Journey are the exact opposite.
Currently replaying Jet Force Gemini. I remember getting stuck really early as a kid. Maybe like level 3 or 4. F-Zero was my game though. Pro tip. Can't get last if you kill everyone. My Death Race record was like 3 or 4 minutes.
Sonic Mega Collection Plus (which believe it or not was left off the GCN) and Metroid Prime Trilogy North American release give it a run for its money.
Darn good list! Blast Corps I was able to get four platinums and thought it was impossible to get them all. I still think anyone that does that is a god-tier gamer. Shadows of the Empire I could beat on Jedi but it was Hard mode that was actually harder! IG88 on the train stage was the devil. A hundred tries and we could never take him down. Great memories!
yeah, Majora's Mask and that infamous Time Limit was the bane of my existence. because of it, MM will never be on my Top 10 Zelda games. such is the curse that Shigeru Miyamoto put upon Majora's Mask, a curse that cannot be undone.
Including optional challenges; Pokemon Stadium Round 2 is notably less forgiving and continues with the AI cheating. San Francisco Rush: Extreme Racing with the fastest car is not very forgiving. It basically retains its arcade difficulty unlike the made-for-N64 Rush 2.
So glad to hear that someone else didn't like Goldeneye. I kept wondering what I was missing affrieall this time and hearing nothing but people raving over it.
I hated racing the turtle in DK64. Love Blast Corps. I wonder if it should be clear on difference between beating a game and 100%ing it. Turok 64 was extremely difficult also.
Every 3D platformer on the Nintendo 64 had poor camera angles and controls. Some games were better than others, but none of them had a good 3D camera. Not even Mario had a good camera. Just better than others.
Conker's Bad Fur Day didn't make the list? Did you play the beach landing? Donkey Kong was a slog but it was nowhere near as difficult as the squirrel game
Funny how the Star Wars "Legends" stories from the old days are superior to Disney Star Wars "canon" nowadays. I mean, someone had the sense to bring Thrawn into canon. I'm still waiting for Mara Jade... Also, I don't *think* we'll see another F-Zero game because Sega made GX...draw your own conclusions.
Tough N64 games? One title....Glover!! The controls were TOO precise, the slightest touch could turn the screen too damn far causing the ball to roll right off the screen!! I HATED this game!!!!
My dad was also into all the old Star Wars books. Why in the world Disney decided to retcon 20 years of books some great some bad is beyond ludicrous. They had so much source material they could have adapted into great films but decided to retcon it with girl power Mary Sue bullshit. To be fair I absolutely hated the prequel films as well. But my family didn't care at all about ratings we had HBO not the Cosby show.
@@Fortefyre There was a lot of different authors and storylines that could have made compelling movies even one of the 1st novels The Courtship of Princess Leia with Force witches in the book years before the pile of shit Acolyte TV show. Where the Witches try to seduce the male Force users reminded me a lot of the Dune series. Just a lot of things there to work with.
Cant agree with you about Perfect Dark being overrated, it improves on Goldeneye in every aspect. But shame it was released later in the N64 life cycle. Great video though
You think N64 Glover is hard? The PlayStation version has very limited draw distance. There's even a section towards the end where you have to get a wall open and you have to run through the wall before it fully closes. The PlayStation port makes that very hard to time.
I never got into the N64. I was more into computer games at that time and was moving away from consoles the cost was just way to damn high and with work, life school and trying to date girls this wasn't the console for me. I hated the controller still do. But Blast Corp looks very cool like something I would have liked.
F-Zero GX takes F-Zero X and slaps its face around till that face is literally silly putty laying on the floor. It's one of the only Nintendo made games after the NES and SNES era to rival The Lost Levels, The Adventure of Link, and the original F-Zero on Master difficulty. The Master mode of the previous games are nothing in comparison. Also good luck trying to optionally complete story mode chapters on very hard (more like welcome to hell). The first mission on very hard will give you plenty of trouble.
Goldeneye 007 is leagues and shoulders above Perfect Dark. I had both from almost Day 1 and I still love Goldeneye 007, which was my gradual growth into Halo: CE, the BEST game ever made. Moreover, Blast Corps is AWESOME!!!
Did...did you say GoldenEye was overrated? We're about to throw hands my guy. LOL JK. It kind of was, but still one of my favorites. Definitely love the sound track for it.

Yeah, but flying the Bluesmobile was so cool.
Hidden I typed in Halifax? when I was 10 years old, year one it came out. I think it was Cheat Code Central I found the code on.
Yeah, who would have tought bumping, even just a little, with an airship/spaceship would end you crashed 😁

I agree with the Disney take. And LucasFilm still isn’t profitable. I wonder why?

Glover to me was a traumatic callback to The Power Glove.
Haha I could see that.
Rare Replay is easily THE best game compilation ever made, it definitely deserves the praise.
Sonic Mega Collection Plus (which believe it or not was left off the GCN) and Metroid Prime Trilogy North American release give it a run for its money.
Absolutely! Tide pool hit it on the head too.
N64 certainly didn't suck back then, the amount of couch coop I played with friends was unreal
it had it's ups, but it also had many downs that people dont understand really undermined the console's capabilities.
I enjoyed it as a kid and that's all that mattered.
I just finished Doom 64 on the hardest difficulty setting. Was a pretty challenging experience. I highly recommend to any classic doom fan.
I've heard it's solid!
Cathartic to be able to relate with you on at least half of these games
That's the emotion I strive for.
3:25 is the best laugh ever 😂 I have no idea why
Shadows Of The Empire needs a Nightdive remaster. And since Dark Forces got one, Shadows just might get one, too!
Nightdive is EPIC like that.
Dash's jump animation still cracks me up.
The minimalistic jump plus lack of gravity lmao
