I prefer a 2 dr hardtop 57 because of the lower roofline, which is what I owned, but any shoebox wagon is cool nowdays 2 or 4 door. Great save! would hate to see her get scrapped.
Hi Matthew! Congratulations for your `57 210 Wagon Restoration Project! I always love it when somebody goes to a junk/salvage yard & rescue a vintage car! :) It´s even a crime when a classic car goes to the crusher :( I hope it will going righ & you will get a beauty out of the restoration! (I hope my english is good enough for you that you can understand all...? Because i´m from germany & love US classic cars... at most from the 50s till the 70s & i`m still in a restoration project.. a `67 Caprice 4 Door Hardtop..where I´ve done a lot of sheet metal work. Too much to write here! ;) It was cool that you shown the address of the yard because I´m looking for some parts & if I can get a contact from a yard there are more possibilities for me to find the parts what i needs...Thank you! But do you know a e-Mail Address of this yard, or someone else who has parts especially for my project, please??? :) Is there a possibility to contact you??? Cheers Till
how in the world did you manage to buy a complete vehicle from Knit Towing? i tried to get four vehicles and they always told me it was against the law for them to sell a complete vehicles. anyway, i did manage to buy enough parts and pieces from them to assemble a vehicle for the drag strip.
Good luck on that project. Without a title, how are you getting it legal? I had to cut a car up into small pieces before I could get rid of it. It was a 1974 AMC Matidor coupe. I bought it for parts. I couldnt get a certificate of abandonment because they wont do that at the State police now so I cut it up. I had to make sure it was unrecongnizeable as far as the dash area and removed the VIN number area. It was added into other vehicles as scrap. I loaded the trunk of another car I was scrapping and told them it was parts from that car even though it wasnt. It used to be much easier to get the abandondment certificates too.
Because not everybody is into hot rods. I personally think hot rods are trash, useless and a waste of money, you on the other hand might have a completely opposite opinion and consider them "better" to have/own/build/restore that actual cars.
And thankfully for now, at least, 4-doors can still be had on the cheap because people still have their heads up their asses with the "too many doors" mentality. I saved a 4-door 57 wagon (original V8 BelAir car) a few months ago. The car is complete with all its original trim, sheet metal, a complete yet not original drivetrain, interior, etc and I paid less for it than i've seen some 2 door sadans that were nothing but a frame, cab, and rear fenders sitting in the mud.
He fell in love with her i dont blame him a feeling of i can bring her back from the dead feeling only a true car lover will understand that feelimg just lile i feel with my 59
It’s another four door ahhhhhhhhhh hope you don’t waste your money on that because $40,000 could go a lot further on a car that will get you more on your return. Go find something with a big block
Nice 1957 wagon. Restore it! I have a 56 Nomad. Love these cars.
That is a good find. Best wishes for success in your endeavor.

You could part that sheet metal out and tripple your money at the very least. Good choice to save. Can't wait to follow this restoration.
Is there a part 2 or a finished project? Would really like to see the end result or where it's at now?

“I don’t think it’s back here, this is all the 70s junk”
The 70s had some of the most beautiful cars to ever be on the road but ok.
Right....they were underpowered and had girders bolted on each end....
no more updates?
nice video when are you posting the full restoration?
More vids on this wagon 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The early Valiant wagon at 3:20 is ultra rare now.
I remember my old mechanic had one in the 80s, and it was a rare bird then - never seen one since.
Great save. What has happened to this car? Please post update videos.
Good luck for the future
When you buy a complete car from a salvage yard do you pay by the pound or a set price ?
with that torched tahoe and the 210wagon
you got stuff to do for the winter
keep us updated y'all
If that's where I think it is I've been in that yard back in the early 70's when I was at Fort Richardson.
That yard has some serious vehicles in it...😳
Yup, those old Chevies are going for big bucks now. They're worth every penny. What did you guys do with it?
So, what's happening with this wagon? Any updates?
Its probably back in the junkyard,LOLL!
How about that 57 Chevy truck? Still there?
No video long time! Awesome find!
I've been to that yard.... bought a 65 ImpalaSS there
I saw a lot of 3rd gen novas, do you know if any where worth saving?
Where is the rest of the video ?
To Classic Car Mods. Is there any updates regarding the 57`Chevvy Wagon..?
I wood like to know where that salvage yard is as well
Have you seen any old Pontiac pickup trucks? Heard they were sold in Canada back in the 50's.
Keep Us Posted.
Ah, the sounds of breakup... man, I miss it.
Is that light blue 1967 Firebird in the background (at the end of this video) the same car you made a video about many years ago?

