It is designed this way so that in the event of a ditching, the engines break off and don’t cause the plane to break in half. This is due to the fact that the engines would act as a sort of scoop, slowing down the plane too rapidly during a ditching. Obviously this can be harmful for the passengers as they can suffer whiplash and slam their heads on the PTvs in front. As demonstrated in Cactus 1549 which landed safely in the Hudson, both engines broke off the A320 and ended up at the bottom of the Hudson River. Nobody had any life threatening injuries.

I may be wrong, but I think the 747 isn't even outputting full thrust. The ECAM displayed D-TO +50°C which stands for Derated TakeOff +50°C, simply put, the engine is held back to conserve fuel and extend engine life on takeoff. Afaik in Boeing systems, with DTO in effect, you can't push to TOGA, or at least it will not be at the green line.
