I come from a protestant background and after watching a lot of sam shamoun videos and his debates with Muslims, I came across certain videos of his where he talks a lot of Mary like she intercedes for us and needs to pray for her, I was shocked but, in my heart I felt like I made a terrible mistake by not praying to Mary, though I read the Bible fully and did not find anything like this to elevate Mary, this confusion stuck in my heart and I kept asking God, if I am right or wrong.......God guided me to this video where everything was fully revealed. You talk so patiently and you are indeed blessed, God bless you brother.

i am catholic and i cried sooooooo much when i faced this confusion i asked God for help and when i read the bible after being dramatic... God showed me the verse( i dont remember the verse) but i says dont worship carved idols and only worship God alone, right then i stopped praying to saints and Mary, surrendered my rosary and other things to church... my mom still pray the rosary and when she do i just read the bible in the corner...its hard to explain things to a born catholic like me so i just share little by little what i learned and my experience, i pray to God to reveal the truth to my family like what He did to me😢❤im not a very good speaker and its frustrating sometimes coz i have no one but the internet to share these things and i have to many questions sometime but theres none to answer me coz i live in a catholic country so theres no Christian churches here beside cultish ones

What ever you do with Mary in the Catholic group - all the things you call "just veneration", the praying, the kissing of her pictures, the kneeling down before her pictures, the wooden statues, if it becomes worship by changing the name from Mary to God or Mary to Christ, then it is not veneration but worship. Its the action that defines worship, not the object. The object just receives the recognition of value but the person expresses it by his action.
But no creation is of any worth to be worshiped since its value comes from God. Its just created and so are you and I and Mary.
Mark 10:18. Nobody is good but God. That means: I am not good, you are not good, Mary, Joseph, Abraham, Moses... Paul, Peter and any Apostles, Priest, Pope... Nobody is good.
We are all sinners by doing and by nature, we are of this world the moment we are born and we are wicked in our hearts and so are you and I and Mary. Only born again we start to change by Christ alone. So if nobody is good, where is the value in Mary that justifies the worship?

Here's a practical way that came to me,
Imagine going against will of the Father by going to the mother, we see it in our life, and what does it result in? Disrespect..
If the Father said no and does not fulfil your request, going to the mother to make Him change his mind, would be giving power over God.
    Consider that

That just makes so much sense. I was raised as catholic, but aside from mindlessly going to church and praying out of obligation, I never considered God in any bigger way in my life. At least, I thought I did, but ever since I started reading the Bible, I know I didn't. Anyway, I just wish everyone would just do the same and start reading Scripture as well. Most of my family, heck, even me back in the day, just assumed that the priest is right and it's kinda sinful to disagree. So we prayed to Mary. My grandma even taught me the prayer. I'm more than eager now to just focus on Christ and reading Scripture. Thanks for all your hard work and your videos, I learned quite a lot from them

Look at all of the descriptions of Mary: helper, advocate, intercessor. Catholics seem to be replacing Mary to the Holy Spirit's role in our lives. It is he that the Father and Jesus sent to us. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us. Yes, Mary is to be loved and admired - as an example of faith and obedience. But, it was Mary's humanity that she gave to Jesus in her DNA. Jesus was, is, and always will be God. He was holy even at the spark of conception. In her womb, Jesus was still holding all things together created through him. He didn't require a purity boost from Mary's side of the family.

If rejecting Mary is rejecting Jesus, then Jesus rejected himself.
Luke 11:27-28 "Now while Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that gave birth to You and the breasts at which You nursed!” But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and continually observe it.”

    • @DashRiprock-m3b

They worship her. They like playing semantics. I remember as a Catholic kid, dropping a coin in the little wooden or metal box, lighting a candle, kneeling down in front a graven image of Mary and saying a ton of Hail Mary's. They are, if not apostate, surely guilty of heresy. They are a half a step better than the Mormon and JW churches.

