Just got back from a 3 day session , caught 5 cats and 2 carp all but one were on a single halibut pellet , they love em!
I love you whole approach to fishing * use what you have and make it work* so many videos shops and people are obsessed with having the best most expensive tackle and some of use just carnt afford matching rods high end reals £300-400 bite alarms ect just fish with what you have and enjoy yourself just don't intentionally injur the fish

My favourite heinz soup is either tomato or minnestroni the latter I used to eat all the time as a child
In my time in south america where are called bagre we used chicken guts to fish them and the weight there are 20lb and above is next to tilapias the amazon favorite food

I never thought about baiting the water for catfish! Great tip!
I do it all the time..I reckon the activity of the small fish draws them into the baited area...just ask matchmen how many times they get bitten off by Pike when they start catching small fish regularly. Pike don't eat groundbait but they are attracted by all the small fish activity.

No,wife picked it up in a charity shop. I blank out the makers name with a black felt pen so they don't get free publicity. Its only really a chair you put on the tackle barrow,far too heavy for carrying.

mark Roper Those are Wels Catfish. They can get much bigger than our Blue or Flathead here in the States.
Fantastic episode Greame thanks mate. There's been a couple of postings of catfish coming out of the Norfolk broads but I've not met anyone yet who actually has had one despite the reports being near where i moor up the Bure. When the season opens the areas in question will be crammed with boats so that's out until October. I think people have caught them by accident on bream gear so targetting them with some good super stinky stuff should bring them. They have some awesome catfish baits in the states, pastes were my favourite that you squeeze onto a sort of spring coil that the hook comes out of. But my goodness you'd better wear gloves.

Do you sell any RAPTOR OIL I would like to see if this works in a few of my lakes with big cats in ?
Just put some oil from canned sardines (or tuna)and some sardines in there and leave it in a warm place and forget about it.

I love catching catfish the lake I was catching them at has taken them out because they were eating all the little fish I personally would prefer catching catfish as the roach at the lake are crap

Mid April onwards. When the water temperature hits 10 degrees. I caught 13 in one day a week ago and 4 yesterday. Use heavy gear though. They kick like a horse.

I wouldn't think so,given what the eat in our waters. Our Catfish are all returned anyway.
What type of water is best for cat fishing?
In the UK it will be the stillwaters that holds a stock,there are some in rivers I believe.Might be tough finding them though.
Catfish have some of the most beautiful camouflage in nature.
i fishing in a crystal clear river and with fishing glasses on you coudnt even see the trout because they were invisible.
@@Francois_Dupont bit of a difference between a 2lb browny and a 20+lb cat though but 100% all predator fish pike,trout,salmon,zander,perch,cats etc have amazing camo

what mainline are you useing graham or should i say what mainline would you recommend to use for cats graham?
20lb mono.Sometimes 15lb,but that would be my minimum
I use either 15 or 20lb mono. Would not go any lighter.

Once this weather settles I will be out waving the rod around for trout .We can catch the trout in bad weather but not much point if we can't film. i still have a couple of unseen trout films in the files so might wheel them out if weather stays grim.

Just take your time and don't force things,then you might get lucky and fit it in the net.

What is catfish bait..?
It could be fish based,or chicken liver,luncheon meat,worms.They eat pretty much anything that is fish or meat based.
I had a twitchy bite when you barley get indication and it was a 30lb cat not all twitchy bites are small fish

Yea, but I´m not sure it gets to be that massive in England though, probably needs to go to Ebro in Spain or somewhere like that to catch the real monsters... With that said, Graeme did have a cat about twice the size of the biggest one here a few videos back, last year or something I think.
