Sad Riffs 3 soon please!!!! Grazie 🤘
The riff for Nutshell literally makes me tear up, every time.
it doesn't sound right without bass though
and then layne comes in with his
"weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
One of my favorite songs and he nailed that shit
@@sundigest1121 I would agree but still killed it
I love nutshell..but man to live is to die is..saddest
Playing Metallica's "To Live Is To Die" interlude after Opeth's "Dirge For November" intro/verse was a nice surprise. The fact that the following piece was both an inspiration AND the reason for Opeth‘s existence as a band adds some level of excitement.
P.S. I've edited this comment to make more sense and/or express it better.
Really? Didn't know that. Might shuffle some opeth.
@@PotentialCreeper yeah mikeal said in a live show that this riff was the main inspiration that opeth had
@@PotentialCreeper in a concert mikael say that to live is to die is the reason of the existence of opeth
Tbh though I think Opeth is way better than Metallica but that’s just my opinion. At least as far as songwriting and technical skill goes, obviously Metallica has a lot more influence and whatnot.
@@disturbiafromthebay I agree, but everyone has influences. Metallica is the most influential metal band in my opinion, and without them, a lot of the greats would not exist.
To Live Is To Die is amazing! Metallica has a lot of beautifully sad riffs.
YEEEEES!!!! After solo, saddest harmony ever!!
metallica is the goat
@@yessir6427True dat
Nutshell always gives me chill. Beautiful track
Nutshell and To live is to die always make me emotional. You can't hear it without feeling whats behind
Agreed
Dude i khow janre with this music its a post pank
🤣🤣🤣 "post pank"
Soldier Side not getting enough love. Super sad, awesome riff.
Haha
Agreed
No dislikes so far. This guy has earned it.
Scratch that...one dislike
@@jacksavine596 Came here before that, my man.
Now we'll never know the amount!
@@cheeseburgerfreedomman5288 With a chrome extension you can. It has 20 dislikes now
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan Dirge For November and Human Shields are in my top 10 songs of Opeth and Fear Factory
as well awesome to see Nutshell and Right In Two, and I think "Come Clarity" by In Flames could be on another list of sad riffs
That whole album is full of extremely sad riffs. Reflect the storm verses and chorus riff and especially Vanishing Light make me crack up very often.
Grabbed my acoustic and wanted to find some sad melodies. And now I've got notification :) Thanks Boma!!
Edit: I'm definitely will learn My Dear Friend riff, only thing i need is tuning
I know i always have a long winded comment to add here
So here we go again....
A musician's greatest ally and enemy at the same is the ability to capture a feeling in a song or riff or lyric.
Your greatest ability? Making that feeling with your special touch.
Well Done.
Nate
Sad riff video #1 is how I found you. Your selections always bring goosebumps to my skin. Your playing is impeccable. Love your song you added at the end. Bravo sir. Job well done. I wish I had one ounce of your talent.
*Nutshell starts playing *
Depression, here I come...
omg "my dear friend" is a very nice song andrea you are the best
This is criminally underrated. This vid deserves at least 1M views.
That last one sounds like a perfect circle.
Katatonia's Gone. man, you can taste the despair
That guitar tone on Human Sheilds sounded so amazing! I would love to see a cover of that song!
Flanger, my friend.
I’m glad you put “to live is to die” instead of something like “fade to black” for a Metallica song. To me it’s their saddest song. Nicely done. Your tone for that cover was perfect btw
Really glad to see your own song in here. I've been listening a lot to it lately as I just lost my feline family member. Thanks man.
Those transitions tho
That Novembers Doom song is soooooo beautiful!
Thank you, Andrea. This was commented before I even watched the whole video.
Thank you so much for your fantastic content! If it wasn't for you, I would not have discovered so many of the bands you referenced in some of your past videos.
Thank you.
That was incredible dude especially you're own song that's amazing 🤘🤘🤘🤘
My dog got put down today. She died of Heart Failure. She had just turned 12. I miss her so much. After 3 medications she sadly died. But at least she’s suffering anymore. Tuesday would’ve been a month since her birthday. Rest In Peace Ella.
the production on this video is through the roof, had me in a trance
I really love the sad riffs videos. I became a huge fan of the songs from the first video and now I'm already a fan of the songs from the second video.
Beautiful riffs man
15 - andrea boccarusso - my dear friend (6:15) - Just perfect
That original of yours is amazing, could listen to it for days \m/
i love these sad riff videos man, gets me through those tough work sessions
Props for including Novembers Doom! I never hear anyone talk about em which is... sad
lovin it, great job Boma!
AWESOME to see Katatonia on here. My fav band. Great video 🤘
I will always love this channel and the sheer amount of effort you put into both playing covers and composing music of your own. Cheers and thank you sir
my grandma is in the process of passing away due to dementia and this video is helping me grieve more peacefully.
Really impressed on the audio on this one! It's amazing! And so is your new album!! :D
RIGHT WHEN I WATCH PART ONE AGAIN YOU POST THIS THANK YOU ANDREA BRO
I started singing when you played What Could Have Been.
Beautiful work Boma 🤘🤘❤️❤️
It was spectacular ! We want 15 SAD RIFFS pt 3 ! :-)
Read the description and went immediately to nutshell. Love the video already!
Great playing as always dude! Your song sounds beautiful!
Currently at my beginning stages of learning how to play the guitar, thanks for providing me with some great practice material. Keep up the good work :)
Gone by Katatonia hits on a very personal level. Very notable song in my life. Also kudos for Before the Rain, they are not much famous in doom metal, but their work One Day Less is pure gold.
Also never thought about Into Dust as being sad. Rather relaxing to me. Good compilation of songs anyway!
I listen to your videos on tap! Depending on my mood, I listen to different playlists of yours, because you capture the best part of each track, and chain the tracks in a way that they loop logically and melodically into each other....that makes me wanna listen over an over again!!!! Thankyou so much for your efforts, and please keep adding your videos, and paying homage to the good years of music from the '90s and early 2000's. From one of your Aussie Fans from DoWn UnDeR......
Realllll good stuff and honestly what I needed rn
Love your channel man been watching since I started playing guitar. Keep putting in that hard work.
I immediately went to look up To Live is to Die, but couldn't, because I was interrupted by an excellent surprise with What Could Have Been. Never expected to hear that outside of a dedicated video
Thank u man! I'm sure i'll be coming back to this video for the next years as i've done with the part 1.
Dirge for November was a good pick, though there are a ton of songs you could have picked by Opeth, like the entire Damnation album or half the stuff off Watershed or Blackwater Park. It's great to see Opeth getting some love, and great work overall, keep it up.
Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your love of music with the rest of us
Beautiful recommendations, thanks
Guitar tones are always on point. 👌🏻
Simply Incredible as always!!
Great to see Brother by Warrel here!! ❤️🎸
Wow, some brilliant choices in there. Nice to hear some Opeth and Blackfield.
Didn't expect to see Novembers Doom on the list :) one of my favorite doom metal bands
Amazing performance!
Brilliant stuff
Loved the fact you included Blackfield
Believe it or not, but I just was rewatching the old video and then bam!.. and you upload the 2nd part.
Anyway, great riffs
How strange. I rewatched the first part again yesterday and then this comes out. What a nice surprise.
That acoustic sounds so beautiful dude. Now i want an acoustic too :P. Great video
p.s Loved your original \,,/