Understand that Roman Catholics have been taught this from childhood. To them the small "snippets" out of scripture are proof. They claim that they are not worshipping Mary with "Latria" (which is worship only to be given to God), but that they give May "Hyperdulia" which is extreme or highest form of veneration just short of worship. The way to speak to them is to: 1.) Avoid accusatory statements such as calling them idolaters (don't focus on the individual, but the practice handed down and approved of by the church). 2.) Find verses to back up your argument against "Hyperdulia" and make sure that you read the full chapter to avoid eisegesis (extracting what you want a verse to mean by avoiding the context in which it was written). 3.) Show patience and love when speaking to them. Understand that this has been "truth" to them for their entire lives. This practice and belief probably runs generations. 4.) Understand that their are multitudes of arguments that can be made by church fathers and popes and different counsel on many "tradition" claims in the Catholic church. Try to stick to scripture and keep the subject focused on one thing at a time, but have a decent knowledge of what history or writers they are referring to. After all while their may be a million ways to skin a cat, the subject will tend to bounce around and turn into a million cats that need to be skinned.

I've never understood the Marian dogmas of the Catholic church. It's all a bunch of leaps in logic and conclusions people have come to on their own. The bible doesn't really talk that much about Mary. She's only spoken about a few times in the gospels and never again, the focus becomes Christ.

I can't tell you enough how much this subject bothers me. I have discussed this very subject with a priest who almost seemed to have never thought about what it say's in Matthew 1:24-25. When I read it to him (in regards to the claim of Mary's perpetual virginity) he almost seemed to have never heard the verse. I asked him again which apostle(s) said any of these "infallibly passed down oral traditions" or to at least tell me what words were spoken so that I could weigh them with scripture as the Bereans in Acts did with Paul. He told me that he didn't know who said them or what their words were. I challenged him then that if we don't have the words or even the name of who said it then how can we claim it as infallible and binding on the believer's soul. After all if we were to make the same claims about Jesus, we could never reach those who need to hear his words, because we wouldn't know any of them. It would be as if I said "I don't know who said it or even what the words were that they said, but if you don't believe these things that I can't prove were ever said, you're going to Hell." How can it be claimed as infallible if no one knows anything about it aside from the writings of a few church fathers. That was how all of the traditions that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for got started. They claimed that the Corban rule was passed down from Moses even though they didn't have any scriptural proof of it, and Jesus held them responsible for this misuse of tradition by turning them to scripture. The Pharisees had plenty of flawed rabbinical writings (much like the Jewish people have today), but that could not and was not upheld by Jesus as God breathed scripture.

Glory to God alone. I will never pray to a mere human being. I will never give glory that belongs to God to someone who is not God. Believe in Jesus Christ, not a tradition filled with ideas contrary to scripture. Believe in Jesus Christ, not sinful men who are fallible. The only mention of a “queen of heaven” in scripture is referencing a FALSE god in the old testament, a demon.

Is Rejecting Mary One Step Away From Rejecting Jesus? No! It is the same as rejecting Our Lord, for Our Lord and His Holy Mother are one together with God the Father and the Holy Spirit (John 17:21).

    • @Thejhaykid
      @Thejhaykid Місяць тому +6

There is no rejecting Mary. The rejection is to the claims that she was immaculately conceived (not found anywhere in the bible), that she was sinless throughout her life (not found anywhere in the bible), that she was a perpetual virgin (not found in the bible), or that she was bodily assumed (also not found in the bible).
Mary's birth is not mentioned in the bible. The only writings about Mary's birth (protoevangelium of James) were condemned as heretical by church counsels and by Pope Innocent I. Her perpetual virginity cannot be supported especially when you read Matthew 1:24-25 "He had no relations with her until she bore a son" , Luke 2:7 "and she gave birth to her firstborn son..." Mark 6:3 Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him., Matthew 13:55-56, Acts 1:13-14, John 7:3-5, Luke 8:19, Mark 3:31, Matthew 12:46-50, Mark 15:40 (compare it with Mark 6:3).
If the claim is that this is infallible apostolic oral tradition, then which apostle if any orally spoke these things or tell us what words were spoken. If you don't know who or what was said by the apostles or by Jesus to support this claim then it is not infallible, apostolic, scriptural, or binding on the soul.
