Chris Murley thanks. I try to spend as much time with my kids as I can, while I can. Plus, by getting my kids involved with different fun projects like this keeps them from wanting to get on a game device or their cell phones. Plus I have lots of fun playing with them. Just wish I had their energy. Hahaha I also wish families still did stuff like this together. Next, we are carving pumpkins and putting tanerite containers in them. Its time to let my kids blow up some pumpkins!!!!
I will have my son grab the rifle and do a small video this weekend. I was new at makitn videos and never put the after product up to show hahaha my bad. Its been 2 years. So you get to see how its held up.
Polo Purp 420 the water was warm at first, we should of dipped a hair sooner, but luckily it still worked out. We sprayed 3 layers of clear coat on afterwards. Its become the most glorified pellet gun hahahaha
Polo Purp 420 i want to private chat, drop those led and start rocking some hps. 😉 way better color, flavor, and total outcome in the end,,,,as long as you can control the temps.
@@JJ-333 Sweet man are you on instagram? I have a whole grow journal on there but if not my email is drippygringo@gmail.com and I have a 1k watt hps/mh setup but I didnt have the exhaust fans needed to control temps so I just started running with leds. Some of the newer and most efficient technology. I agree though, nothing can beat the hard nugs of hps! Super dense and frosty!
Polo Ponix I have 2 king cooker Propane burners under the tub. That tub is used as a scalding tub for chickens and hogs too. We dipped with the water around 90 degrees. I had turned the burners off. The paint started to goo up a little during the dip. I think it is because the water started to get cooler. I got lucky and the entire dip came out great. I also sprayed 3 coats of 2x clear coat after the hydrodip. I am going to put up a small video showing how the rifle came out. Its been quite a while since we did the dipping. I want to show how awesome the paint held and how it still looks fresh after a years worth of use.
Do you need to add primer to the stock before dipping or no? Asking because I want to dip my .17 hmr stock and I’m not sure if I need to coat it with primer.
I did not coat it with primer. It already had a black base color. I just hit it with black again since I had the extra can. If your changing the base color then I would consider throwing on a coat or so of primer.
@@detroitmustang3415 thats awesome. Did you keep your water at around 90 degrees? My son and I are thinking about trying to hydrodip more stuff like my boat motor eng cowling. Lol
Maybe now you can get the sheets more affordable. It was not at all cheaper to get the base spray, activater, sheets, clear coat, etc a few years ago when my son and I played around. Also, we were using older cans of paint and clear coat we already had around the farm. We didn’t go out and buy anything. My son was just playing around and I said hey lets play with your pellet gun, and that progressed to lets dip it. Lol this wasn’t even preplanned. Farm life rocks. Also, the pellet gun still looks like it was just painted, even after a few years of abuse.
That came out really well. Good to see Dad and Son doing stuff together.

warm weather, warmer water: so that it doesnt stick to itself before you dip
Good stuff guys! Did you use colder water? Also did you ever add any gloss/clear coating?

@@JJ-333 Haha hell yes bro I have been considering doing this with a remmington 597 stock. I want to practice on something else first though lol!

Nice work
Are those special paints or any spray paint can do
Nice!

@@JJ-333 yes I used hydrographic film that was like $6 and i dipped it in pretty warm water. I’m so down to see that if you upload lol
I need to transfer my fishes in the mini pond to do this on my pcp stack.
I dont get why people do the spray paint method when you can buy pattern sheets for as much as the spray paint costs and the result is 100x better??

I prefer unique patterns, and its more fun to do the spray method as well
Well, we all have bathtubs.............👀👀😅😂😂
Didnt show the finished product? The hell dude
You could get a custom paint job by an artist with brush and paint...hit me up...
I gotta do this