both are these great jobs!
@@emakcay agreed!
Pls do part 3 bro👍👍👍
Opening on a riverside song was such a pleasant surprise! Love to see other riverside fans on here :)
Benedico il giorno in cui ho scoperto questo canale, mi hai fatto conoscere un botto di canzoni nuove che sono entrate di diritto tra le mie preferite
beautiful.
0:54 Thanks for including this, i was expecting The Unforgiven tho :)
I remember when I first saw the first video, I made a list of riffs I considered sad at that point:
The Smiths - Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
System Of A Down - Holy Mountains (Opening Riff)
Current Joys - Kids
Rammstein - Stein Um Stein
Metallica - Fade To Black
My Chemical Romance - Helena
Pantera - This Love
Alice In Chains - Frogs
The Devil Wears Prada - Kansas
All That Remains - The Waiting One
Tool - Right In Two
Andrea apparently agrees with me on Right In Two! That was a nice surprise. Anyway, since he’s created a sequel to his list I’ll probably create a sequel to mine.
Here’s my list of sad riffs
Linkin Park - One More Light
Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends
Avenged Sevenfold - So Far Away
Metallica - Unforgiven II
My Chemical Romance - I Don’t Love You
Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong Side of Heaven
Slipknot - Snuff
Alter Bridge - Blackbird
Disturbed - A Reason To Fight
Metallica - Fade To Black
Three Days Grace - Never Too Late
Blink 182 - Adam’s Song
Green Day - Restless Heart Syndrome
Avenged Sevenfold - Seize The Day
Evanescence - My Immortal
Feels like we haven’t seen him in so long
awesome, i got chills.
WOW Before The Rain I love this portuguese death doom band so much, not a lot of people actualy knew or listen to them. I even got the CDs. Thank you so much
Watching with anticipation of that sweet Type O Negative riffs 🤞👍
Well, its not here. But am still be watching, waiting, commiserating.
Thanks for the good work btw👏👏👏
Waiting for when "Haunted" eventually appears in one of these
Prelude to Agony intro riff or riot.

Fade to Black , Brothers in Arms.... best channel of youtube!
Chilling and awesome!
Some Riverside appreciation, woo-hoo! They're really good at writing emotional, melodious songs. And they're from my home country (Poland)!
Great video, almost made me tear up.
Yes!!! The first one was so good and this is also amazing!
Probably the best series you've ever done.
Make a part three and throw in a few Insomnium riffs.
Wow this was great
I was waiting to see To Live Is To Die in the first vid, thankfully its here
Please keep Opeth riffs longer next time. I personally need that.
gotta say Andrea i'm really sad, but this video helps a bit to absorb it a bit better. Thank you great musician.
If you're interested in some Hungarian sad riffs
Check out the entire song made by Karthago, titled "Requiem"
It's about the real incident when two of their fans got trampled to death during a concert
Mazzy Star, yes! Brings me back to my youth, had her cd on constant replay.
thank you Andrea! the first part was my favorite video of yours. Hopefully you're not in a sad mood tho
The ending of Perennial Quest would have been a perfect addition to the list
More people need to talk about my dear friend. It’s so good!
Bravissimo, musica fantastica e il pezzo finale è un capolavoro degno degli Opeth🤘🏻
Wow, I was not expecting Human Shields from Fear Factory! That's really neat! I'd like to see Echo of my Scream next, if that happens!
Right in Two by Tool though I would not consider sad at all, I don't get that one
Excelente pauta, ótima fotografia
When it hit 4:33 for a split second I thought that was ghosts of summers past by Woods of Ypres
Thx for this brother helps whit my depressing days🖤🖤🥀
Man, the last one still hits hard.
Nutshell was my immediate thought on seeing the name of this video.
Grande Andrea, la tua canzone è bellissima
Your original song sounded pretty good! I'll look for the complete version
Wow it's very perfect, Nice jood!!
I love this riff's! Congratulations! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
sad riffs
me laying in bed with the biggest smile on my face

Thank you for featuring a song by Katatonia. 👍
Also: this whole video is beautiful.
Not surprised to see Soldier Side, that one always gets me.
