I object to the characterization that we don’t have music, art and theater, because we do. I promise you that people coming here from any of the great cities of the world (I’m here 12 years from a lifetime spent inside the DC Beltway with constant trips to NYC) aren’t expecting Bend to match their home town in this regard. We don’t have Michelin starred restaurants either, but we have a solid and growing restaurant scene. Winter is why God made houses in Palm Springs.

Don't go there to retire. It is covered in ice 4 months out of the year. Many elderly fall and brake their hip.😮 Housing: urban growth boundry plus height restrictions and zoning limitations = need I say more? Have asthma or heart trouble? Forest fire season lasts for 2 months on average. Visibility drops to 1 mile or less.
I feel like I live in Massachusetts with all the roundabouts. Average housing price is 900,000 for a little rabbit box. Homeless garbage and trash and dumping of sewage can be smelt for miles off China Hat road. Yeah, what a lovely place to live.

A small lot in Bend can be 3500 square feet. With lack of land on build on, the city has reduced the size of lots and builders are taking advantage of this.
@@suzannelawson9215 I did a quick search on Zillow, saw NO studio apartments, but a fair amount of one bedroom apartments. $1600 to almost $1900 seems to be the price range. It's Bend, it's insanely expensive. Likely after your first 10 month lease, the price will go up with each renewal.

I love the roundabouts because they keep the traffic moving. Although the weird 2-lane roundabouts cause problems.
They can be tough to navigate!! But I like them also.

What information do you have on renting a 1 bedroom or a studio apt. in Bend near the town center? Not suburb area.
Maybe I could afford a studio apt.

Check out Bend YIMBY for people trying to make this town more affordable. 6k housing deficit.