1000 bucks damit good ass deal
Save the two mustangs while you're at it!
Wow beautiful station wagon
Would love to explore this place and possibly by the green dodge truck with camper on it
Where in Alaska is the yard?
That 1965-67 Dodge Pickup at 2:08 looks like a possibility.
wow.. the car still has a sole and it has a big smile on it to know it wont go in the crusher and off to china

Jump to 3:50 if you want to skip the bullshit.
Sir Ian save the car.....
Good luck fixing that pile of rust.
57 @ 3:45
everyone thinks Alaska is so beautiful, well this is what it really looks like dirty and muddy and cold
The only people who think snow is pretty are the people who don’t have to live in at 6 to 8 months out of the year.
Whoa ...Valiant wagon at 3:24 . Can you guys grab me that one ?
'kin COLD!!!
I don't wanna be that guy, but LS SWAP THAT
えーっ!? ポンコツ買ったの!? 再生しちゃうのかな?

Awesome! Hope you guys will be able to do something with it, I'm sure you didn't pay a 1000. just to rob the parts...:-0
You guy's walked right by some good hot rod material, for grannies missing parts rust bucket four door 57. WHY?
Because not everybody is into hot rods.
I personally think hot rods are trash, useless and a waste of money, you on the other hand might have a completely opposite opinion and consider them "better" to have/own/build/restore that actual cars.
The 4 doors are finally being saved and it's about time. Idiots have made them so rare by destroying them. Good job saving it
And thankfully for now, at least, 4-doors can still be had on the cheap because people still have their heads up their asses with the "too many doors" mentality. I saved a 4-door 57 wagon (original V8 BelAir car) a few months ago. Shane Singleton absolutly true. People who junk 4 doors should never be allowed to own a real car. I save 4 doors also
ChaosZero ノブ modern junk cars are the absolute waste of money and not worthy of shareing the same road with classics
I have tried to write to them but they don´t answer...
You walk past a 70 Duster, 66/67 Coronet, 71-73 Javelin, 55-57 Chevy pick up ... and you get excited over a 57 4 door wagon?
Nathan, a Javelin? Now that's humor! Text me before you post another public comment. Your friend Bob
I bet they rust fast in alaska
Not many left
At 2:31 you walked back a 59 ford wagon. It looked in better shape than that Chevy. Save it
That's a $200 car.
At least the junkyard dudes laughing all the way to the bank
No way
Out west they dont rust
$1000. Well, I guess that's one way to get laid. Ouch.
Borat 6:52
that is a lot of money for what you got but hay it is your's now .
good video awesome yard worthless 57
cool car but about $800 to much
proud to be white
Not in Alaska, haha
Ten grand for junkyard cars??? That's pretty fucked up!
Here in the netherlands you pay around 5000€ or more for a car like that!!
Look on my channel ...picked up a running driving one for $2,450.00 ...still have it (pink 57 wagon)
They have ALOT of shit back in those woods
so what the hreck haooened weres the videos
Man that was a good buy for 1k what ever happened to this car ...
UPDATE US
I would make that into a 2 door. Hell yea
They probably just have it sitting around still....unless they came across 50 grand to start the project...most of these guys are dreamers.....lol
Try editing
Pretty dumb video three quarters of the video was taken up buy walking to find the car
You better have deep pockets pal what a mess
Guy filming himself walking over a junkyard for 10 min. What a waste of time!
Really? A 7 minute video and I listen to you crunching through the ice for 4 minutes. That was a waste of my time.
$1,000.. for a car with no title, I don't see it, I'm missing something.
joe Schlotthauer well it’s been out of any dmv system for over a decade. It’s rare to find 510 wagons like this one
Deathtraps AndDirtyTramps
My state requires a title, no exceptions.
He fell in love with her i dont blame him a feeling of i can bring her back from the dead feeling only a true car lover will understand that feelimg just lile i feel with my 59
Black Sol you mean 210 wagon ?
pointless
It’s another four door ahhhhhhhhhh hope you don’t waste your money on that because $40,000 could go a lot further on a car that will get you more on your return. Go find something with a big block
