    • @f1sh3rman
      @f1sh3rman  2 роки тому +1

      Catfish huddle up together in winter and can be very hard to catch. My advice for cold winter catting is to try various soft baits and reposition frequently to find them

    Nice vid, keep em coming 👌 be good to see a catfish care vid (unhooking etc). There's loads on carp but none on catfish especially deep hooking. Also any recommendations on Catfish lakes just outside of London.

    • @f1sh3rman
      @f1sh3rman  3 роки тому +1

      Yes will definitely be doing a cat care video. I normally showcase cat care in my videos anyway with the protective gel, and type of equipment I use. I've not had a deeply hooked fish in about 3 years so hard to showcase! If you can get to Essex, I would recommend Jimmys as a runs water, you will definitely catch there.

    short and sweet. some generally solid info. id also note reels. get a dedicated cat reel - penn sea fishing reels, spinfishers , battle, fierce, shimano OC LC's, ocean range, thannus are all solid. a regular carp reel with have its geared shredded in no time, spindle bent or both. generally for the UK id be looking for something with a 15LB clutch bare minimum. personally i use Penn spinfishers 8500L 40lb drag, absolutely bulletproof. the smaller versions are fine...just lack line capacity else id even go for the 6500 if 300 yards of 30lb mono isn't needed. rods, NGT profilers are absolutely brilliant for the money, amazing starter kit. but if money aint an issue free spirit cat tamers are the dogsconkers

      Top water lures are good, find some built up areas like snags out the water, overhanging trees etc. other than that anything that pulsates hard and gives off a lot of vibration

    apart from the diameters of 30lbs mono and 80lb braid being comparable why isn't something like 50lb braid good enough if a 30lb mono even will snap at a lower bs

    • @f1sh3rman

      There is a lot less stretch in braid which is why you should opt to go heavier :)
