I'm impressed that they were able to recreate the "cinematic" string sound on a synth! That's always been my favorite part of that album. And John's voice still sounds so good 25 years later!
Makes me think of the few wasted years of living the "high life..." lucky for me it was short lived. Not heroin..but quote n quote crank and later drinking... Lost the love of my life over it. Breaks my heart now.
This a great live performance. I nitpicked the original recording and you can hear the change in tempo at the beginning. Early DAW time-stretch artifacts. They managed to fix all that. The beginning sounds a little off, but nothing other than that.
I hear tempo changes here in the pre-chorus. The drummer isn't playing the same kick pattern as the record either. Still a great performance. I'm surprised they don't use a click track
